In which year one should apply for FIT ideally. Also, does your SGPA matters?
For one year or two years course ......what fees did you need to pay ?.....like some extra fee or just Nift fees

Does Fit conduct entrance exams like Nift and other colleges in India?

There is a different process to get in to FIT unlike other colleges in India. You are evaluated based on your student essay, portfolio and other factors. I would suggest you to go through there official website for further details. You can also book a call with our counsellors to get clarity ☺

I’m a TD student at Nift Hyderabad , So basically we don’t have to make a portfolio of our choice instead they only give us the topics to make it right.?? And also if I’m td I’ll have to compulsorily choose TD there too is it ?

Just coming out of nowhere but I'm a Nift Mumbai student and it's totally on your interests. whatever your interest is you should do that. if you're tilted towards designing go for that if you're more into Technology go into that. I did the same worked greatly for me.

Hey, was the 6.5 band minimum, for the IELTS? I’m not really familiar with the term so could you just briefly explain it?
Also, is there a percentage or marks requirement to get into fit?

Hello! On my offer letter, it had some conditions I needed to meet. One of them was my Final transcript submission because I didn’t graduate high school yet. But, my problem was that on the offer letter, there weren't any specific GPA requirement I had to maintain for the rest of my grade 12 high school subjects. Do you know anything about this conditions regarding how much GPA I should maintain and would my admission be rescinded if my GPA gets lower?

Hi Shivangi, U keep mentioning that you did a associate degree, is it based on your educational background or can we apply if we have good portfolio, what if the the person has a engineering background and wanted to be fashion designer and have a good portfolio as a designer student, can we apply for the associate degree? You said the first few rounds of selection at NIFT (checking of SGPA, written test, etc) are only to determine if you’re ELIGIBLE to apply. And the actual selection will be based on FIT’s own procedure.
So does that mean when we apply to FIT, we’ll be treated as any other regular applicant and will be competing not only against NIFT students but everyone worldwide who applies to that particular AAS program?
Yes pretty much! FIT has this exchange programme with a bunch of schools all over the world and within USA too. So yes, you would be judged like any other student :)

I’m currently majoring in FD at NIFT Bangalore. If I were to try applying to FIT after I graduate, would it make sense to apply for an associates’ degree in communication design, a different field altogether? Because that’s something I’m equally passionate about. Also, I don't really wanna study FD again, after four whole years at NIFT. Do you think joining communication would be of any value or should I just stick to fashion design?

But before that I want to gain some experience in Fashion Industry including more of top clothing brand's side and of modelling and branding side. What major would you prefer i should take? Can i go with AA in AMC and then transfering to BS Entrepreneurship? Or should i go with BS AMC and do some minor in fashion entrepreneurship?
