I was out there with you brother I40 to Ashville will be shut down into 2025. I was on hwy 74 they shut it down also. I had to take I85 down to Atlanta and come back up to Tennessee because all the state routes had trees down on the roads. Be safe out here driver
Glad that you made it out of there safely. That storm and aftermath were no joke. Those detours around i40 are awful. The increase in traffic is definitely going to congest those roads now.
I just found your channel, love the topics that you cover for us truckers. You have me implementing some of those winter essentials. Keep the great content coming. That driving for a percentage is really sounding good right now. Thanks for what you bring to highlighting what we experience OTR brother you've gained a viewer
well i saw a trucker josh video of the ferry ride to a island food delivery the snow socked the ferry boat in for like a whole weekend & it never came back for him for like 3 days he lived in his truck! ( the people from the town came down and made sure he was taken care off & had supply's to live in his truck sleep )& it was peter-built camper! he had a thing that run the sleeper & keep the truck warm too! ok trucker josh used to be local driving & he is married try to have a baby & all med stuff was over his wife got to have a kid then josh got a over the road truck a nice one now!
I’m so glad you are ok! I found you a while ago on here because you’re an amazing driver on these roads! I’m here, I live in Rutherford County. Chimney Rock and Lake Lure are practically gone. Those were some of my most favorite places growing up. My heart hurts for my locals. Thank you for making a video about your experience. Are you still here in the state? Do you need anything?
Thanks for the compliment and concern. I'm fine, thankfully. The damage in that area is going to take a long time to repair, tragically. It won't be until next year for i40 and i26 highway repairs alone, not to mention the residential damage and losses.

Bro I would of got off and went back to i-40 west and got on I-81 to Wytheville, VA and got off I-77 southwest or east then you be good on that side of north carolina
Unfortunately I couldn't do that. They closed i40 west at exit 50, so backtracking to i81 wasn't an option. I had to go through the town of Asheville to eventually use i26 southeast through SC to make my way home.

Why didn’t you go 81 to 77. It wasn’t like it just happened without notice
I’ve heard it’s going to be closed for a year or more
Yeah, it's going to be a long time before that area is functional again.
YES, it is not include the other (18) roads and bridges that's connected to I-40.
I40 EB will be down for possibly months since Asheville is practically nearly wiped off the map
Yeah, that area got hit in the worst way. i40 is destroyed throughout that region.

Why did they send you with that load knowing it was a hurricane? And why did you not refuse it Bro?
It was directional freight to get me home for the weekend.
