The generalization here is too sweeping. Casting the blame solely on guitarists seems misplaced. Yes, a lot of guitarists are consumed by playing the fastest, most blistering musical lines. But guitar players are far from the only instrumentalists doing so. Many people view guitar shredders more negatively than, say, shredding fiddle players or shredding banjoists. The blame may lie less with guitarists than with listeners who value shredding over emotional depth, etc. But people can like what they want. Some musicians follow trends while others ignore trends; that’s the way it’s always been and will likely always be. I’m just glad Frisell has developed his guitar voice so compellingly and brilliantly, and that it’s out there to inspire all of us attuned enough to its rhythms, its lines, its sound. That’s part of the wonder of music, especially of the beauty, the poetry, and the power that is the guitar.
I always love the performance of Mr. Frisell, but this time I want to say that I love the work of the director and the cameraman of this video as well.
Bill Frisell alone with the acoustic guitar manages to create a surreal world, his world made of refined notes, a wonderful sound, daring intervals, Lookout for hope and Strange meeting reminds me of the creative period that I love most of Bill Frisell , its more experimental side to which I am most attached. Great video audio recording thank you
To me this is what they should have been describing when they invented the term "tone poem". And I love the little Nino Rota insertions, here, there, anywhere his mind suggests they be.
Хорошо🎉🎉🎉🎉
In a world where guitars players are almost just involved on being the best shredder, Bill is inventing poetry, so beautiful .
Verdade! Bem observado.
too much of a generalization for my taste, but I get your drift; shredders get the views
Very well put!!!!

I push a couple of buttons and magically, one of the greatest artists on the planet is playing for me in my living room. Its a deal!
This is officially the decade of Bill Frisell. And that’s super cool with me.
For me there have been some since Bass Desires.
