For what it is worth, I met Micky Dolenz twice under unrelated circumstances and he was a prince both times. Perfect gentleman.

A friend said Germain Greer once made one of her friends cry by calling her a "silly girl" and refusing to speak to her because her midriff was exposed and she had a bellybutton piercing.

I met Margaret Atwood. I told her that it had been great to have her as an intellectual role model because growing up in the country hadn't offered much in the way of that. She said that she wasn't an intellectual, she was literary, and I should look it up. That's all she said, then she turned away sharply and left me gaping

By falling to grasp your meaning, I suppose she did prove that she does not possess a great intellect. 😅
Jokes aside though, that must have felt awful. I'm sorry that happened to you.

@@what_equals_42 Well, I did get a fun story out of it :) I didn't mention, but it happened during a protest March and she was on a hay ride - wagon and horses

"Hmm.. who buys books? Hmm.. hmm... why... we buy books! Us women! Hmm.. what makes women really angry? I'll write a book about that and make shitloads."

Everyone who works with Tom Hanks' wife Rita Wilson says he is private but super-easy to work with, and she is a beeyatch who thinks she's the talented and famous half of her marriage.

    Hmmm dunno tbh..
I'm middle aged so I must have met a few celebrities in my time. As a Sheff Wed supporter/fan since the mid 1970's footballers and managers are going to be my main frame of reference.
But they're not really celebrities right? More like sports stars. Ron Atkinson was an absolute gentleman. Friendly and well spoken always. Same with Trevor Francis. Those were of my time.
But as a pop and metal music fan I've met and pressed flesh with a few of those over the years also. Uli Roth was an absolutely fantastic man to meet in real life. Literally stood at the door of a gig in Sheffield maybe 10 years ago to chat and let fans take selfies with him as they left the gig.
I know.. This video is about the worst celebs. Can't say I've ever met any that weren't at least pleasant in person. Maybe just doing their job? Who knows...

I worked as a waiter in London and served a few famous people.
Sean Lock, who was just trying to keep his head down and not be noticed. Did a good service, didn't bother him, didn't even mention i knew who he was. He didn't leave me a tip. Couldn't help but think he was a bit of a cheapskate cos he'd have been good for at least a couple quid 🤷🏻‍♂️.
There was a British TV personality called Peter something... I didn't really know who he was but i know I'd seen him on TV. He was gay and VERY interested in me. It was actually really creepy. I tried to make it clear that I was straight and not interested without being direct about it as i was working and we had an atmosphere to keep. He kept calling me over to do small things so he could talk to me more. He was making hints that i should take his number and message him when i was finished. I did my best to just feign ignorance at these advances.
One of the older girls from Loose Women came in. She was lovely tbh, but i never watched Loose Women.
Matt Bellamy (lead singer of Muse). He was a good guy. Very pleasant.
There was a footballer but i can't remember who now... I don't like football, but he was a big deal. I just remember one of the chefs coming up to grab something to take back to the kitchen and recognizing him and he started fangirlling. I didn't have much if an impression if the guy tbh. He just kept to his small party at the table.
Timothy West came in with a huge party, and that was actually a big deal. It took 4 of us to serve the party. We were forbidden from speaking to him without being spoken to first (by our own management, not him or his party). I didn't take his order but he was polite when asking for things. One of the women in his party mostly spoke for him. When making requests.
I know there's like 4 more im forgetting... It was a long time ago now. There was another minor British TV personality who came in with his wife and we gave then a table close to the back so they wouldn't be noticed and bothered. I remember having a good laugh with him and his wife. Wish i could remember his name now...

Ed Byrne On The Worst Celebrities To Meet In Person! | Crowd Pleaser | Universal Comedy 1801pm 14.9.23 ahhh.................. famous people? never met one. perhaps semi-famous... i mean, does walking past someone i thought might be ray davies count? i like my fav stars to be up there or at arm's length... it's so easy to spoil the illusion of infallibility. so beware. if any stalking is being done it's the stars wondering why such a person hasn't been to fawn over them... imagine that stars stalking their alleged fan base. p.s where's my mail?
