Tim Duncan is ejected by Joey Crawford for sitting laughing on the bench. It seems that these calls late in the third quarter are not really going in the San Antonio Spurs' favour and after picking up one technical, Duncan is quickly hit with another - wit.hout saying anything. Gregg Popovic tries to argue the call as Tim Duncan leaves the arena. Right afterwards, two questionable calls go in the Dallas Mavericks' favour.

That is probably true although I heard somewhere that the ref who ejected Duncan Joey Crawford hated Tim for some reason. I have no idea why seeing as how Tim is one of the nicest guys in the NBA but that might have something to do with it.

I do agree I definitely feel the refs had money on this game and it doesn't help that I believe I heard this particular referee is actually from Dallas so there's a good chance he's a Mavericks fan. The guy did get some karma though he ended up getting suspended for the entire season next year and that same season where Tim got ejected he went on to win a ring. So it wasn't totally bad.

It gets worse. Later on, Crawford challenged Duncan to a fistfight. Duncan commented when reporters asked about it and said he'd be up for it. Wouldn't be something he'd actively ask for but if the little guy wanted it, sure is what he said. Duncan reportedly got fined $25,000 for that and well, you guys already know what happened to Joey.
@@mitomidou this is interesting from legal standpoint, since Texas is one of probably few places on earth where it is legal for adult people to physically battle (without weapons and until first body injury occurs - which isnt of course a precise definition), which means that if they both express consent to battle (and they do not disturb public peace while battling ?) they shouldn't have any legal trouble. Of course this is only a general Texas law, while NBA can have and most probably does have its own policy ('code of conduct') which forbids fistfights between players and refs
