Thank you, bought a chronograph watch and was confused why the second hand wasn’t moving and what the dials meant. This video was clear to understand everything
me too… My chronograph will be here in about six days… But I was a bit surprised the secondhand doesn't work in normal use… I guess I can get used to looking at the small one but at first I was disappointed because I love the large one… But then again I can always use it when I need a larger secondhand for timing short things just by using the chronograph I guess… But I too but the main secondhand would be normal it's not
“Don’t forget to hit that subscribe button and hit that bell too!” I hate that also...if the channel is great, then they shouldn’t have a problem getting subs. This vid taught me how to use my chronograph in 4 minutes!
It seems super complicated at first but it's actually very easy once you practice a bit. There was a time when this was the quintessential stop watch for sport and racing enthusiasts. Amazing history and functionality.
I don't mind wearing relatively cheap watches that look nice. I'm glad I saw this video, I just got the watch and thought there was something wrong with it because the second hand doesn't run in normal use. This video cleared that up but I have a few Fossil chronograph watches and the second hand runs in normal use. I'll keep the watch because it looks nice and was cheap.
this was useful so thanks… You wouldn't believe some of the stuff on RUclips just a complete waste of time. But your video absolutely nicely done. You had to make that animation good job. The watch is simple to use and it looks very nice. I appreciate your hard work making this
Just a little note for anyone using this video as general advice. DO NOT press the bottom pusher while the Chrono is running if you have a mechanical watch. (unless it's a flyback, but those are pretty rare) Otherwise, this is super easy to understand, more brands need to be this helpful.
Hi there, sure thing! You can refer to the instructions below: 1. Pull the crown all the way to the "out" position. 2. Push the upper right button repeatedly until the larger second hand reaches or is aligned with the 12 o'clock position. 3. Push the crown all the way in. 4. Press the upper right button to start and activate stopwatch or chronograph function. 5. Press the upper right button again to stop. 6. Pull the crown all the way out. 7. Press the lower right button once to re-calibrate. The larger second hand should reset itself to the 12 o'clock position. 8. Push the crown all the way in. For your reference, here is a link also to the user manual of this watch: bit.ly/2SQl0wm. If you're still encountering this issue even after re-calibration and consulting the manual, please call our customer service center at 800-448-4639.
When i press the first button the chronograph hand does nothing but the minute dial keeps rotating fast and when i press the botton button it resets to zero (minute dial), any idea if my watch got a problem? btw i bought it a week ago and it's under warranty.
Hi Meeraj! Thanks for reaching out. You may refer to the following links for previously uploaded video tutorials about IQ compass and altimeter, (bit.ly/2Jw5vq6) , (bit.ly/2TQxfuh).
hello sir i have timex chonograhp watch is exactly sme as your there are three tiny analog which indicate date ,day ,and 24 hours timing but currently i facing some issues which is day & date actully my date is changing in 11:55 i think it should change in 12 am mid and day is changing in 3 am morning which is also change same with date time i tried many time to fix it but i cant please let me know if tou have any idea thank you
Am i understanding the instructions correctly that if i buy a Chronograph watch and want to know the time of day it will have nothing to do with the big numbers? I have to look at that tiny clock in the bottom?
Does continuously keeping the seconds hand running in the chronometer hurt the mechanism or only should be used when needed and left alone most of the time?
Its a stopwatch.. Why would you leave it continuously running. It will drain the battery and also it stops automatically after 4 hours to conserve battery.
Actually. more important question, if the Chronograph stops, does that mean it stops the entire running time, so date, hours and minutes? Do I need to reset my chronograph every 4 hours?
Hey! I hope someone can help me. I purchased one recently, used it a couple of times. Today I discovered the seconds hand as well as the hours and minutes hands stopped working. I can adjust them but they won't work. Indiglo and chronograph do work fine. But now the watch won't tell time. I can still return it, I'm just wondering if this is something battery related or if the watch is screwed. Thanks!
Can I use the pusher while wearing my chronograph? I know that engaging the crown should be done while not wearing the watch to prevent damage. Should I also take off my chronograph to use the timer? Just one my first one and not really sure.
I bought a timex standard chronograph today, but I don't know how to stop moving The small hands of the watch!😞 Someone can help me?🙏🏻 Honestly it's my first watch after 32 years!⌚😅🙈
That happens with most quartz movements. There isn't a fix for it and even if you were to move the hands by removing the crystal once the hands move again they will fall out of alignment.
OK, now I understand how to use it. But, outside of track events, why use the stop watch function? I mean, where else are you going to use a stop watch?
If the chronograph stops after 4 hrs, why does it have 12hrs to count. So if it safe to say that Chronograph will only count 4hrs of stopwatch and after that it will stop?
Do anyone knows how to fix the day button of the watch...it came out from my watch....there are total three buttons.....middle one for time....upper one is for day and bottom one is for date....and I accidentally broke the date button...it came out with a spring , button ( pusher ) and a very small black rubber ring....can anyone heple me...!!!!!
You need to pull the crown out as if to set the time but press the stp watch activation button and the hand will move slowly round the dial, when it reaches the 12:00 time release the button. Set the correct time and push in the crown.
@@Bonzman I figured it out. But then I noticed it always stops at 2 marker because it's actually faulty. Returned it as it was under warranty. Now I sit and wonder if I should have kept it as a project to fix in the future only spent £41 on it...
Hello there! Thanks a lot for your support and interest with all our products. This watch still uses the quartz analog movement with the ticking motion. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will pass this along to our back end team.
I know this. My question is in a few watches especially fake watches the main sweeping second hand can’t be stopped at 12 position and you use the small second hand which can be stopped to read your seconds but no 1/10 of a second dial. Are all these fake chronograph watches or are they are just watches with functioning sub dials. After all most don’t really use or know how to use the sub dials.
Im new to chronograph watch but i think Its different from curren 8351. Chronograph are in the subdial. In thought those subdial will go along with big and small hand in the watch 😅😅😅
Don't buy a watch if you aren't going to appreciate everything that goes into one. Chronos are beautifully complex mechanisms we took so long to perfect.
So pissed off with this watch! Cant even set the time! It doesnt have crown's second position at all..minute hand is not moving. Their manual makes you damage the watch..then they inform you that you should avoid setting date from 10pm-2am! Feeling like tossing it into a river.
Not a Timex owner, but the chronograph resetting part worked perfectly for my Swatch Oblique, so cheers.

One of the best & simplest tutorials ever, since I own one!
Got this watch for Christmas one week ago. It really looks nice and seems relatively easy to operate. Thanks for the tutorial; clear and concise.
Thank you great video and to the point. Others have a long intro then the host plugs their instagram then useless chatter never getting to the point .

I recommend this video for everyone! Easy yet informative.
I've owned this chronograph for over a year and like it very much. It has a great look, it's tremendously useful, and the price is right.
Is it water resist
Hi, thanks for your interest. Yes, this watch is resistant to water up to 30 meters.
@@goodprince5327 The instructions say it's water resistant to 30 meters, but I haven't taken it swimming.
@@JimR-B 30 metres static (submerged with no movement), so in practical terms, it's splash resistant. For swimming, you need 100 metres and higher.
This video was super helpful and worked for my moonswatch. Great breakdown and explanation and was cross compatible
Best video explaining how the chronograph works
It seems super complicated at first but it's actually very easy once you practice a bit. There was a time when this was the quintessential stop watch for sport and racing enthusiasts. Amazing history and functionality.
I just got me a timex chronograph watch. Awesome watch. thank you timex. Been sporting timex watches since 1982............

Good explanation, finally understood all the functionalities
Very informative. Thank you. I have a Timex chronograph watch from 2011 that’s now discontinued (unfortunately). This helps a lot.
This was so clear and helpful. Now I’m a pro :)
I just purchased and owned one. Very underrated
Thanks for this video. I love my two Timex watches so much. I am I fan!!

why not
Bro never explained why
It puts unnecessary wear on the movement and can cause damage.

Appreciate you elaborating on how to reset my seconds chronograph hand incrementally back to 0. It was stuck at 5 seconds when it arrived!

I just got this watch and i have to say this watch worth the money

How do I stop the chronograph and just have the second hand working ?
Does the sub dial measure 1/10th or 1/20th of a second?
Does continuously keeping the seconds hand running in the chronometer hurt the mechanism or only should be used when needed and left alone most of the time?

Maybe I'm too late for the video but how do I activate all the small dials ?
Does the Weekender share the same movement as the MK1 chronograph? The subdials are located in the same position .
Is there any trick to use only the long pointer to work as normal clock by seconds?
start the chrono at the same time the watch's second hand crosses 60
I lose time on the regular hands when I mess around with the chronograph. Is this a common issue?
Actually. more important question, if the Chronograph stops, does that mean it stops the entire running time, so date, hours and minutes? Do I need to reset my chronograph every 4 hours?

Cooking, timing your commute, telling your kids you'll time them when they go get you a beer.
I use it in the medical field all the time to count heart rate and respirations
Thank you but i still dont get it why it has to be so complicated

Its cute how they animated the running seconds hand to appear like a mechanical movement 😅

But the 1/10 hand should start to move every hour, right?
Nice
Why is the second hand moves like a mechanical watch? Is it not quartz based?

I get how the chronograph works now...but why is the chronograph a good thing? Seems like a lot of unnecessary functions.
Back in good ol' days it was used widely in Motorsport hence the name Rolex Daytona
Stopping time. Good for many things like making a good cup of tea.
Phones made them obsolete but back then during foot or car races, everyone used these.
I would need to calculate my speed at running, but the thing is that you should know exactly the distance you run.
I’d say that it is more for looks, not practical for use
Wow, I didn't know all.
Funny thing is most guys with high end watches or dive watches barely even tell the time on their machines.
guess mine is just broken, then
what is a watch?
