    Hey there I have question for you. Why didn’t you use the factory wiring? I’ve read other reviews where it’s basically plug and play... Thanks for your time . Also the car did NOT have factory fog lights.. Do you know if the factory wiring has power? Do they turn on with headlights or a separate switch? Thanks again

      I think you need to replace the switch on the steering wheel too , if you want to use the factory plugs. But that may not work either . I’m still trying to figure that out . I’d like to use the factory plugs , since they already exist , and i have a hybrid so that box where he put the switch is already taken

    Thanks, that was very useful. I like how you just wired it to the headlamps instead of doing it the difficult route and wired it inside to the fuse box.

      Bobby Clemente I’m glad you found it useful. Hooking it up to the lights made it easier for my wife. Just make sure to hook the main power wire to the battery and the relay input to the headlight power wire so you don’t overload the headlight circuit

      I bought a H11 Splitter and H11 extension cable and plugged it with the headlight. Seems to be working so far. Will it have any issue with fuse?

    Dont use the yellow wire , cut the bule wire from the switch wire( only if your bypassing the switch ) connect the blue wire to the headlight like he did, not the yellow wire.

    Thanks, I installed the lights with factory wired. Where do I find the relay and fuse box? Are those somewhere in factory wiring?

      Unfortunately I don’t have the wiring diagram for this car so I don’t know for sure. Sorry

      Check your turn signal. Should be a rotating collar to the right of your headlight control. Should indicate green fog light above fuel gauge when rotated. Hope this helps. Only activates when headlight are on.

    I just ordered some fog lights from amazon (2007 Camry). Just to be sure all you did was use the wiring harnesses provided with the shipment but instead of using the factory connection (the one hidden behind the bumper) you spliced the headlights connected to the relay wire & connected the power cord (red wire) to fuse box or battery terminal & im guessing the ground somewhere else?? Pls correct me if I’m wrong.

    • @kenswenson1976
      @kenswenson1976  6 лет назад

      Mr Sakapfet509 exactly correct. And the ground wire just went to a screw on the frame that was convenient to where the harness worked out to be

    • @hotboycam33
      @hotboycam33 6 лет назад

      Ken Swenson ok so I get the whole you splicing into the headlight but what happened to the original positive wire from the headlight connector? ( basically I see how you worked it to power fogs & headlights but I’m curious as to how did that specific headlight power on if you spliced it’s positive wire the brown wire)

    • @kenswenson1976
      @kenswenson1976  6 лет назад

      The power wire still goes to the headlight. I just tapped off of it to also be the trigger for the relay(rather then going to the supplied switch) so I didn't overload the headlight circuit. The main power come off of the fuse box and is fuse protected.

      Ken Swenson hey just wanted to say Thank you because I followed the way you did the fogs & everything went smoothly ... my only concern is that it seems like the car is idling(shaky) heavier overall just really shaky I made sure to tighten the battery terminals

    • @kenswenson1976
      @kenswenson1976  6 лет назад

      Mr Sakapfet509 the car shouldn’t shake. Does the car still shake when you turn off the lights? The only time I notice the shake on my car is at idle with the AC turned on

    Can you please tell me what gauge is the extention cable

    If I use the factory wiring on a 2007 Camry do I have to purchase anything other than the factory switch? Is that the multi-purpose switch controlling the head lights, turn signals and parking lights? Is there a fuse I need to purchase too?

    • @kenswenson1976
      @kenswenson1976  6 лет назад +1

      That’s a good question. I didn’t end up using the factory wiring so I didn’t research what it would take. Being that they seem to have pre-wired it I think a switch and fuse would be reasonable for what is needed. You would need to find a wiring diagram to see what is needed

    Why didn't you use the factory cable and decided to use the one you bought, im in the same predicament. Thanks

    • @kenswenson1976
      @kenswenson1976  6 лет назад +1

      anglngr9 if I had used the factory wiring I would have needed to get the factory fog light switch. For this car I just wanted them on at the same time as the headlights were on, so this just made it simple and I didn’t have to buy ant additional parts.

      there seems to be some missing instructions on how you wired that version: using the head lamp browm wire?

    • @kenswenson1976
      @kenswenson1976  5 лет назад

      Joseph M. Fernandez sorry I missed your comment. The brown wire is the power wire to the headlights. I used it to trigger my relay that way there’s no extra load on the headlight circuit. Could also do it on the running light circuit if you want them on without the headlights

    • @serge4856
      @serge4856 2 года назад

      Some cars are missing the relay and 3 wires under the dash. Conector II pin 3 needs to goto pin 4( this provides power to foglight relay. Connector IL pin 8 to ground (normally the ecm would provide this ground if you had oem Fog Light stalk). FogLight will be on all the time. So I connected wire from connector IL pin 8 to aftermarket button then from button to ground.

      Kendry Rojas I believe it would be the same kit

    • @chrisdr03

      Ken Swenson no men its longer the se version I bought I regular fog ligths nothing . And in amazon dont apperence

    • @kenswenson1976
      @kenswenson1976  6 лет назад

      Kendry Rojas there is a adaptor part that goes on the front to make it from rectangle to round. Then on the back side of the bumper there are hole to bolt the sound lights to. Did you watch the whole video? I tried to show all of that in the video. It doesn’t look like the right parts at first but it works out

    Fog lamps are supposed to be used only in foggy situations. That is why there should be a switch.

    • @kenswenson1976

      Jiateng Wang Fog lights were designed for fog but can also be used for additional light where desired. The wire harness comes with a switch if you want to hook it up. My wife just wanted them on anytime she was driving at night.
