That was huge for Alvarez & the Mets! Huge❕Not only did it win the game which was needed versus a top team but had to be a huge confidence booster for Francisco. Alvarez is crucial to this team. Maybe this gets him going. Maybe this has woken the dragon.😆
We saw how bad the Mets & especially the pitching suffered while he was injured. He’s a great defensive catcher but also calls a great game. Anyway Francisco hit 26 homers as a rookie. There is a reason he was ranked as the top prospect in MLB two years ago. Alvarez is critical to the pitching staff & is an important power bat who is only going to get better. Dude bro is only 22 but is a precocious leader on this gritty team.
Other young MLB players like Gunnar Henderson & Jackson Holliday deservedly get a lot of hype but the Baby Mets who are vital to this team like Alvarez & Mark Vientos rarely get attention despite being in the Big Apple
Love our booth as we have the best in baseball with Gary, Ron & Keith but c’mon Keith & Ron you gotta have confidence in your guys. I don’t care what people say there is an announcer jinx. Of course I’m one of those superstitious baseball players when I played & still am. If an announcer says something like”Player X has never homered off of Pitcher Z. Pitcher Z has owned Player X.” You know it’s gonna be 💥BOOM💥 Home Run.
