    I remember sitting in a classroom nearly 40 years ago with the lecturer trying to explain this. I never really grasped it. I went through it over and over again, but it never really clicked. So I watched your video once, and everything fell into place. Thanks. It's so easy when you get someone to explain it the way you do. Great work and its much appreciated.

    It's been over a year and a half since this video was posted, I'm going to assume part 6 just isn't happening. It's a shame, I found this series to be one of the best I've seen on RUclips and that's really saying something. As far as I'm concerned this along with your power grid and motor videos tops anything Dave Jones has ever done. I understand these videos take a lot of time and energy, and you can't turn it into a full time job, but I really wish you would go back to this type of content. I find the small projects to be interesting, I have a hard time getting into the lab reports, and I think the only thing that is going to come out of the EDM project is a boost in AVE's Patreon income. On the other hand, the videos where you delve into the theory and inner workings of the subject matter are fantastic because you are so damn good at it. Just one subscribers opinion for what its worth.

    Thanks for explaining things so practically. I've known the formula's for a long time, but knowing the formula's doesn't guarantee that you really understand what is going on. You do a great job communicating what is going on. So even after four years of university I finally learned a lot. Big thumbs up!

    In my opinion, the best one yet. You're doing a better job at explaining this than my teachers ever did, keep it up. Another video on inductance and inductors is definitely warranted, though; I'd wager that knowledge about basic magnetics is rather more obscure than knowledge about basic electronic circuits.

    Its sometimes really frustrating in college when your instructor listening you explaining those things instead they are the one who supposed to explain to his student. Thanks so much for these videos. I really understand and learn a lot. hope to see more videos. God bless

    Great series thus far. Genuinely learning a great deal. I am fairly aware of a lot of the properties you talk about but you are just tying it all together so well and introducing such powerful analogies that my understanding is growing by an order of magnitude. Adding the 'spark' to make the leaps in concept required.
    Thank you for putting in so much time and effort. I sincerely mean that.

    Good video! Very clearly explained. When I first learned all this stuff, it might have taken maybe an afternoon of reading and thinking to understand it, but you've compressed with into 26 minutes.
    It's clear what it implies about air gaps in transformers as well, how the whole transformer is basically defined by the gap rather than ferrite because it is the majority reluctance is often not immediately apparent to a beginner.

    This is the first page i actually subcribed to on youtube after years of browsing. After three years of phsyics at the university, this series is the best comprehensive and complete explanation of any design/theoretical piece i have come across so far.

    Your video tutorials are the best! I appreciate the time involved in putting this series together and look forward to the continuation of the series. I learned so much about magnetism and what it really is, especially the similarity between electrical circuits; and I have worked in electronics for almost 50 years.

    alright its not just fans you are showing knowledge too but also fellow inventors and in many cases you are provided a braces for the future of modern electronics. you deserve recognition for these efforts but at the same time will you deny yourself the same recognition? this series is undone and it has inspired me to another career how many others uve helped Idk. I will remember what uve shown but I look foward to what u will show. and how you will not be forgotten.

    Just finished watching the videos of SMPS series all at once. I must say, the best tutorial on power conversion I found. Your presentation style and skill doesn't need to mention that how much efforts you have given to make these great videos.
    I also used to teach some electronics to beginner students and can understand that how much tiresome it can be to create demonstration and experiment circuits.
    Hats off. Eagerly waiting for the next videos. :)

    I know you burned out with part 5, but part 6 is more engineering and part 7 till 10 are more and more exciting.
    You are so talented for making electronics simple, native, please finish this serial.
    Hard part is over, now do what you are best in. Engineering thinking and understanding.
    Please, take a little of your time and put attention to magnetic and SMPS, you will be glad about yourself.

    The hard part is learning the terminology and jargon; made especially difficult by the many uses of the Greek lettering system. Once the vocabulary can be memorized and related to the corresponding electrical terms it is fairly straight forward to work with the equations.
    On another note;
    where are the other parts to this series!!! I remember going through and watching all the other videos MONTHS ago just to get to the end and realize that it wasn't finished. I realized that I had caught up to the latest and just had to wait. I just finished going through and slowly watching all the parts again thinking that by now it would be concluded. Only to find out that it hasn't changed for almost a year and a half.
    You must know that I subscribed to this channel after only watching a couple videos due to the quality of the content; you make great videos so I wouldn't want you to rush and put out a half-assed attempt. I know these videos take much time and effort but know that these are some of the most important videos on your channel.
    Maybe before you move on with the TIG welder project you should bring the rest of us up to speed on these SMPS's so that we can grasp your current/future reverse engineering better.
    My ultimate SMPS goal is to build an AC/DC capable TIG/Stick welder with all the customizable settings a modern Inverter welder should have. I very much want to follow your journey; so please don't leave your students in the dust.

      Great. Helping so many people is more than I could ever have hoped for. I guess it is time for me to finish part 6 and make people understand how voltages are induced in inductors and what hysteresis is. But it will be hard for me to keep the high standard that I have set for myself with this video.
