I have literally watched every video you have made for well over a year... The filmography, the sound quality and the editing is 10 out of 10... But that isn't the only reason you are so great.... It is your personality... That gets 11 out of 10! Keep up the great work!
Cheaper than a petrol/diesel car but probably same as the bus. You're right - things are not ready, sadly. Great insight - thank you for taking the time to make this.
Great concept Lee to combine travel, food and EV to some interesting places. I love the little towns you visit and what kind of hotels you end up in. Keep 'em coming. Cheers Phil
Was watching another channel, RSymonds who specialise in EV's, mainly Tesla. He did a John O Groats to Landsend in record time vlog, worth checking out. He said its a waste to charge car to 100% all the time. Above 80% it slows down the charge so might as well get going rather than wait. Also best not to let it drop below 10% as initial charging will be slower also. Why do you call it a bathroom break lol we are not in the US.
Ther next time you are in Scotland, there is a Chip Shop in Kirkcaldy called Valentes, they have been in business for over 100 years, they even have their outlet on a brown sign. It is on Overton Road. Ask for a Breaded Icelandic Boneless Haddock, they make their own curry sauce as well. They do their own Ice cream too. Absolutely amazing chippy.
Beautiful fish and chips in a beautiful place. It's been scorching this week in Glasgow Lee! Those ev chargers are a problem wherever you go Lee. Too much stress. Have a lovely weekend. 🥰🌞🥰Xxx
What a farce with the chargers, I dont know how you put up with it all !!! Pitlochry is gorgeous, the areas around there just magnificent. Take care xx
John o Groats to Perth ionity chargers is only 230 miles. Easily managed on without stopping! Plus, when you arrive with low charge you’ll get much faster charging speeds to 80%!
In lockdown i did Brum to Lands End via the west coast and back M5. Two days, 650 miles, one tank of fuel in Berlingo. At the time about 55 quid. Weather was gorgeous, through all the villages i passed through never saw any children playing out in the sunshine. What a sad state of affairs.
Another great travel vlog Lee. I love Pitlochry it’s a beautiful stunning place up there in the Highlands. Have stayed at a self catering cottage and a hotel there, however I cannot remember McKays fish & chips. It really is a laborious job recharging electric cars you must be so tired off it. Anyway keep up the good work and I look forward to the next one👌😉
I have seen quite a few reactors like you mate coming to Scotland and trying the fish n chips, however not one of you have ever tried the Scottish 'special fish supper', it's a couple a quid more expensive and it's coated in breadcrumbs not batter. The vibrant orange breadcrumbs against the virgin white fresh fish is a sight to behold lol
I've never had to wait as long as 20 minutes to use a petrol pump. I once had to wait a quarter of an hour at a rural filling station in deepest rural South Africa but then the owner did have to nip off on his bicycle to find his assistant who had locked the pump and nipped off with the keys......
Another great vlog Lee. Fish and chips looked very good, fresh and quality food. 9 from me. As for the car chargers, rate them 3. They have no future, so many maintenance issues. Onwards !!! I actually did the drive Scotland to Cornwall in 1997 in a VW Polo ! lol. Been to Pitlochry, lovely little town. You should have prebooked your hotels on the way, sleeping in the car is not a proper sleep.
Danny from 'Rate My Takeaway' is on a US Tour sponsored by Parliament brand cigarettes. He rated the airline's food at the bar in the First Class section of Virgin Airlines. He took his foldable chair and table to New York and he went to Joe's Pizza in New York and had three huge different slices of pizza. One was a white pizza. You should watch the video where he went to the expensive steakhouse, Heliot's and travelled on Virgin Airlines, 'BIG Surprise for the CAMERAMAN' and the one today with him at Joe's Pizza.
Charging time compared to filling up a petrol/diesel car is a no brainer. Hours as opposed to minutes ! Enjoying the fact that you are proving that the vehicles are ready for use BUT the infrastructure IS NOT. x
Haha...you made it. Now just imagine that journey north when the weather really is crap. The A9 between Perth and Inverness and from Inverness north can be remote and desolate during the winter....I used to commute up/down that road every Friday and Sunday evenings for 3 years. Whilst talking about weather....this part of the world isn't always as cold as you make out in this video. Awesome fish and chip shop in Beauly the last time I was there. The Ralia "services" is a handy stop. Charging for the toilet is new to me...used to be free and open 24 hours but this has obviously changed. (If you have to pay 10 bob to go then you might as well make it worth while and have a 💩 as well😉). Journey back south to Lands End should be easier because it's all downhill from John O'Groats😉😂 Thanks for another great vid👍
I am in this video I was behind you in the line when ordering. My daughter is a big RUclips fan and recognised you as you were leaving I wish we had said hello now 😂 I had the same as you I was very impressed and can't wait to visit again next summer! Keep up the food content mate good to see 👍
Hi Lee! Enjoyed that! The food was miles better than at the hotel! Trump Turrnberry - take note of how to make better fish and chips and it not cost the earth either. I bet if you ordered sticky toffee pudding you’d get the right one there and wouldn’t get doubled tipped either. Nor did the chips have black bits on them. This is what I am afraid of about chargers! Not enough of them out there and are they even working when reach them. I am waiting on a new car which could take 6-9 months waiting list . I’ve gone straight with diesel again as just don’t want the hassle of that stress you go through to charge up everywhere. Been to Abington services so many times now. That’s our stopping point when going to and from Scotland. Take care 😘👍🏻
I always 'plan my journey'. I park my arse in the driver's seat & set off where I want to go. When the yellow light comes on telling me I've got 60 miles left, I pull into the next service station & fill up in 3.87 minutes. Then repeat. and repeat. Until my arse is parked at my destination with a beer & fish & chips. Keep up the good work, explaining why our politicians haven't got a Scooby's.
That’s some proper fish & chips. Good man, selecting Haddock. That’s my favorite. Used to live in London and traveled all over the UK and Scotland. We couldn’t get Haddock in California for me to make fish & chips at home, so was forced to use cod. Here in beautiful Iowa where I moved to last year, escaping Silicon Valley and California, haddock is readily available here, so I’ve been making the best fish & chips at home.
It's just so unpredictable on charging still. I remember going to Lands End as kiddie. Some really great seafood was had there. My Gran sprayed me down with OFF still some bites. WoW that Fish&Chips looked great.
had to wait 5 minutes to get diesel today while the bloke in front had to put his gloves on to use the pump.. thats enough waiting around life is too short :)
The fish and chips looked wonderful, 9/10. I'm glad that the charging was free though because the inconvenience isn't worth it for a few pounds saving. Free charging however, that's a big plus.
Hey hun them fish and chips looks amazing. Chips looks fabulous so does fish and lovely and crispy fish is perfect and white xmy score is a 10 out of 10 from me xxx

Loving these road trip vlogs & can’t wait to see what happens next🚗👍 By the way, my missus said she would have driven your car into one of the Lochs by now with all the aggro you’re having charging the damn thing 🤣
Wow wowee, the winge soliloquy has partially abated but I will be watchin'for unexpected events to spice up yer travels in the TOYCAN Electro Conveyance. FYI on the trip up the coast to John O'Groats I spotted Nessie in the loch opposite a roadside stop.

They had battered lobster tail and battered soft shell crab...and you went for haddock 😕 Nice to see you're having a healthy, varied and balanced diet...👍
Great to see Pitlochry, used to spend a lot of time there every October half term as my folks had a timeshare in the area. Sad to say I think I even recognise the car park you were in (didn't have electric charging points back in those days though). If you're ever in the area again the House of Bruar is worth a visit
I did the end-to-end journey on a bicycle 30 years ago. There was nothing at John O'groats, except the signpost and the hotel. How things have changed.
Love your videos, along with the commentary, and nice production values with the editing and all. This EV rigamarole would drive me nuts here in the U.S. I have some friends who have them but use them locally or to the train station, etc. We're well behind you here in terms of public EV charger availability. I'm old enough and set in my ways not to be much interested in multiple kinds of EV chargers & software, etc. I'm retired but I already feel as if I work for my cellphone (mobile). All gas (petrol) pumps work the same and I've been driving for over 50 years. Planning ahead in order to drive 250 miles to Boston (for example) if the need should suddenly arise? No thank you. I'm a bit familiar with the terrain you covered; did some driving north of Edinburgh many years ago, but not nearly as far as Aberdeen, not to mention John O'Groats. I think my next car could be a hybrid, but that's as far as I might go... currently still managing with a 15-year-old Toyota (petrol only). Re fish & chips: Looked very nice, but like most Yanks I would decline the mushy peas and curry sauce and look for tartar sauce for the fish and ketchup for the chips. Ever have both ketchup AND vinegar on the chips? Very nice to my taste.
Loving this journey. Looking forward to the next vlog. Electric car charging looks so stressful and time consuming though. I’m sure it will improve with time 🤞
Enjoying your ev videos, it would be helpful if you recorded how much longer the journey took in an ev, and the additional costs involved in coffees and accommodation etc.
Hi matey “ just loving your Scottish round trip at the moment, I had a lovely surprise yesterday, I walked into Iceland at Hucknall and who should I bump into was the blond Angel we had a lovely chat she’s such a lovely happy person I really enjoyed talking with her she is cheerful to say what she’s going through with her son “ I wish her son all the luck I’m the world 🌍 bless them both “ keep the videos coming I really enjoy your tours and keep happy my friend “ cheers 🚐🚐🚐😊😉😎👋👋👏👏👏✅👍👍
Watching the stress you've had with your electric car confirms to me that I wouldn't want one lol Imagine being a woman and wanting to drive long distance and having to charge your car somewhere at night and having to wait all that time? Dangerous. Loving these videos, too. Loved the Trump hotel, also :) Thank you. Love from Cyprus :) xxx
From where I am in Chesterfield to John O’groats down to lands end then back up to chesterfield it’s 1736 miles so it’s about 3 full tanks of diesel at about 630 miles per full tank. I think it like be about £250 in diesel. I think you’d beat that but it be close macmaster. Great video onto the next one
Hi Lee, I fondly remember Lands End from my trip a few years ago. I would have loved to go to the lighthouse, but I have no idea if this is even possible. Always wanted to know more about it. The sea is so beautiful and wild. Please give us a few minutes of sea views with the lighthouse once you get there. Greetings from Vienna
You are missing all the scorcio weather we are having in the NE of Scotland! Our wee village of Aboyne is regularly the hottest place in Scotland! Been in the high 20s & blue skies the whole week!👍😊 I must say I couldn’t be ar**d waiting around to charge up. My 2022 Honda CRV Hybrid can do over 450 miles, 4 up & full of luggage, on ONE tank of fuel!🤷🏻👍 Nice real world test tho Lee! Great job as usual!😊
Mister Macmaster I admire your patience running an ev..I'm afraid I would have given it back & got a petrol engine...If this is the future god help us & preserve us...excellent vlog 👌
My son got an EV 6yrs ago. Had it 8 months and gave it back to the dealership. What a nightmare! By the looks of things nothing has improved. The broken out of service chargers are a real problem and to be fair you have to be 'teck savvy' I can't be arsed. Yes, call me a dinosaur but I just don't think we're geared up for the change, probably in many moons we will be but I probably won't be here to see it! 10/10 for the fish & chips 🙂
Tesla supercharger is open for you to use at Aviemore and it’s an ultra rapid speed v the 50kwh CPS units. Kingussie is a nice stop. Nae Limits Cafe has rapid Osprey units but realistically you could’ve easily made it to Ionity Perth without stopping!
Very enjoyable watching your travels and trying out the EV charger inforstructure , have a word with Porsche and instal the fluxcapasitor and get the Porsche to run on "fish & chips"job sorted.
Take the A34 Sutton Scotney services, on one of the prime routes in the south of England , exactly 1 charger! Where is the massive installation programme needed to make electric cars viable!
Them fish and chips look dame good.I need to do that journey one day in the v8😄 one reason why I’ll stick to the v8 with all the trouble you had and I love the noise.
I once spent ten minutes waiting to fill up my vito, I found out later that day I could have put in svo and beat the queue on the forecourt and saved a few quid...😄😄 svo/uvo is better in the long run 👍
I have literally watched every video you have made for well over a year... The filmography, the sound quality and the editing is 10 out of 10... But that isn't the only reason you are so great.... It is your personality... That gets 11 out of 10! Keep up the great work!
I agree👍
Agreed 100%

Scottish fish and chips with no skin on the Haddock.

Not many tourists in Kirkcaldy
16 notes for that fish and chips meal, wowsers! Even if it was good quality, that is pricey!
Scottish fish and chips are the best. Try the battered white pudding excellent
Beautiful fish and chips in a beautiful place. It's been scorching this week in Glasgow Lee! Those ev chargers are a problem wherever you go Lee. Too much stress. Have a lovely weekend. 🥰🌞🥰Xxx

Hey Bro!!!! BIG HUGS xxx
@@TheMacMaster 💪🏽🤗🙏
I can see the fun when someone pulls in before you after you have waited for a vacant charger.
hhmmm i may park my V8 jaaaaaaaaag in one of these silly electric charging points to anger the masses :)
Pitlochry is lovely. Salmon ladder, Edradour distillery and a fantastic butchers up a side street. You should have parked at the theatre Lee.
John o Groats to Perth ionity chargers is only 230 miles. Easily managed on without stopping! Plus, when you arrive with low charge you’ll get much faster charging speeds to 80%!
Your a brave man getting an E V Lee all they do,is cost you time and inconvenience !But hope you get through it all ok best of luck mate 🤞
Lee! Did you not notice you was given two pieces of fish? you lucky devil!😋
Doing a great job Lee looking forward to tomorrows vlog.
TBH John O'Groats looks like a film set for Farher Ted! Never mind Onwards!
So 👍
New things take time. When cars first came out a man with a flag had to walk in front.

A fish and chip review. That's a first, next you must do a full English breakfast which is also rare amongst food reviewers

Loving this series lee, such a adventure, keep banging out the content, your about to go big 👍

Lol. 😂 Brilliant
Take the A34 Sutton Scotney services, on one of the prime routes in the south of England , exactly 1 charger! Where is the massive installation programme needed to make electric cars viable!
Lee the best advert for not buying a electric car brilliant video.
Them fish and chips look dame good.I need to do that journey one day in the v8😄 one reason why I’ll stick to the v8 with all the trouble you had and I love the noise.
Lovely little spot Pitlochry and yes those fish and chips are very nice 👍
Was gonna say can't be arsed with all the messing with charging at the Fish & chips, but hey FREE, can't complain at that.
Christ! Wot a palarva 🙄 I’ll stick with my diesel 😂 Fish & chips looked fabulous 😍👍🏻
Yep me to electric can do one for as long as possible
I once spent ten minutes waiting to fill up my vito, I found out later that day I could have put in svo and beat the queue on the forecourt and saved a few quid...😄😄
svo/uvo is better in the long run 👍
