A European American dude I work with asked me that. I told him I liked other Marvel movies more. He's a supremacist who's always trying to find African Americans to validate his opinion. He wanted me to say it sucked. And it did suck. I watched it twice, and Ragnarok 10 times. But I wouldn't tell him that.
What do you expect? Esp from p.c people. I remember seeing African americans wearing dashikis and traditional clothes to the cinema. You can't even speak one of the languages. That movie did not represent my culture one bit but yet again we, Africans, get grouped as one. There are 54 countries in that continent, all with different cultures and traditions. You had pro athletes doing the salute, wearing the masks etc. Gael Monfils still does the wakanda forever after every match. Even the actors are bored of it. Watch their interviews. Don't get me wrong. Was it cool to see a black character in the marvel cinema? Yeah that was sick. Was it influential? Maybe when I was a kid. But as a 28 year old male? It's just a movie.

@Merel de Jong I'd disagree. In most cases, it's pretty easy to tell when someone is black or white, simply from the pitch of their voice and the way they pronounce words.
@star · light of course, there are those people who are exceptions. I've made a couple mistakes myself when hearing voices without seeing the person behind it, but as I mentioned, I'm talking about in a general sense. Even elizabeth in this video, as you already said, has a pretty white voice. But even then, the way she pronounces some words made the distinction clear.
Merel de Jong I feel like whatever this was came off sloppy. They took a subject like race, which is inherently heavy. Then they put it into a gameshow format to win money, which is quite the opposite. If the goal was to learn something there was no interview after to show they did or didn’t. And if it was to be entertaining it only was due to the ridiculously stale stereotypical answers given. BP, music and getting pulled over sounds like bad sitcom antidotes from the early ‘90’s when it’s time to pull out the “black” episode. These people clearly have no real friends of color or any real conversations about cultural differences.

I guess because most people from any ethnicity, in the US and elsewhere, are aware of racial profiling, privilege and police violence that’s been going on forever (in the US especially). So that’s actually not a racist question in a way, since it acknowledges prejudice, inequalities and racism that’s systemic in that particular situation. Like you can’t really get a person’s ethnicity from their name, level of education, culture, because that depends on individuals inside any identity group. But you can confidently say a person must have been discriminated because of their skin color (because racism exist everywhere unfortunately and ethnic minorities in any country are way way way more often susceptible of being a victim of prejudice and discrimination). Acknowledging the fact it happens does not mean you agree with it. I’d more often consider it criticism of racism/prejudice instead. Since a racist person would be more inclined to deny it even happens. But I guess perception and feelings are different, and it’s good to know some people find that cringe, although I doubt it was coming from a bad place in that instance, thanks for sharing your view so we all learn! I personally found the Black Panther stuff way more cringe to be honest. Like, I’m white, how is watching or liking a movie with black actors, or listening to a black musician a black thing? Art is culture, it goes way further than ethnicity. But hey, to be fair, it was a tough game to play without sayin’ stupid or controversial shit that people could interpret badly. So let’s not be too hard on them. Not sure it’s that easy to guess a person’s skin colour just by listening to them.

The US being one of the most diverse country on earth, culturally and ethnically (France isn't too bad either, I'm French), the racial profiling + the police violence will statistically be higher in countries where there actually is a strong ethnic diversity. Unfortunately, the police brutality is almost everywhere, that's for sure! PS: And yeah, you're right, people in the US are privileged. A lot of them complain about things that don't matter.

@Merel de Jong they could have asked how much they take to their hair or if they have ever used a toothbrush to comb c:
@Merel de Jong I'd disagree. In most cases, it's pretty easy to tell when someone is black or white, simply from the pitch of their voice and the way they pronounce words.
@star · light of course, there are those people who are exceptions. I've made a couple mistakes myself when hearing voices without seeing the person behind it, but as I mentioned, I'm talking about in a general sense. Even elizabeth in this video, as you already said, has a pretty white voice. But even then, the way she pronounces some words made the distinction clear.
Maybe that was the point. Controversial yes, but REALity
Merel de Jong I feel like whatever this was came off sloppy. They took a subject like race, which is inherently heavy. Then they put it into a gameshow format to win money, which is quite the opposite. If the goal was to learn something there was no interview after to show they did or didn’t.

@Ryan Johnson True that, but Russia and China aren't really great examples for democratic societies. I guess the debate is about western countries, since the entire paradigm, debate, and approach has to be changed if we talk about Russia, China, the Golf, or third world countries. But I also should have explained myself better ("that have", not "that's been going on forever", I meant the "racial profiling + the police brutality" have been going on forever.

Reminds me of after I watched John Q, I wanted Denzel Washington to be my dad, but he said there was no way. 😮😥 🃏
That's just a children's mentality. I had the opposite happening just recently with one of my nieces. She's white and platinum blonde and she wanted to be Moana. Her friend who's black told her that she doesn't look like Moana and should instead be Elsa from Frozen or Rapunzel. They're all like 7 years old and have no concept of racism. So they just thought that it's better if people looked more similar to the characters they wanted to be. Happened to me too when I was a kid in the 90s. My favorite princess was always Jasmine but I'm also blonde and blue eyed and I was told I couldn't be Jasmine by my friends. Broke my heart lol. But there was nothing behind it. Children's reasoning is just too simple to understand such complexities.
@@LinneAzalea totally agree, kids just want to match things up, but people these days quite often try to make something seem racist so they can call it out and pretend to have done a good deed.
My cousin from the south who hunts and is basically just a southern American that happens to be black but could be white, would make these people’s heads explode.
Ngl its seems like being rascist would be a legit strategy
Just bringing up stereotypes wouldve made it easier Brock Pelfrey
I deadass would've been a sell out told everyone from the jump I'm tryna win all the stereotypes are coming out lol
I like when people usually think of a black guy when the names Tre, Andre, and Tyrone are mentioned....not realizing those names are rooted in Europe.
Really just goes to show how corrupted American culture already is. Tainted by all sorts of "washing", possibly "brainwashing" the most.
Tico DeCicco I actually think of a seal when I hear the name “andre”
It’s too early in the morning for this 😂😂 I love Preach’s laugh so much lol
Ratoya Banks he be having me weak😂😂
It's contagious!
I watched this with my earbuds in and my husband thinks I'm nuts cuz when Preach laughs I laugh harder. 🤣🤣🤣
I like how they still used the red light when it ended even though they could obviously tell if she was still in there when they took the masks off.
I'm a little annoyed that after they took off their masks, the one girl started saying "GIRRRL!" I was like here we go! She felt a step away from calling her "GIRLFRIEND" and moving her neck around in a supposedly sassy way.
Yeah I peeped that. 🙄
I tried to find this but I couldn't see any sass at that scene???
??? What’s the problem here
The whole premise of this game is stupid and racist.....why is this even a thing ?
i think its all about the irony. i run a discord with over one thousand people. until we started streaming everybody thought most of us where black.......
i guess becuase they only hear our voice. we like hip hop. and come from the city, we are black?
and most of the black people i my self included thought where white.
big on going joke, nobody really gave a fuck its just you have an image of somebody when you only hear there voice . and its funny to think that.
one guy was a fat gay asian teacher, that one was probably hte most shocking.
I know right? What's even crazier is - like Aba and Preach said - if they were being honest and having more fun with these stereotypes, it would most certainly end every single one of their careers. This is not okay. You either don't want racial stereotypes or you do.
@Dale Gribble and that's the problem right there
This comment reminds me of the whole DaBaby situation.
They have a bunch of videos just like this that are intended to subvert stereotypical expectations, but soon as you see this video it's racist and doesn't need to exist?
It's as if there wasn't already a trend lol
DaBaby has always been violent as shit and probably still is violent to this day, but that one time he smacked that woman sure as hell will keep coming up

Lmao
I once had a 60+ year old, white, ex FBI agent sing this song in class on a regular basis for an unknown reason.
That was stupid. The moment she said "That's crazy" they should have known.
Deadass thought her ass was out when she said it
Jonathan Arias white americans don’t tend to imitate black americans very well, so I knew she was safe lol
I call shit crazy all the time. I didn't even take notice of it.
honestly after she said that i tensed up for her. i wanted her to get that $$ and she did
Preach’s smile after the HR statement 🙌🏿😭
When Preach laughs I immediately start laughing. Infectious
I never noticed but Preach is right... *Aba does kinda sound like Ray Ramono.*
Facts! I can't believe I never realized it before
The look on Aba's face after Preach said that is why we get those "We're not Friends" videos every couple of months...
CARTOONIVERSE1 thanks I hate it and I can't unhear it
Where have you been? 🤦🏻♀️ lol, he sounds just like him.
Before aba even said anything i was like “Elizabeth got that thumper!”
AXQ 7 I’ll give you that. You right. Elizabeth ain’t the only one.
I think she tried to be nice so she wouldn't get targeted not to act white.
Preach the smile from "HR" at 5:50 is on point🤣

When you said your name was Eric with an H, at first my dumb ass was thinking 'Heric?!'
SAME HOLY FUCK I AM DUMB
How to figure out who isn't black " So what was your favorite episode of Martin"

The get pulled over, and the being nice thing so hilarious 😂😂😂😂👏
My last name French, first name is Slavic my middle name is Catherine and I was born in the islands and black as hell lmao. It’s crazy when when ppl see me name then I walk into the room the response have me screaming 😂😂😂😂 they are so shocked and stop fumbling. And to top it off I married a black man with the last name Lee this shit could not be more funny.
FYI Catherine is also of French origin. Do you have French roots in your family at all. Even culturally?
Vanasha isn't a Slavic name.
Ok but really, that's a nice name.
🤣🤣🤣🙌🏾🙌🏾
1.Haiti?
2.You ate sure Vanasha is a slavic name? Looks more like an Indo-Aryan or dravidic name to me.
As often as people talk about traits as if they're inherently black or white traits is obnoxious and I don't know how we've all survived this long.
Its a probability based on culture. You ever been to a cookout before? There is always chicken ALWAYS!!!!! But man that pie that they got at the cookout 😋. There ain’t anything better then that

"Do you prefer grape kool-aid or Mountain Dew?"
nnich19 Fried chicken or fried chicken?
What the fuck is grape juice i want that purple drink
I wish they would have had the mole not be able to lie. Because when the mole lies, you are just going off stereotypes.
"What do y'all think about fried chicken"
I'm dead😂😂😂😂
The HR voice has me on the floor.. y'all are hilarious
When she said she loved Justin Bieber they should have asked follow up questions like, "oh? What's your favorite album?"
alterangel182 she did seemed like she likes him though
She studied. Sis had this on lock. Personally I would've said Talor Swift and 1989.
except nobody really likes Justin Bieber so they wouldn't have known any to catch her out
I would have said, oh you like Justin beiber, I still don't know what colour you are but, I now know your 12
My answer to that would have outed me... ''The one with the hair...?''
This is where Aba found Elizabeth
