    Roland would have gotten roasted to death if they released an EX 0 version.

    Watching your video... Wanted to ask this. If you have to bring a speaker that will need real power, what is the real benefit of having a keyboard that doesn't require it. Since you will need a power drop anyway?

    I don’t know. Seems like Roland keeps slicing the same bread thinner and thinner. Fantom EX, Fantom O, Juno X, and Juno D, JU-06A, and Cloud all capable of covering the Juno sound space. Seems like they are afraid of doing something new that isn’t old. How do you want your Juno.
    Enough with trying to figure out how many times you can cycle through the same sounds. They are doing the same to some extent with Jupiter.

      You know this is clearly a successor for juno ds series. Do you really want them to not update their products? Do you want them to keep selling juno ds with bad screen and keys for the next 50 years, or do you want them to keep their product lineup modern?

    Before you buy this first find out the truth about polyphony on this. The Fantom range was advertised as 256 but in real terms that is no where near the amount. Filter slopes, partials(oscillators), sustain pedal, etc fast run out and drop voices even from the piano sound. Roland are very deceitful with their marketing in these new boards. Beware folks, beware.

    • @JuliusDeBerryJr

    The class compliance is one of the biggest selling point on the Juno-d. I have a Jupiter Xm. I wish it had class compliant audio. It would be the perfect mobile solution with iPad. Juno D is ticking some of those boxes but I’d like to hear what the real polyphony is and test the keybed on the 76 and 88 key versions.

    • @Khordmaster
      @Khordmaster  Час назад

      so the keybed is the same as the fantom 07 / 08 ... which I think i mention in here how the 06 I liked but the 08 not so much. but yeah I agree... Im surprised so many boards Ive tested DONT have class compliancy... for the iPad purpose you mentioned plus being able to use with my iPhone to record content etc. would make things so much easier

    I have the Juno Ds-61 and it's served me well for years. An updated version sounds epic, I probably won't upgrade bc I'm saving up for a Teo 5 but maybe someday.

      nice, I've used the DS61 for a bit and really enjoyed it and it's simplicity. Right now I am really considering what a D61 (or 88) would look like for me as a replacement for the fantom EX 6 and novation launchkey 49 mk3 (that is sorta just sitting around, not being used)

    Thank you for acknowledging that the Fantom is heavy!!! I have the flagship Fantom myself I don’t carry it out as much as I want to because it’s heavy!!! I use my FA as my aux board!!! I do want the Juno D 6 for my aux or third aux!!! My deal breaker would be how to transition patches!!! Btw I’m thinking about buying the Kronos first but it will be the same issue as the Fantom I heard its heavy too!!!also I would use it for small rehearsals it has the inessentials!!!!

  • @jbognap

    The class compliant USB for audio/MIDI on the Juno D really caught my eye. I'd prefer the linear sequencer of the FA-06. The Fantom-06 has a pattern sequencer and is not class compliant and the Juno D has no sequencer to speak of, but is class compliant. I think I could get along with a Juno D and an iPad sequencer like Logic or Cubasis, and have two-way audio and MIDI. I'd treat the iPad as a large touch screen on the Juno D. (Oh, by the way, the Yamaha Moxf6 has a class compliant USB B interface for audio and MIDI in the final firmware.)

    • @Khordmaster

      interesting, I am sure the Juno D has some type of pattern sequencer or something in there. I thought I saw it in a video. for sure it does because the TR Rec buttons are there

    Not sure how I feel about this. I have a Juno X and bought it since I previously owned a Juno 106. Not sure if this new rig should have the Juno name. Maybe I’m just old school or just stubborn. Seems like it’s a new breed and should have it’s own unique product name. The Fantom O series was still a Fantom (but stripped). This Juno looks like a totally new product.

    • @Khordmaster
      @Khordmaster  6 дней назад +1

      yeah I kinda agree... I don't have a full understanding/appreciation of all the history but knowing that the Juno (like the model ex on the fantom) is a full fledged vintage synth, this seems like a totally different product!

    • @jaredpsloan
      @jaredpsloan 6 дней назад

      Juno is just Roland's name for it's more economically priced, stripped down keyboards. The Juno 106 was a response to the more expensive Jupiter 8. It's not based on the soundset or features specifically. And theyve has digital rompler juno keyboards for 20 years.

    • @segwaydave
      @segwaydave 5 дней назад

      @@jaredpsloan I hear you but… The Juno has its “special place” in synth history. The Juno 106 is no where near the Jupiter. However, it has its place in history and/or user base. Your argument is valid however, the Juno name is somewhat special - just like the Jupiter, Fairlight, DX7, Emu II, D50, etc. I sorta feel its like Lamborghini selling a VW bug with a Lamborghini badge.

    There is similar keyboard from Yamaha - CK61. It doesn't have a sequencer or drum sounds, but it has real organ drawbars. CK61 has speakers and runs on batteries. I've also heard about Roland polyphony issues and hidden costs on some keyboards. I think on RD-8 you have to pay $200 to unlock audio over USB.
    I have Yamaha MODX 7 and thinking about buying more portable keyboard with simpler user interface.
    Can't you try drum pattern ideas on an iPad if you don't want to use a computer?

    Fantom-06 does give you some SuperNatural sounds and the Virtual Tonewheel organ. Plus you can expand with the vintage models. So…definitely some other advantages, but at a cost!
