Finally someone who actually has a simple but effective method. I’ve seen so many videos, posts, adverts and tried so many products

Good video, and I like the idea of a series on maintenance. There are already tons of bike maintenance videos on RUclips, but I think where you can bring value is showing the method as you would do it at home, then show how you modify the method when in the field, like day 4 of a 7 day trip. Would be good to see what you bring for tools on a bikepacking trip and hope you compromise weight and bulk against the “completeness” of your tool kit. Bon travail avec ta chaîne.

@@aldunne2001thanks ! That is exactly of what i want to do. I will do a mecanics series with bush craft techniques that could save the day in a bikepacking trip !

Better to take the back wheel out to save the bearings. Put the chain on the axle with a dummy roller.

I heard to be careful not to e.g.use DW40 for cleaning chains, as it supposedly also removes the internal greasing of the chain. Your method seems to also probably get rid of ALL kinds of grease...is that really good?
Also, you are dumping the grease on the ground...i.e. the environment...so, again... maybe not so good, unless biodegradable oil is used🤔

Yes you are not suppose to use wd-40 on chain… and I would be worried to contaminate my brakes !

GT85 then jet wash, literally 2 minutes.
