The Last Bastion cinematic from 6 years ago makes a lot more sense now, it's almost poetic. An Omnic designed to destroy humans, waking up with a choice, seeing the consequences of war, and choosing to kick it in the woods with Ganymede instead.
It's even more poetic that Bastion never had a choice. Bastion units are not omnics, so they were never given an awakening (seen in the video the disproportionate number of Bastion units in the ana shot at the end). Bastion MADE their own choice, through sheer force of will and curiosity, a sort of second aurora.

After watching this, Ramattra’s disdain for Anubis is understandable. From what I can tell, he wants freedom, and Anubis to him is like an evil god who held him and his people prisoner. Also interesting to know what the deal with the Iris is.
What I want the iris to be is to be an over powered source of power and wisdom but I also want doom fist and his company to try harnessing it for power and hanzo to come while ow looses and use the sword for the first time since his battle combining the two dragons since he would take genji sword and fight with doom and win even when doom has the iris but this kills hanzo so while hanzo thought he killed his brother before he sacrifices himself for him

Oh, She absolutely did. Aurora finally reached her enlightenment at that moment, and She became the *Iris* that gave the Omnics the ability to finally see themselves for the first time.
I cry nonstop to OW's Story, without Fail. It did'nt take much to do this to us (I presume it applies to us all), just an Honest Reflection of Reality with a Shimmer of Hope and loads of Aesthetic pre-installed. 🫶🏽

I think I remember reading somewhere echo is essentially a copy of liaos mind and arguably sentient because of this. I think its somewhat just an inconsistency in the lore created by genesis coming after all the rest. The characters certainly treat echo as sentient

i'd say your 100% coorect on that to be honest. i can see this right here happaning or something like halo. AI can be used for good but if we try to shoot to the star to fast now something like this could be bad.

I love how overwatch blends technology with religious themes so well. Like, i never would've thought the omnics gained sentience through the first one reaching enlightenment like that. Its very beautiful and unique... Im still sad about the scrapped story mode tbh
You're telling me that Anubis built thousands of robots, some the size of buildings and no one noticed. In real life Anubis would've been destroyed within the week of its activation.
To be fair it looked like when the initial surprise of a Omnic revolt happened, Anubis had only modified normal Omnics and made them combat ready. The big boys were a later addition in the war. But by that time, Anubis was already too defended to shut him down

I really would've, wanted to see what could've been done with the story mode. Seeing the possibility of more enemies and new PVE designs.

They could’ve been built underground or in the ocean, that or they were built later on in the war when the elements of surprise had disappeared
