the refresh RST for this year look so amazing i would rather have that before I have to spend 80k for a highcountry with low payload but this is a amazing truck for small family of 3 and a 6,500 lb travel trailer or boat. Amazing for outdoor men that has a 18’ utility trailer with their UTV and fishing boats. Only thing I would change is to have a max towing package with the 5.3 (3.42) or the duramax with the 3.73 axle because of towing a 17’ Jon boat or a 7,500 lb utility trailer
Beautiful truck, love the interior, also the cherry red tintcoat, one of the sharpest colors on the Silverado's, I bought one 3 weeks ago, same color, drove 200 miles to pick it up, excellent video, thanks for sharing.
I just purchased a 2022 1500 RST Glacier Blue Metallic. Mine came with the 20"black Trailboss wheels. The black bow ties are worn out. The mirror should have been flat black to mat h the plastic or color matched. Overall so far I am happy. The 10speed transmission is better than the 8 speed hands down.
Good looking truck but GM has got to start putting a little more aggressive tire on the their 4X4’s and stop putting street/highway tires on them. It doesn’t has have to real aggressive but, something like the Michelin off road or the Goodyear Terrain tires. The interior is nicely updated and looks fantastic. Thanks for the video review JB.
I do like that GM offers a good line of decent tires especially on the HD trucks compared to Ram, you spend $100k on a DRW Ram, they give you Nexen tires or Firestones on SRW that typically come standard on work trucks. Thanks Ric 👍🏾
Nice review bro. I gotta think if I owned a truck that color I would get tired of looking out in the driveway and seeing it though. However knowing that it has more payload than a 2500 ram diesel mega cab would make it easier to look at lol🇺🇸💪
As long as the truck doesn't have the shitty cylinder deactivation it might be half good but with it I'd rather walk. My 2021 rst 5.3 went through 2 major engine jobs in the first 20k miles cuz of it. Went to Dodge and I finally feel safe towing.
@@JB_WhoWork I have started legal actions over a year ago after the 2nd engine job and they want nothing to do with it. They say it works as it is supposed to and have been fixed properly even if the problem happened twice. And not to forget I've had the truck at the shop every 2 weeks for a transmission update/reprogrammation because the thing would not shift in first or sometimes engages 8th speed at 15mph which cause bad vibration and almost a stall
@@JB_WhoWork thanks man! Pretty sure I just got a lemon of a Chevy but I just didn't feel safe in it anymore and with the prices on used these days I didn't lose much. Keep up the good work!
mine had electrical issues, chevy couldnt fix it so i took it to a old buick dealer by me and they informed me that the chevy dealer did a hack job repairing my harness which rubbed on the ground and shorted mostly all my parts, buick called gm to report issue they sent out a engineer in the area to verify and sure enough all my electrical was replaced, sad but now it works fine no issues thanks to a honest buick dealer.I took a look at dealer price for repair parts with labor were over 14 grand due to motor and trans and stabiltrack, had a rental for 3 weeks. So i will be going back to that honest buick dealer.
Hi there. Love your videos. Just wanted to get your input. Looking at getting a truck. I like the simple things in a truck, not to crazy about technology, but do appreciate some of it. For everyday driving, and occassionally towing a carolina skiff 21 ls or 23 ls, would a Chevy Silverado// 5.3 L V-8 4WD//10 speed transmission//3.23 ratio//trailer package//integrated brake controller, be sufficient. I'm gonna buy one new, ordered, starting with a work truck trim, and add the things i want, versus the other trims, that have all that technology that I would take a lifetime to master---pretty sad!!!! Give me your opinion--much appreciated...
Nice little review. The new interior looks nice. Looks properly modern but still instantly recognizable to GM guys. As for the no DFM it’s probably a good thing that the truck doesn’t have the software to make the system work however it still has the DFM lifters. Hopefully having them not work to shut cylinders down will greatly reduce the potential to fail but it’s worth noting they are the same lifters in a truck that has a working DFM system.
Thanks for sharing, I’m assuming GM is noticing the failures and is deciding to delete it, or it could be parts supply issue… Either way it’s 1 step ahead of RAM which still uses MDS although the failures seem to be happening more over 100k 👍🏾
@@JB_WhoWork yeah I wish they would just do away with it. That’s one of the reasons I was gung ho about getting a 6.6 gasser. They just have regular lifters and aside from being direct injected they are just a typical LS (LT now but still similar to the original LS1) based Chevy small block.
Lol, well most people rather this “car like” hauler that they probably will occasionally move a couch or equipment a few times a year Vs a rig that can tow over 30k 👍🏾
its crazy how gm and ford did their price hikes, i live in il and i got mine for less than sticker price thank god, because paying 56 was to much for a rst with out the new interior
Jb. I don’t care what called the truck is real buyers care about the spec it’s in etc. with the new ones on displacement on demand I would rather have a 2018 or older one
Luxury or not, they're nice seats, especially with the center console/shifter. I just bought the 2023 Silverado RST, Z71 with the synthetic material on the seats and I'm really liking them. I traded a 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali on it and this truck is much sharper looking both inside and out, even without the leather. I have a similar color, Radiant Red Tintcoat and with the blacked out lettering and grill, it's a really good looking truck, that rides just as well as the Denali. I didn't get the sunroof, sliding rear window because I never used them. Check them out, for the price they're a good deal.

I prefer these RSTs to most of the other trims. Beautiful truck and hopefully I'll get into one soon
Yup, this is a great truck with nice luxury amenities 👍🏾
@@JB_WhoWork and I did get into one at the end of September. Black on black 2022 RST Z71. She's real nice
Still has the column shifter. Nice
Well that’s because it’s a 6 passenger 👍🏾

Great review JB always a gm guy and I will say the new interior is much better than before and it’s what gm should of did in 2019
They are leading the way on the interior on lower trims like this and the LT. Thanks 👍🏾
Really nice review, thanks a lot, thinking about getting this truck, down to this or Ram Laramie, appreciate it!
👍Good Demonstration

@@JB_WhoWork I’m with you on Ram truck tires.
Agreed: Corner steps are the shit. And GM has the best colors. I get compliments on my irridescent pearl tricoat.
For sure. I bought an LT in this color a few months ago and have had a few people stop at my house to say how nice the truck looks.

JB wich brand tire will you suggest for towing with that specific truck
I would say any LT tire would be fine, I like Nitto/Toyo tires but Cooper, Falken, and BFGoodrich are great contenders too 👍🏾
