    Dieterich Buxtehude - a composer whose work, for so long ignored and overshadowed by Bach's, has come to be appreciated and performed in the past 20 years or so. And we're all the better for it. 👍 ❤️

    There is a universe of experiences in this work. If you’re older, Get a coffee at sunrise, stop for ten minutes and reflect while this plays.

    Timeless beauty, I never felt so out of this world
    It makes me feel alive, its difficult to express the passion and the feel it gives me
    A great maestro that deserves all the praise in this world.

    Buxtehude, like some French critics, considered that in the Corellian-type trio sonata with two violins there is a tone "hole" between the two trebles and the bass, which the continuo does not fill up. So, he wrote his trio sonatas for violin, viola di gamba and b.c. in order to have a better homogeneity. We can hear the (convincing) result here in this sonata.. Note that B. did not publish his sonatas by 6 or 12 as usual in the baroque, but by 7, a mystical number which he used elsewhere.

    Quanto è diverso il Buxtehude cameristico da quello organistico.

      Bach himself (as a young man) walked 400 kilometres just to hear him play.

    @ahgblopes This term was extended to instrumental music in general. Of violin music, the most representative composer would no-doubt be Biber :)

    DIETRICH BUXTEHUDE { BAD OLDESLOE , HOLSTEIN 1637~1707 LUBECK } ~ TRIO SONATA OP. 2 IN G MINOR { BUXWV 261 } ~. Quelle merveille ses SONATAS de BUXTEHUDE ensemble musicale grandiose bravo. Les quatorze sonates en trio { BUXWV 252~265 } sont les seules oeuvres de BUXTEHUDE publiées de son vivant, en deux volumes les sept premières étant réunies sous l'opus 1 et les sept suivantes sous l'opus 2. BUXTEHUDE passe les trente première année de sa vie au Danemark ou il est formé probablement par son père organiste Sa glorieuse carrière démarre en Allemagne ou il s'installe à LUBECK le 11 avril 1668, ou il occupera trois postes d'organiste a HELSINGBORG, a SAINTE-MARIE D' ELSENEUR et à SAINTE-MARIE de LUBECK ou il finit ses jours. Il institue les veillées musicale de l'Avent ABENDMUSIKEN. Il fut en son temp le compositeur le plus célèbre en Allemagne et un musicien au rayonnement européen. Il fut surnommé le maitre de LUBECK. Merci pour ce chef-d'œuvre de BUXTEHUDE grandiose Eternel.

    I don't know much about Classical music so forgive me if I sound ignorant but how can it be Op.2 and BuxWV 261 at the same time?

    • @yvesbenjamin5489
      @yvesbenjamin5489 7 лет назад

      BuxWV dosen't follow chronological order but classifies according to the kind of work.

    • @gertmuller9936

      Op.2 means Opus 2. So there are allways multiply works which are part of an opus...

    • @arazaratsyan6478
      @arazaratsyan6478 6 лет назад +1

      BuxWV refers to a catalog of all of his works created by some academic. Meanwhile, opus numbers are only assigned to his works that were actually published, in the order that they were published.
