👉 Let me know if you have discovered any other rings of smart home power that others should know about.

    Awesome video! :)
I recently had some funny issues after a powerloss with multiple devices I had to restart manually when I got power back because they didn't auto connect correctly.
Have you ever tested your setup to see how much is functioning after a powerloss or if your external network or WiFi goes down?
E.g. some issues i discovered with my setup
    - My robot vacuum was running while I lost power and it of course could not find it's charging station and I had to manually intervene once power was back.
    - My alarm clock tried to connect before my mesh wifi was up, and it never retried the connect until I restarted it
    - One of my network switches also didn't connect correctly to the network again, and required a manual reboot

Thanks! I have not yet done a formal test of my smart home network after a power loss or loss of internet -- but will add this to the list!

VLAN if your iot devices are in one vlan and your phone or computer in a different vlan, can you still control them? (I’m guessing it works as long as the firewall rules are right?). Re WLED, it’s low voltage and regular lights are high voltage, so if you are using a wall switch to turn them on eg under cabinet lights, how do you get the ‘high voltage’ switch to work with them?… and also not depower the controller so they’re not constantly rebooting? Thanks

You don’t use a regular light switch to control wled installations at all. They get hardwired in so that the controller and power supply always have power. You can keep the switch if you want to disable power when working on them, but if you want local control you have to install a smart remote like a Lutron Pico remote or something to send commands to wled through Home Assistant.

My IoT devices are on a different VLAN from my phone and computer, which sit on the default or main network. Firewall rules negotiate this, and I made a video on my setup here: ruclips.net/video/IYwR4c0kgCE/видео.html. I see someone else already address your WLED question.
