One thing I love so much from Shrek Films' Credits is the little Folktales Drawings associated per Team or Important Crew Members, like Cast showing a Group of Folks speaking.
Funny you should mention it, Ryan Salter. You see, a small group dubbed 'propellerheads' that consists of 2 famed filmmakers JJ Abrams and Rob Letterman teamed up with 2 computer engineers Loren Soman and Andy Waisler, had the ambitious pipeline if motion capture can integrate well with live action miniature environments for the original pitch during preproduction along with the visuals that replicate from the source material revised by concept artist Mike Ploog. That didn't pan out very well due to Jeffrey Katzenberg detesting it. That, and much to the dismay of the filmmakers about Chris Farley's passing in '97 when about 95% of the dialog is already recorded, they knew they had to be remade, rewritten, and brought in Farley's longtime collaborator Mike Myers. The filmmakers later on thought it was probably best if it would stick to being fully animated in CG instead of being performance animated and have the designs revamped to a warm, likable approach we all know today. On the bright side, Katzenberg already kept his lampooning initiative intact for the rest of the production and the rest is history! Fortunately, the 'propellerheads' still got credit in the Los Angeles preproduction unit for their mindbending effort, so it's quite an interesting look in the credits. P.S. Loren Soman and his studio down in the Lone Star state of Texas had also provided some CG work on Barney's Night Before Christmas with The Stokes Group.
These credits and these songs particularly the first three really do make me happy and nostalgic. It’s like I’m brought back to the time when Shrek was made or like I’m in the world of the credits themselves when absorbing the music.
Also, is it just me, or is the song "It Is You I Have Loved" by Dana Glover always resonated more as THE SHREK THEME SONG vs songs like "All Star" or "I'm A Believer", great as those songs are?
I'm glad I was alive when this was released. My birthdays in August so I was still a year old when it did. My brother was still 4 as his is in July. The second Shrek and the third were the only ones I saw in theaters.

I think what makes this end credits sequence stand out is the fact that the song that was clearly written exclusively for the film (4:46) is the one that plays last. Usually, if a film's end credits sequence has both an original song & pop music, it'll play the former first, then the latter. But here, the filmmakers, IMO, pulled a nice trick by having the pop songs play first, making one think that the end credits are only gonna be accompanied by pop music, but then satisfyingly surprise you with a song that is the same melody as the movie's main theme.
