  • Here is a quick review of the 2022 Tesla Model 3 Long Range after 2,100 miles of driving. Out of all our cars, we enjoy this Model 3 the most. I think it was well worth the $50,000 price, but unfortunately it has gone up $6,000 since we bought it. If you can afford one, you won't regret buying it. If you have any questions about Tesla ownership, leave a comment and I will answer best I can. Thanks for watching, goodbye for now.

    My brother just got one just like yours about 3 weeks ago!!! He loves it. My cousin owns 2 Tesla’s and they have gas cars too!!! And they never drive the gas ⛽️ cars anymore 🤷🏼‍♂️ what has the world become lol.

      Hi Mike! I haven't met anyone who didn't love their Tesla. I don't think I'd buy another gas car at this point. If I could get my asking price for my Mustang and STI I would sell them today. As much as I like them, I don't feel like I need them anymore. Unless something big changes, I don't see gas prices coming down anytime soon so life is going to be rough for while longer. : (

    What is the fun to drive level for you? I see that you have some fun to drive cars and my biggest concern with getting a Model 3 is missing the sound and engagement of a non EV. Thanks!

    You mentioned high insurance costs. What are you paying and with what company? I’ve heard Tesla insurance has fair rates for states that have it.

      I'm paying $110 a month which is crazy compared to my other cars. Unfortunately Tesla insurance is not offered in Florida yet. Tesla is very expensive to repair and that makes them expensive to insure. I have Travelers but rates were higher with Geico, StateFarm and Progressive. Rates will vary for everyone though based on coverage, age, credit score, driving history etc but we have perfect records in every respect. Florida now has the 2nd highest auto insurance in the country thanks to fraud claims so that doesn't help.

    June 2022 Update: Tesla has increased the Model 3 Long Range price again. Go to Tesla.com for latest pricing. (It's officially ridiculous). I believe Tesla is increasing the price of all their vehicles to slow demand because they can't keep up and it makes them look bad. I love our Tesla but I wouldn't be able to pay almost $60k for it. Hope you like this ownership review. Let me know if you have any questions about Tesla ownership. If you like this video, please give it a thumbs up and subscribe if you haven't already. That really helps to promote the channel. Thanks for watching, goodbye for now.

    What’s an average insurance cost to the M3?

    • @CarStory
      @CarStory  2 года назад

      We have clean records, good credit and are both over 50. We pay $110 a month and that’s more than any other car we own by more than $100 a year. Cost will vary based on where you live and your situation but Tesla is expensive because repairs are so expensive if you have an accident.

      @@CarStory understood, I am awaiting delivery on mine and had only found out after ordering that there can be a significant price increase for insurance. Missouri also has a hefty fee for EVs each year which adds up quickly.
      I purchased mine after the price hike and have been struggling to convince myself it's worth it. I test drove a few and enjoy the car. But 60K plus more insurance and fees may sway me out of taking delivery unfortunately

    • @CarStory
      @CarStory  2 года назад

      @@mosulmedic7048 If you can't afford it comfortably then don't buy it. I don't want to tell you what car to buy but Toyota and Honda have really good fuel efficient cars under 35k. You will not make up what you save in gas buying a 60k EV (unless you are driving a TON of miles.) I paid 54k for the Tesla with tax and title and that was my limit. We ordered back in Oct '21 before Tesla did the big price increases so we got lucky.

  • @mattrobinson6990
    @mattrobinson6990 2 года назад +3

    Hard to believe you’d buy it at $50k but not $56k? Seems silly. Wouldn’t you make that up in gas savings in one year?

    • @CarStory
      @CarStory  2 года назад +1

      Everyone has their own spending limit and I definitely broke mine since my out door price was just over $54k. I never thought I would pay that much for a car. My justification was the comfort, speed and technology the Model 3 has and the savings on gas and maintenance over time made it worth it. Tesla has redefined what should be expected of a car. It really checks a lot of boxes for us. I wouldn't spend that on any ICE car at this point though. I would recommend a Model 3 or Y to anyone who can afford it comfortably.

      @AutumnAspens So glad to hear you are loving your Tesla! It's was very expensive but we love it too! Wait until gas prices go past $5 again, you will pat yourself on the back for getting one! Where are you from?
