We've found that offering ground advantage shipping on many items, but then can often ship priority at the same or a few pennies more but then get to use the priority boxes which still cuts down on our box cost. This also results in a unexpected faster ship to the customer. Of course, this works the best if the buyer is in the closest shipping zone.
It’s interesting to see what boxes other resellers store. I’m like you all, in that I sell everything, though I do a lot of breakables. I keep 12x12x8, 10x10x10, 8x8x8, 7x7x7, and the ever popular 8x6x4. I like the idea of the 10x8x6, so I’m going to look into that size. Who could imagine such love for a video about cardboard boxes😂
I'm not a re-seller myself, but I enjoy watching other re-sellers and your channel is probably my most favorite. Your videos are fun, engaging and I love your dynamic :D Keep up with the great work!
One of these days I have to make a trip to the PO to return all of the priority boxes that are taking up room in my shop. And thanks for the rundown of box sizes. I wrote them all down this time!
I hang on to a few priority #7, #4, and shoeboxes. I only ship priority for poshmark. And occasionally the sell that is close enough to making priority cheaper. This does help with box costs. Love your videos, both of you are just wonderful people. May life bring you wonderful things.
Something to keep our eyes and ears open for…free Ground Advantage boxes could be coming our way. Another channel spoke with a USPS representative that gave him that information. He wasn’t given an expected date. I’m going to be joining y’all in taking back my Priority boxes. I sure can use the space. Y’all have inspired me to tidy up my shipping supplies too. Thanks for sharing!
I used to stock 8x6x4 but started stocking 8x6x6 instead. I can put more things in the box and the weight isn't much different. The cost isn't much different
I brought a bunch of flat rate boxes to the PO last week. They were fine with that. I still offer priority. I give customers the option of picking priority or ground advantage, as I opt for calculated shipping. Ild say 10% of the time people opt for priority as they want it quicker than ground.
As we cruise down the Mississippi, approaching Vicksburg today, I'd forgotten how monochromatic this part of the country is this time of year. As I look toward shore, the water is the same gray as the sky and the trees all lack all color but gray. So am not surprised you are opting to spend more time in the shed and less time out sourcing. Traveling from the Pacific Northwest for this trip, we departed thinking how our sky had the overcast of winter, and there was snow on the ground as we boarded the shuttle for the airport, but around us was still the background color of evergreen trees and the fist crocus flowers appearing to tell us we'd be leaving winter behind soon enough. But here, the trees are stark along the river banks, like dead sentinels, lined up along both shores.
Surplus Priority Boxes and Mailers: In our local post office is a rack that holds those boxes USPS makes available. I've always just left my surplus there and no USPS employee has ever commented about it. Back when the Padded FR Mailer first came out, my Post Master used to have me leave her some, so she could show them to counter customers as an example, for them to order from the web site, because the Post Office branch didn't stock them on site and she could hand out examples. I'd just order extras and leave her some.
While I do keep 8x6x4 boxes I don't use a lot of them. My go-to is a 10x8x6 since almost everything is glass or ceramic and the packing won't fit an 8x6x4. I mostly sell tableware, dishes, bowls, glasses, etc. There's a lot of square box double boxing (usually 8x8x8 in a 10x10x10) that happens as well.
I also had a ton of priority boxes that I don't use. Occasionally, priority is cheaper but I already have it sealed in a brown box and on the scale when I realize it. I drop my packages off every day but I did not want to haul those boxes to USPS. So I just posted them on the Next Door app for free and someone came and picked them all up from my front porch for me. Very easy and they are out of my life.
Candace, can you go over the smaller clear bags you use for the pocket items, Walmart pins, G.I. Joe's with the cards and what you have used in the past for your loose bigger figures. Thanks a bunch.
Boxes: my most common box to use & stock is the 6x4x4 (really 6x4.75x4.75), but 2nd is the 8x6x4. After that is a wide variety, based on sourcing. Still we use a few Med FR and other Priority boxes and Priority bubble mailers, but suspect that's due to what i sell and where i live.
I love that we can use our boxes and pay like 7 dollars now. As it used to be an automatic 14 if over a pound. And that you for telling us about grainger. I have checked them out and have one not to far from me. I’m just not ready to buy that many at a time yet.
I still use enough priority shoe boxes to keep them stocked. I also keep 8x6x4 boxes (about 35 cents each) 8x6x5 boxes (35 cents each) and 10x8x6 boxes from Ebay supplies. I have a couple of different bubble mailers as well.
I did the same thing last week with my priority boxes. Gathered them up and took them to the post office. I haven't used one of those boxes in a long time. I have some priority stickers I got from USPS and I just use those on a regular box when I ship priority and of course the shipping label shows it's priority also.
Just so you know, Avon still sells Black Suede. Interestingly, I bought my first bottle of Black Suede around 1983-ish for $9.99. Last May I bought a bottle for the zact same price. Pssst. Lonnie, my man. Chicks tell me it makes their liver quiver, so you might wanna check it out. 😉
No more Priority boxes for me, either. Which is good, because I have very little space for keeping that kind of thing. Great video. Love seeing other people's shipping routines/supplies.
Lonnie and Candace. I have been working really hard on posting to eBay. More this year than ever before. My sales have been sporadic but my main problem is the low ball offers that I am getting that are ridiculous low. I would like to see my sell through rate increase but I am conflicted as to whether I should accept the offer or just wait for a reasonable offer. I would love your advice. I watch every day.
I timing on this perfect... I was just watching/studying your last video like this like a hawk the past two days and this morning what a surprise like you guys knew 😅 Thank you!
I saw a cookbook that I own and use to use all the time. The Country Cookbook. I don't know if it is from the same area. I think mine was from Tennessee. I would have to dig it out. But it had some delicious recipes in it.
The 8 x 6 x 4 I use came from ebay with my coupon for having a store subscription. I do plan to purchase my boxes from Grainger in the future. We have a local store less than 2 miles away.
Is having a paid store on Ebay better for your sales? Our grandma and auntie on the fence about spending more money on Ebay, with all the fees they pay now.
I have a question... do you have to put any special labels or markings on your box when you sell the perfume (or any other flammable liquid)? Thanks for your time!
12/9/5 vs 12/10/4 believe it or not is a cubic pricing difference, and fits a lot of different items. I don’t keep 8/6/4s on hand, but that’s because I had a bunch of 6/6/6 boxes that fit most items I’d put in 8/6/4
I had 5 items that were never used and still sealed with the complete packagex but expired and eBay flagged all of them. I did get to sell 2 of them before it was flagged. I was selling the items for the packaging and stated this in the title-BOX ONLY, as the make-up was originally priced at $400. I was selling the box, book, and jar for $40-$75 plus ship. I have tons of old makeup like this that I thought maybe people would like the packaging for it since it is a high-end item. Even when we are clear about it, they don't want us to sell it. Mercari wouldn't let me sell themt either. Just thought I would let you know it is hit or miss with both of them. Thanks for your info and help
How do you get the empty tape rolls off the dispenser. We switched from a tape gun (falling apart after 8 years) to a dispenser like yours. When we went to take off the empty roll we literally had to cut it off with a box knife a bit at a time. Whats the secret to easily removing it? Putting it on was easy. Taking it off wasn't.
Hey guys, can I please ask a question? New to Ebay, I love to view your videos. Learning every day. A buyer want to return 1 of my items. Through eBay, I refunded their money. How do I purchase a shipping label for them to return it to me.?
For the life of me I cannot find the white packing paper roll on Grainger's website. I can only find the kraft paper. Anyone know what it is called or where to find it on the site?
Based on personal experience, you really dodged a bullet not selling that Rolex paperweight to that guy in France. Guys who complain about duties and VAT etc, are guaranteed trouble. Guaranteed. If foreign buyers don't like paying import taxes, then perhaps they should vote better instead of blaming resellers.
Hydrate Spark Smart Water Bottle Blue, Hydrate Spark Smart Water Bottle Black, Rolex Watches Crystal Employee Cube Paperweight, NFL Bluidable Mini Football Puzzle Erasers, Lot of 86 Softkins , Brighton Kiara Denim and Leather Block Heel Sandals. Thanks Lonnie and Candice Take Care Out

I had a lot of Priority boxes that I no longer used. I was able to return them to my local Post Office.
I was going to return mine, but USPS free boxes are great for Poshmark and saves you money on shipping supplies.
I just recently purged my priority packaging too. The only ones I kept were the shoe box size. I use them for men's shoes.
I have so many priority shipping supplies taking up space! Inwent crazy ordering them when I first started ebay. This video really helps! Thanks!!

Great video Always have 8x6x4 in stock but I sell smaller items so I always keep 5x5x5 in stock. Then normally just different size polymailers

I use mail containers from the post office that my mailman gave me to use. I have never used an Ikea bag.
Great video Lonnie and Candice 😊 packing supplies shelf looking neat and tidy 👌
No more Priority boxes for me, either. Which is good, because I have very little space for keeping that kind of thing. Great video. Love seeing other people's shipping routines/supplies.
If your carrier won’t take them,, try to jyet give her smaller batches and if not, just take them to the post office and leave them.

That black suede should sell. Used to sell a lot of that when I sold Avon at the flea market.

Do you enter 13x13x13 instead of 12x12x12? Or do you do 12x12x12 and hope you don’t get pinched?
I use 6x6x6 most of all
Where do you purchase your packing paper at. Thanks for the video

So many overseas buyers complain about VAT or dont know about it and question why YOU are charging more. People be crazy.
I stand my boxes on end under my desk.
Have you had issues using the new Ebay international? Still on the fence about this?
Hey I'll take your regional boxes.😊
I actually dont use 8x6x4 boxes. I use 8x8x4 & 10x8x6. Almost exclusively
Dang..I have a Grainger 45 min from me. Wish I had checked unto this earlier.
Lonnie is going to argue the sky isn’t blue…
How much for the chantilly, that's my mom fav?
Great vid ty
No 8x6x4 stocked for me
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Gonna be sad seeing those white USPS boxes off the shelves!
Can you use priority boxes if you ship ground advantage?
No
Can those Regional USPS shipping boxes still be used?
Yes, as regular priority
👍
Hi guys
For the life of me I cannot find the white packing paper roll on Grainger's website. I can only find the kraft paper. Anyone know what it is called or where to find it on the site?
They call it newsprint, I had trouble finding it at first too. Putting a link in next comment.
