I've taken cold showers for around 4 years now (hard to believe it's already been so long). Like most people, cold water used to be terrifying for me. It would take me 20 mins just to work up the courage to jump in a pool,, my showers were 45+ mins long with sculding hot water and I couldn't even force myself to get out of the shower until the hot water ran out. If you were to tell the younger me that I take cold showers when I'm older, I would have laughed in your face... Fast forward to now and cold showers are the most important part of my daily routine. It has changed my life in many ways but to keep it short I'll just list 10.
1.) A lifetime of severe exima, dandruff and dry eyes completely cured.
    2.) Seasonal allergies, cured.
    3.) Immune system, stronger.
4.) Ability to "step" into discomfort increased.
5.) Quit taking adderall and caffiene for work thanks to the increased mood and energy levels.
6.) Reduced bipolar and ADHD symptoms.
    7.) Lower stress levels
    8.) Increased tolerance to stress
9.) Weight loss, increased metabolism (no more man boobs)
10.) Faster recovery as well as reduced back, muscle and joint pain.
The list goes on but there's 10 ways cold showers changed my life. If you're someone who is thinking about starting, hopefully this gives you the necessary inspiration to take that first step. Best of luck!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I personally would like to hear more examples of the changes that have progressed 😊 I‘ve personally taken cold showers, but I have trouble with consistency. My last cold shower I physically felt the positive impact when focusing on my breaths. Deep and thorough was what seemed to be the key for me. So, I feel torn; I understand remaining present and in control my body and mind, but to turn the shower temperature control the other direction…. Ha 😂

I also suffered with dry itching eyes before I started 2 years ago. Completely gone now and I don't even think about it anymore. Social anxiety is less every day even though I'm a complete failure at life. I almost never feel sick anymore. I still do all the things I usually do like eating way too much chocolate and playing video games 24/7. I also can confirm less bodily pain and much more energy and before my mind drifted off all the time and now it almost never does. It's like all the shit just cleared up. I still suffer in my mind because I haven't accepted all my bad life decisions and who I am yet, but I'm getting there. I've mostly only done short cold showers and I do them every day, but these last months I've had some cold plunges into the cold sea. The sea felt great. I'm still a bit scared of the cold and it feels like the wariness is burned into my soul.... The only fault in my body today is I can't get rid of some muscle twitching in my elbows, but it feels like it's healing too. Before I started 2 years ago it felt like I was dying every day.....

It really does. I always did breath exercises to get over anxiety and depression episodes. I’d bite onto my arm without breaking a bone or tearing at it to remove flesh, instead of doing worse things like slicing it. To focus on that rather than my downwards spiralling energy and thoughts. In order to be able to properly focus on my breathing as i began a breathing exercise. And it’d always help. That, and escaping into fiction 😂

@@AlbPerNil how about adaptation to the cold. If you are someone who gets out in nature in the summer when it is hellishly hot for hours on end you eventually adjust to the Heat. And when you walk in somewhere that has Air Condition it's frigid.
If you spend time in the cold, be it a shower or outside you will adjust and then heat will become adverse to you. I'm a beginner at this and it's winter here. I've been walking around in shorts and a t-shirt and making campfires at night freezing my booty off but it's paying off and it feels great.
When hot water hits my body now it feels scalding and I know it is too freaking hot. Also I have found that if the water is cold enough it almost feels hot as in scalding).
You asked for a benefit, how about being able to walk outside in the winter in shorts and a t-shirt and be comfortable! I've done this while walking into grocery stores through the refrigerated aisles.
Lastly, how do you think all of the animals survive the winter? Our creator gave all of the animals a winter coat, but we were made in His image and cannot endure cold weather? That doesn't make sense to me that the animals can survive something that we cannot while we are the Apex on the food chain.

    Hi Wim,
right before I watch the rest of the video, you are great. Thank you for reaching out to so many people. It is possible to touch thousands, maybe millions of lifes... and change them to the side they need. I found you in german television dozens of years ago... think you had a bit of struggle with a cold drop at Wetten dass 🙂 I had one too at the first real date with my better part.
I am a multiplicator for you as well as Tomi, the firestarter, who showed me that I was right in my interpretation of your art of life some weeks ago.
And I use your method and support you via the app. Some years ago I paddled over five hours at less then five degrees celsius with a kayak in a river in central Germany, the videos are online since.... I just don't know. Currently I am trying to heal my and my sons Asthma... why not? There is only one person to step over the frontier and that's me. Thank you so much for spending all those years on that mission.
Stay healthy and be the torch of life for all around here.
Have a wonderful time, a wonderful life and I hope to soon read of you.
Support Wim and his mission, all you people who are watching this. The cold.has not only teeth, it has the key to a life for you, you can't Imagine, if you have not tried it, try it. Just took my wonderful girlfriend to the cold outside. It worked for resetting the skin.
As an asthmatican... sounds cool, doesn't it? I breath instead of avoiding it. It works... thank you.
All of the people out there, share and like and subscribe to Wim, one of us, on his mission. I am not as crazy as you think... I am the father of five. And of those, who follow me 😉
    Like to hear of you.
    Greetings

I gradually built up initially with cold showers working my way to two mins and then more easily to five. Now I take a cold shower for two mins to wash and then get into a cold bath for 11 mins. I feel great afterwards and strangely enough, even better if I clean my teeth before hand. Maybe not so strange when you consider that your gums are a gateway to your vascular system and bad gums affects your overall health. 😊

Are you doing your deep breathing before and during the cold showers? This makes all the difference for me personally. If you do about 15-20 very deep and intentional deep breath’s, and continue the deep breathing during the cold shower it prepares your body to succumb to the cold. Don’t brace against it. Melt into it as if you want and expect it.

That's very unusual, Wim says not to force it, so not to do more than you're comfortable with, listening to your conscience I guess. Try his breathing exercises first before going in the shower try and do no more than a minute, or maybe try lukewarm first then lower the temp little by little as you're in the shower

I’ve been doing cold showers for about 3 months now and have noticed a positive difference, just put it at the coldest setting take a deep breath and exhale as I step into it. Issue at the moment with this time of year (I live in the North of Scotland) is the water really is absolutely Baltic and when I come out after a couple of minutes I really struggle to stop shivering, I quickly put clothes on but still can take me a long time to warm up and stop shivering. Any advice??

I'm asking people who've been doing this a while if they eat before or after etc, thank you so much!

Petechiae occur when tiny blood vessels called capillaries break open. When this happens, blood leaks into the skin. I have them from lifting 114 lb. dumbbell with my right arm bench pressing it up and back down 10 reps range of motion in all maybe at least 5 or 6 feet and I weighed just 119 lbs. right before a colonoscopy lol so that's A LOT of weight for someone my size. Happily I can say I didn't get them doing 30 minutes 60 degree fahrenheit cold bath. Interestingly(or not interesting what do I know lol) my cardiovascular system was more tired after running to the point I needed to to get my heart rate up to 192 beats per minute at 46 years old. If it's beating that fast in the cold in water is probably bad or at least not good for someone that's 46 like me but my heartrate wasn't even close to that speed although I didn't have a counter on my wrist at that time. :P

Naw bro. If you have a cold and end up taking a cold shower you're just going to get more sick. Personally I just switch to a nice steaming shower or soke in a hot bath for 15 or 10 minutes. For me it helps clear my nostrils and it helps sweat it out. Drink lots of tea and water. Keep yourself moving also. Don't always wanna lay in bed. But rest if you need it bro. Sorry if I'm not much of help.
