  • This week Chazz is talking to you about protecting yourself and always be aware. He once had a person come on to his property which caused him to get scared about his safety. Thank goodness his dogs were there folks! That is what really scared the intruder away. Chazz always talks about another thing that would have scared him away was a gun. Chazz proudly exercises his second amendment but identifies as an independent, not a republican as most would think because he supports the 2nd amendment. He opens up a dialogue about what we should do as a society to make guns safer! Tell us your thoughts in the comments Folks!

Wow, Chazz. So glad you’re safe. Enjoyed this important topic and podcast. Although I’ve never owned nor wanted a gun in my home, I get it. Responsible ownership and all that entails is just common sense. Law Enforcement should saturate the bleep out of these high crime areas whereby it’s not so blatantly easy to be unlawful. There is no fear in the neighborhood.

Guns are like learning martial arts, both inspire calmness because they breed confidence that you will have the ability to protect yourself. It is easier to stay calm when you feel assured that you can defend yourself.

  • @ArthurEverling

As a younger person I find myself agreeing with Chazz in terms of firearm ownership. You can pass as many laws as you want, the bad guys are going to get guns if they want them. They don't care about the law. Which in turn then will leave the law abiding citizens both legally and physically defenseless, or at the very least a severe disadvantage. I never want to be the guy to start a fight or talk shit, but I want to have a gun on my person if the (unlikely) situation arises. Better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.
But with that said, a firearm is a responsibility. It's not a toy. That's not to say that guns can't be fun when used properly on a range of course, but they're dangerous. That's the whole point. If given the proper respect and care, they can be both an enjoyable hobby and tool for self defense.

We had a 150 pound great Dane mix with coonhound. What a sweetie muffin of a dog ❤ He was so gentle and just so sweet. He was the dog people would stop us and ask to take a picture of our Duke. He looked like a floppy eared Disney dog. Wouldn't hurt a fly but could clear a sidewalk in a second if people didn't know us and were intimidated by his size. I felt like royalty walking our Duke ❤.
Yes slobber everywhere all the time on everything but to me it was it was part of loving Duke. It was part of the territory. Towel near by for the couch and cushions and the water dish needed to be rinsed out about 20 times a day. But the love in return so worth it ❤.
Now we have a German Shepherd mix with corgi... awesome guard.
Amazon doesn't place boxes...they throw them even when the dog is in the house and not in the yard 😂 He's only about 60 pounds or so too. He's our little Scrappy Doo.
Neighbors make good guards. We have neighbors who leave and let us know they are leaving and we get their mail and pull out the barrels when they are away. That's just what we do.
There was a weekend where my son and I went over and took the barrels out. No cars out in the driveway.
An hour or so later the garage door was open. Their little convertible was pulled out in the driveway.
The golf clubs were out next to the car. The family didn't mention to us that anyone was going to be home.
I went into panic mode. I ran two houses down to where our neighbor is a police officer and I told her that the family was gone but there were clubs and some other stuff in the driveway. She called for backup.
I called my neighbor to find out if they had someone in the house.
No one picked up the call.
Backup arrived and asked me if I went to the house and I told him I had no idea who was in there and I didn't want to know.
Both officers went to the door.
It was their was son. He was home and his parents didn't tell me was going be there.
He was home taking his dad's clubs....and car...to go golfing. Yep the offspring...
    😂
I apologized a million times to the both officers and they said I totally did the right thing. A lot of burglaries happen very non challantly....in the day time when no one expects a thing.
Nothing like paranoid neighbors who watch too many true crime stories 😂

    Hey Chazz
I’m a Rottweiler Breeder from NewZealand, I can definitely advocate for this breed in terms of a great family member and as a working dog ( patrol, guard, defend)…A Rottweiler at work commands fear respect from anyone even considering entering into your property. Corson are great. I don't have experience with them. I had a Doberman for 12 years. Like German Shepherds they to me are the smartest dogs. I accidentally left my door open at night in the city. This dog instinctively stayed at the front. I awoke in the middle of the night looking for him. He wouldn't leave the door. I locked it and he walked to my bedroom and laid down. Smart Dog Chazz. I believe in 2A as well. We need to punish severely people who use guns illegally in criminal acts. When the mob was around crime was not nearly as bad. I don't know about the mob. But the presence made a difference

As you said that male was coming closer AFTER you specifically told him to stop, I was pissed! Umm.....anytime I purchased a firearm there was most certainly a background check....I was denied once too due to an identification address discrepancy. If s criminal wants to kill someone.....they can easily get the gun with no background check on the STREET. This misconception that criminals are using legally owned firearms is ridiculous....on the street they use BURNERS....guns with the serial number filed off. When you purchase a firearm in a store....the FBI has a link to the serial number and your social security number PERIOD....wise up

Chazz what an excellent podcast, I wished you’d talked more about this topic, I was glued… As far as dogs go, if you like the German shepherds so much I suggest you stick with them since you already know how they are. I’ve had them when I was young, we had two police dogs in the family with excellent training I wish they could’ve lived forever. My personal favorite is the Rottweiler, I’ve had three of them over the past 30 yrs and they’re loyal, loving and protective, nothing scarier than seeing one come at you a hundred miles an hour!!! You could also look into the Belgian Shepherd, aka malinois. They know how to take an intruder/criminal down. Maybe a little too energetic but worth taking a look at. As far as the big dogs they’re a lot slower although intimidating but sometimes they can be defeated. I’ve done some bite work training in the past and the big ones wear easier to dodge. Lotta hair involved, too. On the topic of 2A you’re spot on. Enforce the laws already in place. Get the guns away from the criminals. Educate gun owners how to properly handle, carry, shoot & above all store their firearms properly. I’m seeing a lot of stories how people leave their guns in the car and leave them unlocked and these kids are out all night checking door handles and finding treasures. And the biggest thing they need to do is and I hate to say it, some will disagree, when someone applies for a permit their past medical history should be checked. Most of the mass shootings are committed by someone with some kind of mental disorder but you never hear about it because of the HIPAA laws. Anyway, sorry for a long comment, those are my choices on dogs, hope you got to read this and keep the shows coming

Hey Chazz, I used to have cane corso for 13 years. From my experience they are great house keepers (saved my house a lot of times from drunk tourists and potential thieves) and they love children. The most imoprtant thing is to socialise them.
Feeding your Cane Corso outside and keeping his water bowls out there too will drastically reduce the amount of drool slung throughout your house.

    Buongiorno!
Corsos are excellent dogs, some do drool, however, it’s one of those things where it’s more important where you do what, and how they are trained. The females drool less, generally, and are more protective due to maternal instinct. I recommend going with a Dogo Argentino.. they drool a little less, and are equally powerful..
European Doberman is another great option.. powerful, intelligent, less drool..
But hey, train your dogs correctly, to not play in the house and get on your furniture etc, won’t be a problem, even with a cano.

Damn Chaz be careful, there's wakos out there. Even tho you grew up in a tuff neighborhood still you're famous. I'm always looking at ppl w/suspicion. Your dog totally did their job. We got a Corso he's really smart & listens. I do believe he'd protect us,he's always checking/looking out the front door. He doesn't bark until he has to,more of a growler. We got an old pitbull. One time my boyfriend was walking both at night & walks past a large parking lot where ppl were living in tents. This other pitbull gets lose out of their tent & is coming across this large p.lot. My boyfriend is yelling at the dog don't come closer, still no owner coming to get their dog. Well let me tell you yes my dogs tcb especially my old guy. My boyfriend was calling the dogs off while finally the other owner was saying "that's not fair yada yada yada 2 on 1". My boyfriend said well get your dog,itz not even on a leash & came to attach us. So like I said the Corso listened when he said "off",but old Blu Blu(real name Frisco) was not letting go. It took 3 guys near by to help. Frisco is usually the sweetest least intimidating dog,but when itz on itz on. Our Corso doesn't slobber all over the place. Where their bed is can be a lil damp from licking sometimes. I think if you get a Corso & train them, they'll be a good dog to have. But jus like a gun they are powerful so you got to be a responsible owner which I know you would. The Corso we got from a neighbor who has litters from time to time. We have a handful of friends that got dogs from the same litter, all healthy & good demeanors. I didn't know how smart those dogs were until we had 1. I trained the dog for the 1st couple months because 1st I wanted him to know who is boss. I have cats so right away he has to know be nice to the cats & I own a business & do not tolerate my dogs jumping or growling at ppl jus walking by. We have a sign hanging that says Forget the dog beware of the owner. You know meaning 1 of these 🔫. Really if the government wanted to stop gun violence 1 thing I do know is a person like me will not waste a bullet. Bullets get expensive when you go to the gun range/skeet club. I know the responsibility that comes w/it. You can't take a bullet bk once it leaves the chamber,so you gotta have the mindset of how you move in a situation. That is something that can change your life in a split second. I feel I'm responsible,I would like more training. I think it's something you gotta practice all the time, handling. Ppl need to stop watching the brain washing news that causes this mongering fear. Really if a person has an intention to cause harm they can use anything>a brick,a heavy snow globe or an Emy award. See I wrote a book again. I say get a couple of Corsos & get them trained. There's a great training facility in San Jose Ca,I got that guy on IG. I can't afford him but you could,he's impressive w/the dogs. My all time favorite dogs are pitbulls, ever since the Lil Rascals. Everyone should know how to protect themselves & others(not jus stand there w/a dumb look). I'm not against hand to hand, you should be able to do that too. Another saying is "treat me well I'll treat you better, treat me bad & I'll treat you worst". 1 more thing maybe they should not let kids play video games where they are shooting & car jacking>Grand Theft Auto. Jus saying,no body talks about that i wonder why $$$. L&R

Made great points for sure!!! Question is in big cities would u feel safe if everyone had a gun? Every argument. Every heated interaction in a very densely populated city would be answered with a gun. The 2nd amendment was not originally purposed for what people are using it for today. It was for civilian citizens to use for protection against a tyrannical government. Many gun owners carry it to church and supermarket or in areas with children. Some gun owners become emboldened to take chances they normally wouldnt. They become bullies And honestly speaking if i had a black/hispanic son I know people would be quicker to shoot them based on color of their skin. Gun ownership needs licensing and some safety regulations.

Yes wheres rico when you really need him thats the giant elephant. +15 is nothing for a dog, especially with some turkey/herring etc mixed in the kibble, but it might be time to bring in a new dog as an apprentice.

No offense you probably don’t want a cane corso you need a firm hand and can’t let them own your home. You would probably love a Czechoslovakian wolf dog or malinois husky (belusky) if you do go with a belusky please name it john🤣

Imagine how defenseless young WOMEN feel in places where they can't level the danger with a 6ft man....how many rapes would have been thwarted if those innocent young women had self defense. How about the elderly? The disabled? How's a guy in a wheelchair defend himself against home invasion??? We should use dogs living creatures as cannon fodder for violence, that's okay to endanger them? Why? A burglar will shoot a dog no hesitation....dogs can't outrun bullets. The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.....hence calling the cops. People don't call the cops because a guy will show up with a spatula....they call for a guy with a gun. And by the way.....that cop had 9 months training....thats NOTHING. A dude who goes hunting once a year has more firearms training than a rookie cop.....period. People don't understand that guns are inanimate objects that are EVERYWHERE....there's no way to "take the guns from the bad guys"....they will get them ILLEGALLY! HENCE CRIME!

Love the vid Mr. Palminteri, one the best guard dogs out there is the Dogo Argentino. They need some proper training because they tend to be stubborn, however, that breed will always be loyal to you and will never leave your side.

I think All cop's should have more training to handle a gun ALL one guy holding a knife 10 cop's with sticks, tasers, bullet proof vest cop's get Happy triggers 3 shots from each cop in the streets the guy with the knife would being on the ground ALIVE. Be safe awesome episodes sir you remind me of an uncle I lose 4 years ago God bless you and your family and your fan's
