- We did a lot of RC plane flying this weekend so here's part one of the video and it includes lots of smoke, noise and, most importantly of all, lots of fun. Bill's DH Beaver decided to create a smoke-trail and a couple of nitro-powered RC planes also filled the skies with smoke as well. There's a lot more to come so stay tuned!

Ron's POS finally has a great flight! Epic! Gotta love Bill's wing. The wash was so far out the right aileron was up 1" just to fly straight! LOL! Good stuff, guys! Love it!

Anyone who "struggles" with nitro is not understanding how nitro works. GLOW engine, mistakenly called "nitro" by the car guys, Is easy peasy. Just try Diesel power. THIS guy has all modes of engine power NAiled.

Airsail Volksplane? Nice little airplane. I sure wish Airsail was still around. The owner of the company shipped me the very first Airsail Piper Tomahawk kit to the US way back in the day. Nice kit set for sure!! Wish I still had it.

Love the nitro stuff, brings back fond memories. I have a nitro plane in the garage that my uncle gave me before he passed. I taught him to fly R/C. He was flying control line when I was a wee lad, and I used to love watching him. I mostly fly drones now, and would love to give his nitro plane to someone who could get it repaired and up and flying. I still have his old radio too. I could ship it to you Bruce if you think it would be worth fooling with.

A real joy to watch....this one, Bruce. Boys out and having a go and a fun day of flying. I gotta ask...Does Ron know how to land? Seems he just flies it to the deck and chops throttle? He never flares for the stall, so he gets alot of porpoising/bounce been watching him do that for a year or so. But hey as long as your having fun. Take care. Looking for part II tomorrow :)

That Beaver I had the same thing happen FMS replaced the whole aircraft.

What Camera are you using Bruce ? You tracked those planes amazing and no blurring at all very nice 👍 I have a VQ Beever very much like the plane that almost caught fire lovely model to fly.

A smoking Beaver isn't good. 😉 But being Canadian the Beaver is my favorite airplane. Then after the Canadair CL-415.
I'd take the CL 215 myself then the Canso but yup the 415 is a good utilitarian tanker

Ron is clearly demonstrating in this video how to bend a conrod in an IC engine by smacking a running starter onto the spinner. If the engine is flooded it's going to fuck it up. I hate seeing people do that, no mechanical sympathy at all.

Howdy from Pennsylvania in the states. Do you have or have flown the Nano Goblin from ReadyMadeRC?
Seems like half the fun is flying and the other half is lithobraking (i.e. using Earth's crust as sudden and effective braking mechanism).
One reason I fly electric is because they are quieter. Righttttt. They can scream. Some of my gassers are quieter.

What was wrong with the FMS beaver? I have one , should I be worried, we’re you flying 4 S or 6s ?
Thats Tim's old one.....bill got it as a bag of EPO and put his own motor/esc in it so no panic.that said though the 70a esc in the V1 beaver is known for random BEC failure (which is why FMS went to hobbywing esc's), so if you have a "predator" 70a in your beaver maybe look at adding an external BEC ok👍

Like the Australians they love to shorten up words. It takes a while to figure it out but they are great folks to be with. Us N Americans could learn a lot from these folks

Fortunately I have fibre with 1Gb/S speed but RUclips throttles uploads to about 50Mb/S so it still took about 20 minutes.
