From description: I've updated my Mark V Port for Halo 2 so I wanted to re-record all of the cutscenes featuring Chief since the shaders should now be a lot more accurate to Halo: Combat Evolved's aswell as the visor looking a lot better when under dynamic lighting though sadly with the way dynamic lighting works in Halo 2 & up a lot of detail gets removed when a dynamic light source is being casted on the armor and visor.

It’s because of just how consistent the Bungie era art design was. There were changes sure, but everything was still instantly recognizable from a previous design.
I would say its probably because both halo CE and halo 2 were still in the same console generation, plus the animation being done by hand but still have that stiff look to it before Halo 3.

Honestly it would have been interesting if the original trilogy chiefs armor stayed the same but from CE, 2 and 3 his armor slowly got more and more busted
The model of the MKV is alot more detailed and refined. In OG graphics the MK6 looks a bit blurry and pixelated in comparison. Amazing considering the difference in age.
@@savagemcflurry9082 Halo CE really had a lot of attention put into its fine detail texture work. Halo 2 really shat the bed in terms of texture detail & specularity. The normal maps were cool, but I don't think it was an upgrade over CE's visuals overall, and in any case most of the materials wound up looking like plastic.
@@vismaypatil2006 considering they had to drop pstencil & practically start over because they couldn't make the OG Xbox do miracles. Honestly it's like they saw DOOM3 tech demos & thought "hey we could do that!" and on 64mb of RAM & a 733Mhz Pentium III, scaled up to the size of Halo's levels, no they couldn't. Maybe if they were all the size of Cairo Station, but otherwise no, they couldn't. I'm happy it turned out the way it did relative to nothing at all. I'm not happy it turned out with a sandbox balanced around Dual Wielding, with a downgrade in level design, & visuals though. If anything disappoints me about the generally excellent Halo 2 Anniversary, it's that they didn't use it as an opportunity to play with dynamic lights & shadow in a way the original couldn't. H2's environments are 'begging' for some dynamic light sources, it's probably why so many of the environments are so visually flat, because they were expecting dynamic light sources to give dimension & visual interest instead of textures.

While I love seeing how good this armor looks in this engine, Mark VI is perfect for Halo 2. Something about the different artsyle pairs so well with the change in story and gameplay from CE. 9:19 Seeing CE Masterchief run fast and fall from a high place without taking damage is bizzare, and changing his armor helped show the difference in gameplay between the two
You should make a mod where Halo 2 copies how much Health MC has from CE. Legendary would be a lot better with more health like in CE. Maybe keep regenerative hp considering there's no medkits.
Ye true, thats why Halo 2 despite it flaws deserves all the praise it got. Personally I think it was better sequel than Halo 3 exactly because it was so ambitious and aimed so high. Halo 3 was far more polished thats for sure but on the other hand it didnt feel nearly as ambitious. Propably Bungie wanted to avoid all the problems they faced with Halo 2 's development so its understandable but still, I always enjoyed Halo 2's campaign more than I did Halo 3's. Storytelling wise Halo 2 in my honest opinion was the highpoint of the franchise even with that cliffhanger ending. In terms of graphics ofc it was very ambitious for its time considering original Xbox hardware limitations and on that front Halo 3 was also in my view letdown compared to Halo 2 or Halo Reach that seemed like much more what I expected Halo 3 already to be. Oh well I still hope Halo 3 would get its own Anniversary edition one day, perhaps once the game turns 20 years in 2027....crazy to think thats only 4 years from now 😂
I don't really like how people always want the halo 2 and 3 armor back even though the Combat evolved one looks amazing. They get so excited about the halo 3 style armor that chief has in halo infinite but to be honest it looks kinda boring at this point. Maybe there could be some very slight changes made but I think the ce armor just looks the coolest and I think is more of a classic than halo 2 & 3 armor.
How cool would it have been for you to be able to chose which armor you wanted Master Chief to wear in Halo 2 back then? Like an option you get at the start of the campaign. Hell, something like that would still be cool for future Halo games.
what a great video, it looks amazing with the improvement of the halo 2 graphics the mark V, I know it is an extremely complicated job but it would be amazing if you could show how the mark V would look like with the halo 2 anniversary graphics engine, even if they are screenshots
I feel this could have benefitted from giving the armor a more matte finish to match the Halo2 aesthetic compared to its original shiny lighting from CE, but I guess it is important to the look, still awesome to see nonetheless.
Halo 2 but it's Halo 1 armor with Halo 3 textures and then you make the Halo 4 textures as the upgraded version of the Mjolnir so Master Chief keeps his armor everytime.
