It's one thing for it to have a creepy eye, another if it has tentacles, if that thing doesnt just scream evil I dont know what does.
Honestly, I've seen swords like that work out for the owners. The part where it tried to bind itself to the user also wasn't really evil, from what's shown. A sword that literally refuses to be knocked out of one's hand mid battle? Pretty sweet.
Then it started draining something from her and THAT sealed the deal.

Does anyone else have whiplash from how fast this episode was moving. SERIOUSLY this is 80% of the 9th light novel I’m not even joking there are 12 chapters in LN 9 (not counting the prologue or epilogue) and it goes through 9 complete chapters and dips in to the 10th chapter. And I know a lot of it got cut or altered but still, I’m sure you’ve heard this before but seriously what are the story writers thinking.
Unfortunately this season has been a complete mess.
I'm an anime only watcher and I certainly get whiplash from the insane pacing, but a friend of mine agreed to my sentiment that the story has basically abandoned the initial concept, and that this all feels like an overly elaborate and unnecessary side quest/story.
Animation seems to have dipped as well.

Man if you're going to be a wielder of an evil sword at least have a good one like Eyelander. Sure it's a possessed sword the desires to chop off heads, but it's also the greatest friend a Demoman could ever ask for.

The Sword of Kas isn't all bad either, aside from needing to be drenched in blood within a minute of unsheathing it, or you risk being dominated by the sword, and forced to drench it in blood
I remember their was a novel series where the protagonist has a cursed sword. He’s crippled and weak but the sword makes him stronger whenever it takes a life. If the sword can’t feed, his chronic illness starts to take him again. He hates the weapon it is very literally the only thing keeping him alive and it has a pretty good incentive to keep using it. That is a good cursed sword, it makes you stronger with every life taken but the sword needs to eat consistently or it stops working, a normal person would benefit from it but someone physically feeble would find it impossible to let it go.
So Kyo doesn't care about anyone he thinks of them as tools to use makes sense.

If an inanimate object has a red fleshy looking eye ball, always assume it is evil.
Evil and/or parasitic. If Bakoto from Bleach and Soul Edge from Soul Edge/Soul Calibur ever taught me anything, it's that such things are absolutely unruly hungry parasites.

I'm disturbed how often people get duped into using swords that are either cursed, formed from dark magic, or are merged with some kind of parasitic entity and don't immediately realize they should get rid of it ASAP. Corrin in Fire Emblem ended up getting their mother killed because they didn't discard the dark magic sword from Garon, Jural from The Last Story was impaled by the cursed sword Zangurak gave him to try killing Zael, and those parasitic swords those guys in Bleach used ended up turning them into monsters and slowly killed them from sacrificing too much of their spirit energy.
Kyo made Yomogi discount Soul Edge. Go figure.
That fact they're already on Volume 9 hurts me deeply. I thought we were done butchering content after the tortoise arc disaster but no, 2 episodes is 'definitely' enough to cover a volume. What is wrong with this director?
For real what happend? how is the pacing this bad and animation has gotten fairy tail level bad it's mostly a slideshow now, season 2 was even delayed 9 months extra, it's a shame since season 1 was so good, let's hope they put in more effort in season 3.

The manner by which victory is obtained makes it even more interesting. Attaining victory with Honour and dignity, presents the winner with a circumstance of hitting more than one stone. One of which is pleasing the Numerical law.
At this point I don’t really care about the plot, it was an awful second season. I just want to get this over with.
