You might have mentioned a few more books to scare the aspirants. I cleared jrf by reading half of the books you mentioned as basic books. I think you are king of literature brother.
Congrats on your JRF, Goutam! I never wanted just surface level knowledge and since I plan on being in academics all my life, I felt it was important for me to read and understand every topic in depth. Moreover, I had also started reading and making notes from my UG. That's why I could read so many.
It would be great help.....if you will mention your books too, so that those aspirants who do not want to go through much books...and able to complete their syllabus from limited sources....😊
Never seen before such a fluent literature student as you with such profound understanding. Loved it. Even some of the professors don't come up to match you in your fluency I feel, especially in India.
Bhai... Where have you been?? I just came across this video and instantly clicked. Didn't you have another channel before. Something called Litz? I love your content
Yes, I checked your syllabus. Although there is no specific paper for History of English Literature, a lot of authors from different ages are prescribed. When you study those writers, it will be great if you can also cover the age from a history book. This will not only help you in framing better answers, but also prepare you for the kind of questions asked in NET.
If I had to pick just a few books, I would say go through Edward Albert, Perer Barry/M. H. Abrams. Also, when you start your preparation, you will begin to realise which areas you need to focus on and give more time to.
🎉🎉best video ever ❤productive and to the point thank you😊 can please guide me how should I start reading these book Please tell me the sequence with durations of book how long it will take to complete all these books And guide me the best strategy as I'm in first year of MA english from ignou ,and I have completed my graduation in ba programme (eco+history) so i have not much knowledge about english course .so how should I start preparing for this exam ans I want jrf in my first attempt pls guide❤
You should begin with History of English literature. Once you have completed and made notes, move to literary criticism and literary theory. You can begin with Peter Barry and move to M. A. R. Habib. After that, you can solve PYQs and try to figure out the areas where you are lacking. This will be a long journey, so just be consistent. All the best!
I'm from odisha . I love literature . I was interested to do bachelor and master in odia language . But I had to do bachelor in english . Now I'm pursuing my bachelor's degree in English through IGNOU . It's for first time I'm reading and giving exam in english . Before english was reading english as subject only . I was ignoring it and wish to get only pass marks . Now while I'm reading I need to go through dictionary . My question , how can i develop my communication skill and vocabulary .
You can start by picking easy-to-read books. You can also listen to podcasts/videos and watch videos in English on topics you find interesting. In this way, you will start learning the language. In order to be a better speaker, the only way out is to practice speaking.
You can appear even in your undergrad but the certificate won't be valid since you need to complete your Master's within two years from the date of publication of results.
I am glad the video was helpful, and thank you for your suggestion. Will surely make a video soon. You can try to get the chronology questions right by associating texts/authors with certain events/works/authors.
For NET preparation, you can read the history of American literature from various resources on the internet. Books like Oxford Companion to American Literature will not be sufficient but will give a framework and help you look for relevant topics.
Thanks bro, I just want to know if there is any book of English Literature in which I can find the detailed Summary/Analysis of best works of best writers?

Previous year papers. That's the only way to get a good hold of syllabus when it comes to multiple genres. Prepare not only the questions but options as well.
JRF makes you eligible for fellowship during the first five years of your PhD. When you clear NET, you are eligible to apply for assistant professor positions at universities.
@SchoolOfLiteratureYT but doesn't the fellowship bind you? As I you are disallowed from having any other sources of income throughout the duration of your pdh
It is clearly mentioned in JRF guidelines that you can't have any source of income while drawing the fellowship. For me, getting the fellowship was important because I wanted to do my PhD without any financial stress. However, despite qualifying for JRF, you can choose not to take the fellowship but in my university, for the first three years at least, PhD is full-time.
@@SchoolOfLiteratureYT ok thanks but how to analysis the pyqs.. in this re exam the qsns come from different levels plzz help me to know the important portions
I had started during my graduation itself, so I can't tell you an exact time frame. But I made sure that all of them were completed before the NET exam.

It is best to begin with the history of English literature and slowly make your way through all the topics. Learning should be a lifelong process, although I do know that it gets tough during preparation.

I lost that channel due to some technical issues.
For paper 1?
For paper I, I studied K. V. S. Madaan and PYQs.
Sir, can you please explain how to apply for NET with only a Bachelor Degree .
NET without a Masters' degree wouldn't be valid but you can take the exam for experience.
Excuse me, UG students can't appear for NET exam .. only PG students r eligible
You can appear even in your undergrad but the certificate won't be valid since you need to complete your Master's within two years from the date of publication of results.
I appeared for UGC NET before completing my Graduation, just you have to fill masters appearing, I did it for my experience
Incredibly resourceful!
A video on revision strategies would be helpful. Also, dates & chronology are a nightmare for me. Any tips?
I am glad the video was helpful, and thank you for your suggestion. Will surely make a video soon. You can try to get the chronology questions right by associating texts/authors with certain events/works/authors.
Could you suggest any books for Greek and Roman literature?
For NET, I wouldn't recommend reading from a book for Greek and Roman literature. It would be better to take help from online resources.

The website bro 13:00 . For ebook its not in discription
If you are asking about the Pelican Guide, I have already added its link in the description.
Can you recommend any good book for topics such as indian aesthetics and research methodology and methods in english ?
For Indian aesthetics, you can check out Indian Aesthetics by V. S. Seturaman. For research methodology and methods, you can go with C. R. Kothari.

You can appear in UGC NET only in the subject you have done/doing your Masters in.
How to cover drama, poetry & fiction?
You can go through the syllabus of different central universities to figure out which ones you need to focus on.
