    Just like to make a little statement here. We, the elderly and those who live in mobile homes, I think they are called modular homes now,are people who have families raise their children work hard sometimes for only minimum wage maybe even served in the military sacrificed a lot for the family, don’t have the money to buy a big house. They take pride in what they have and they work hard to keep it up. But as we get older I can’t do the things that we used to when we were in our 40s 50s so please cut us a break those elderly‘s are your mother and your father and your grandparents.

      I’m old, too, (61) and I didn’t take offense. and while I understand what you’re saying, please lighten up. He was only being comical. It IS true, though. I STILL call them mobile homes; I love them. I actually thought it was quite amusing.😁

      Thanks for the entertaining drive through Bradento. I love older mobile homes and saw plenty of them in your video.

    Zephyrhills north of Tampa has over 100 mobile home parks in the area,mostly 55 and over.But Zephyrhills is really out of a Flood Zone due to it's hilly terrain and no waterways.The oldest existing mobile home park in Winter's Mobile home park built in 1952 next to Zephyr Park,which is a city park.Lakeland also has a huge amount of mobile homes and mobile home parks.

    Lived here for 2 years and would return in a heartbeat. Called the Hood but simple people just like me. Housing too crazy now. Waiting for it to calm down and I’ll be back!

    In the West side of Bradenton a majority of structures is mobile homes or houses that are 40+ years old. Almost all the newer home construction is around I75 (outside of the beach areas). I lived in a Ground level 5 unit Condo that was built in 1973 (on 26th street between Cortez & 53rd Ave).

    At least the mobile homes offer some flood protection since they are elevated.

    We call it Bradentucky.. most of the old trailer parks were for snowbirds back in the day. A lot of famous people lived in some of those trailers. They all moved closer to the water, later. and the lower income took over

    So apparently this person drives in a high dollar suv, lives in a million dollar home, and looks down on those who have less than he does. We do not need to watch videos from people like this.

    I was in FLA in April 1993 6m after CAT 5 Andrew struck during the summer, Aug 1992. In between the opposing freeway lanes, there was grass- equal to about 4 freeway lanes across. For 15miles, the whole thing was debris from Andrew & it was 15-20feet high. We cld see many roofs missing on Tract after tract of newer type 80's hses. A whole Walmart had no roof, totally trashed inside, they hadnt even gotten to it yet so it had a big chain link fence around the whole strip mall & parking lot. They probably learned a lot about Hurricanes from Andrew.

    There's a killer Jamaican restaurant in Bradenton in a shopping center as you go down that loong main rd.towards the beach on the left.Small family run,oxtail to die for.

  • @immaggiethesenilegoldenret7918

    Bradenton is my third home, after Brooklyn , NY and Yarmouth, MA. I’ve lived there twice. All right, some of the areas are sketchy, but tbh, it doesn’t faze me too much. But for that ghastly heat and humidity, I’d go back to live , this time permanently. I’d love to rent a mobile home…I just might. 🤔

    Actually, you are not in the city of Bradenton. You are in unincorporated Manatee County. Yes. There are more mobile home parks in manatee county than anywhere else. East manatee county sustained severe damage from Ian.

    • @FLORIDAHOODVLOGS
      @FLORIDAHOODVLOGS  Год назад +4

      So i have a “Bradenton” address.. we live WAY out east of 75…

    • @debbiek316
      @debbiek316 Год назад

      @@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS yep… but the actual city of Bradenton is quite small. Only along the River, never south of Cortez. Even Lakewood Ranch is not incorporated, and is just part of unincorporated manatee county.
      You are speaking of postal mail locations, which has nothing to do with physical city boundaries.
      Some people who live in manatee county actually have a Sarasota zip code and mailing address.
      Many of the uppities who live in Lakewood Ranch use Lakewood Ranch as their “city”, but technically it’s not.
      Sarasota has much much much better food than bradenton. I loved there(bradenton) for 13 years, just left in October.

      What difference does it make where they are ? If those mobile homes are in hurricane path,…they’re toast
