This Vlog is all about the shipping related queries, that i have been receiving in the comments section.

1...What job/work does the officer/cadet do in deck department...
2... a vlog on .. ur daily routine.. like working hours.., do u study on board?
Deck officer are Navigational Watchkeepers, in addition they are responsible for their respective dept. Such as 3rd off is incharge of Life saving and Fire fighting equipments. 2nd off for navigational equipments and passage planning. Chief off for Cargo planning and deck maintenance. Deck cadet is a trainee onboard, to understudy the duty and responsibility of a deck officer.

Can you work on a cruise ship with the same position as a bulk ship ( officer)? I have worked on a cruise ship but not anymore as I now live in US. I am just curious . Thank you
As far as i know about the Deck dept. If a deck officer switches to Cruise ships from commercial vessels, he will join in the capacity of one Rank lower than his present Rank.

Cost cutting and reducing man power has always been a big issue, specially in Maritime Industry. In my opinion, even though Automatic ships are the future, but to an extent. Ships will still need crew to handle things on board which surely can't be done 100% remotely.

Yes its DG approved....In 2015 fees was 2.2L for DNS...Dont know the current fee structure

If the individual has done his cadet ship or he is a rating in the company, surely that company will take you as a Tr. officer once he/she gets the license.

What do you think about it , please tell me .
It is very difficult to predict that, although salary did increase if we see couple of years down the line.
In near future, there will surely be an increment. But it depends on various factors.
