There are certain places in the world, where Sea merges into the Ocean.
Due to merging of these two different water bodies, abnormal phenomenon is prevalent in that area.
During our last voyage, we encountered one such geographical phenomenon " FUNNEL EFFECT "
This phenomeneon results in strong abnormal water currents to prevail in that area, that causes reduction in speed of Ships transiting through that area.
Selat LOMBOK Strait is a water body that connects Bali Sea to Indian Ocean. Located in between Bali and Lombok Island of Indonesia.
We had to pass through Lombok Strait during our voyage from Australia to China. Where we encountered strong adverse currents.
