How-To: Using The BMW Drive Recorder.

I have the drive recorder in my BMW M3 touring. I purchased a 3-year subscription. It is not as good as a regular dashcam as it does not continuously record video like a normal dashcam. A few months back, a pickup truck reversed into me and hit the front. As the force of the impact was not much, the drive recorder did not activate. I had minor damage in the front. I could not claim insurance as my drive recorder did not record the event. I regret purchasing it, as it costs much more than a high-end dashcam.

I know right? They need to make an update where it starts recording even if there's a slight bump, I would be pissed if someone hit my XM with his door and it wouldn't record..

I find it very cumbersome especially while driving when you will need this feature the most. It takes a long time to come up and it can't multi-task with other functions? Clicking to another function on the wheel cancels the recording so it can take over the screen.
