My first cruise to Alaska (way back in 1990 - I think) we had inside cabins and also had a back door (I don't even remember what ship we were on), so we could get up every morning - in the darkness of the inside cabins & then went right outside to a small back deck with some chairs & chaises - it was definitely a nice way to enjoy an inside cabin - being so close to the outside!! That was way before I even knew about balcony cabins!! Great video Sheri! BTW - I survived Irma! One week with no electricity, no a/c, had to throw out everything in my fridge & freezer - sent the dogs to the doggy sitter (they had a/c) & when the power came back I found out that my fan motor for the central a/c blew out! I'm finally back to nearly normal - have my internet back (it was out for 4 days) - the house is cool, the fridge restocked!! I'm back & so glad to see this video!!
Finally watching your vlog! Yay!! Oh no!! I'm so sorry to hear about your allergies! :/ Sounds like an awesome itinerary! Love all those ports! Love seeing the ship for the first time! So exciting!! Thanks for showing us and giving us tips about parking! This is gold for anyone cruising out of SF! At least all that walking means you get to eat more on the ship and not feel guilty about it! Lol Love the feeling of walking onto the ship for the first time! Love the room! Especially the location! (Thanks for the shoutout! So sweet of you!). I'm so happy you had nice weather! Looks like a gorgeous day! OMG! Those compression bags look amazing!! The one downside to the Grand Princess was the size of the closet. Thankfully, they've made the closets bigger after that ship! Lol What a gorgeous sailaway!! #SherriHasMoves Going under the Golden Gate with fog looked pretty cool! I love how you and your husband edit these vlogs! They're so professional! Yes!! Love your drink of the day clips! The Grand Princess horn would always cut me off when I would be vlogging too! Lol. I LOVE Club 5! That was our go to place during the day to read and relax! I'm sure you're exhausted! You drove all day the day before too! You definitely deserve to have a relaxing night! Can't wait for the next vlog! Thanks as always for bringing us along and for the wonderful editing!
Oh boy I'm so excited that we've set sail....ummm or rather you've set sail! :0) What an awesome sail away day, minus the parking, but who remembers after THAT after the 1st drink, right? lol I'm so gonna love your cruise and can't wait till the next vlog! Thanks for sharing and taking us along! You and your hubby...and son do a great job! Hugs!!!
We couldn't do our Ruby Princess cruise in these aft cabins (Had R732), so we re-booked on a 14nt Star Princess cabin A716 with my mom & dad who are in A740 to Alaska! It was SO much cheaper to book an inside. At least $3000 per cabin!
So glad I clicked the bell notification! I've been waiting for this video! Can't wait to watch!!!!!! Just turned it on! I've been telling my hubby about your Alaskan cruise. We're Caribbean cruisers. Have never done alaska
So glad I discovered your vlog. Our first cruise in 2013 was on Grand Princess out of FtLauderdale, were from the uk. Since then we have done 4 more and have 2 booked for next year. Not Princess though . We were only talking today about Alaska and would love to do the Grand again, we loved that ship.
Love your video. We just returned from an Alaskan cruise on the Emerald Princess out of Seattle. It was wonderful and I'm reliving it through your vlogs. Thanks for sharing your experiences so beautifully.
Love, love, love this vlog entry. I began by making a mental note that I will never sail out of San Francisco because of the hassle getting there, but, my goodness, the views and sights more than make up for it. My wife and I will be doing our first cruise in 26 days, embarking on the Freedom of the Seas from Ft. Lauderdale for the western Caribbean and could not more excited. Love your work. Thanks for sharing.
Gorgeous footage, thx you! Loved the video coming back into SFO at sunrise - lovely! Looking at taking this trip again... Older ship but it's wonderful!
OMG i enjoyed this vlog i just love your vlogging style its so genuine and up beat and you can see you really enjoy it, you dont waffle on like other cruise vloggers and Mr cruise tips tv your the camera work is just great . Cant wait for the next one PS Sheri love your moves on the sail away you were pretty good .
The back door is *NOT* so secret anymore, hehe! BTW, Sheri, love the colour of the lipstick you had on this day ... compliments the colour of your mirrored sunglasses perfectly (and of course, your skin tone too!)
Ahh, Gilroy it's been a while for me could almost smell the garlic. On the way home you can have dinner at the Stinking Rose, a garlic restaurant in San Francisco, not too far up the hill from the wharf, neat place. Just got home from Aruba and finished watching Scott Singer's Alaska series and am looking forward to this one as well. I'm starting to get the Alaska itch between these videos and a HAL presentation we just went to a few weeks ago.
This is the exact cruise I'm thinking of going on next year. I live in Sacramento and was thinking this would be an easier one and I've never been to Alaska. Thanks so much for documenting for us all! I'll be watching.
Jennifer Stith it is BY FAR the best cruise there is. We have done them all except for Bermuda, and so far, it was my favorite. Tell your husband that he won't regret it.
Sherri I was thinking about what you said about you “not sure about Norwegian Bliss”. I believe you were going to Mexico again...and after this beautiful set of Alaskan videos and how magical it was, what about going on them to Alaska instead? Especially since you are a cruise expert in Mexico. My dream Alaska vacation awaits and it’s this same cruise!!!
Great ideas but the one I never thought of oddly enough was the vacuum sealed clothes. That brilliant but how do you get them small again when the cruise is coming to an end?
You must have been on Aloha deck!? We were in A 516 which was a room that was orientated differently. We sailed June 7 to 17....loved every minute of it!
CruiseTipsTV and we spent nearly every night in the club one five, dancing the night away. I loved our cruise to Alaska on the grand and you gave me back some time on there... See familiar faces too in the video
Here's a question for your Saturday Vlog. I see you like Lacroix water as much as I do. Do you happen to know if Princess serves Lacroix? A girl's gotta have her Lacroix.
Our family booked an interior to Hawaii and a representative told us (along with past guests) the bed can be in "king" position with one pull down to use for our 3rd guest. Did you ask your steward for a different bed arrangement?
Thank you! We will hope for the best, also we actually booked an ocean view so hoping that extra 8 sf makes a difference.... doubt it! Boarding the Miracle today for Mexican Riviera! Thank you for all your great videos.
We are booked for Oct. 7th on 8 day Eastern Carribean with the Vista. Worried because all of our islands have been destroyed that we were suppose to go to. And hurricane Maria is still out there right now, any advice?
+Danielle Bischoff have they released your new itinerary yet? My best advice, and we'll talk more about this ok Saturday's vlog, is to go with the flow on this one - once you find out your ports let me know! With carnival vista at the ship is kind of the destination so no matter where you go you're going to have a blast. Keep me posted on those ports!
Looks great! LOVE your sweater, btw!! I live an hour away from SF and yes, when the marine layer isn't there, it is a beautiful sight! I have been told by friends that have done that cruise that the trip up the coast from SF is a very rough ride. What is your opinion on that?
That was a fantastic vlog and your excitement is contagious!! :-) I can't wait to see the rest of your trip. I was curious about the compression bags. We live in the center of the U.S. so when we do take a future Alaska cruise (and we will!), we will fly to the port. How do you repack all the bulky outerwear at the end of the cruise without the pump? BTW, I totally love your sweater and purple is a beautiful color on you. Looking forward to more vlogs!
I won't laugh, lol!! But that makes sense... what comes out of a suitcase HAS to go back in somehow. I've never used compression bags and in my mind, I imagined a great big pump.
When exactly did you cruise? We are planning ahead for a 2019 Alaskan cruise. We had some family members who sailed the first week of September and they experienced extremely WET weather the entire trip. We are thinking about maybe going in May. What month would you suggest?
Thanks for the awesome vlog and great info. Dumb question. Is there a loyalty area on the royal. We are on there in 54 days. Yay!!!! Hope you are feeling better.
OMG. $18 a day? I wonder is Amtrak California would have been cheaper and it would be a blast for your son! I just though, than u would have a taxi on the other end.
Sounds like you got lucky with embarkation. My mother and I were cruising out of Vancouver on the 23rd with 2 other ships. We were some of the lucky ones I got on the ship in just under 2 hours and mum was about 10-15 minutes behind me. It was so crazy that as we were setting sail the captain in his welcome announcement apologised for the delays. It was also close to 90% humidity and around 68 degrees.
+Ms Maree hey there. Unfortunately it’s from royalty-free music shop called artlist.io so it doesn’t really have a name or the ability to buy it on mainstream music stores.
I have a question, I have never had to wear my life vest at the muster drill. I have only cruised on Royal. I go on Norwegian for the first time in Dec, will they make us wear the vest.
No idea what happened to my previous comments. I am going to blame it on ny iPhone! Sorry!! I am looking for a hotel in the SFO area that will drop off at the cruise terminal. Anyone have some tips there. So far I've found zip...

YES ! Mrs. Cruisetipstv your dancing was everything !!!! 🤗🤗🤗 loved it 😍
LOL! I feel like an old lady watching it now!
Whew Ms. Sheri has some dance moves! You go gurl!
Haha, thank you!
Your videos are so wonderfully edited! Binge watching your videos have become a fav of mine.
Love that color sweater! Can't wait to see more of the cruise!
Can't wait to see the rest of the videos from this trip. Being from FL , it's nice to see all of your west coast cruise! Thank you
Finally watching your vlog! Yay!!
Oh no!! I'm so sorry to hear about your allergies! :/
Sounds like an awesome itinerary! Love all those ports!
Love seeing the ship for the first time! So exciting!! Thanks for showing us and giving us tips about parking! This is gold for anyone cruising out of SF! At least all that walking means you get to eat more on the ship and not feel guilty about it! Lol

Loved the dance/bridge sequence! So beautiful and cool!
+Amy thank u!
Loved it we are on grand to Mexico in 2 weeks. I’m all excited now 😍🛳😀🌴
Oh boy I'm so excited that we've set sail....ummm or rather you've set sail! :0) What an awesome sail away day, minus the parking, but who remembers after THAT after the 1st drink, right? lol I'm so gonna love your cruise and can't wait till the next vlog! +Cheryl Reynaud haha, exactly!!!
That departure port is GORGEOUS! Your son is precious. ❤️. One day, I’ll make that trip. Thank you for this, Sheri. Love your videos.
The best cruise by far is an Alaskan cruise. Mine was over 8 years ago, and I'm booking our next one to Alaska again...finally!
+MrDBOne Au good for you! Finally is right!
The horns blowing brought tears
😥
We couldn't do our Ruby Princess cruise in these aft cabins (Had R732), so we re-booked on a 14nt Star Princess cabin A716 with my mom & dad who are in A740 to Alaska! It was SO much cheaper to book an inside. At least $3000 per cabin!
Just checked my old pics - we were on the old Regal Princess!! And it was June, 1998!!
Sheri love seeing you dancing and having a good time. You have some moves.
OLD lady moves!
I can't wait to see these vlogs! Alaska is definitely on my must do cruise list!!
+Ednabug 👍
I love your blog videos so much because it shows the relaxed sherri

So glad I clicked the bell notification! I've been waiting for this video! Can't wait to watch!!!!!! Just turned it on! I've been telling my hubby about your Alaskan cruise. We're Caribbean cruisers. Have never done alaska
You'd love it! Even though it's more chilly, the scenery is just "aaaah....".
Packing and rewatching because I’m leaving for this same Cruise inSF in two weeks!
Yay! So excited for you. I Love that sailaway.
Every time I see your sun glasses I LOVE them!!! So excited to see this Alaska cruise you went on! Can't wait for our first Alaska cruise next year!!
Thanks! Well, I have a surprise product to show off on our Gear channel in a few weeks, which I think you will LIKE!
Wow, that port is beautiful. Great video.
Thanks! SF was so pretty that day.
I love sailing out of SF. The new terminal is so much more organized and nicer than the old one.
+Ms Melissa agreed!
Beautiful sweater!! I love it. San Francisco is one of my favorite cities but it does take forever to get anywhere.
We've done the Princess Alaska cruise twice because we loved it so much! Enjoy!
Love your video. We just returned from an Alaskan cruise on the Emerald Princess out of Seattle. It was wonderful and I'm reliving it through your vlogs. Thanks for sharing your experiences so beautifully.
Ah, thank you! Welcome home! How was Emerald?
Love, love, love this vlog entry. I began by making a mental note that I will never sail out of San Francisco because of the hassle getting there, but, my goodness, the views and sights more than make up for it.

Wow. That is so cool that you get to sail under the Golden Gate bridge. Love it!
+Bethaney Davies it’s one of my favorites!
The back door is *NOT* so secret anymore, hehe!
BTW, Sheri, love the colour of the lipstick you had on this day ... compliments the colour of your mirrored sunglasses perfectly (and of course, your skin tone too!)

it's so convenient if you live nearby! Do it! It's pricey, but worth it.
CruiseTipsTV thanks and I'll start saving! I can always balance out wit San Pedro for Mexico. At least I can drive there.
Great first day vlog! I've so been looking forward to these. :)
Great Video, thank you for showing some of the luggage drop off and parking garage in San Francisco.
Our pleasure!
what month was this trip...what time was embarkation....and how far ahead did u get there...I am taking the same cruise in sept and we r first timers
This cruise was late August
Living vicariously through these vlogs!! Alaska is on my list, but hubby isn't sold yet. We'll see how persuasive I can be.
Jennifer Stith it is BY FAR the best cruise there is. We have done them all except for Bermuda, and so far, it was my favorite. Tell your husband that he won't regret it.
+Jennifer Stith you got this.
I love gin martinis! I'm gonna have to give the Bronx a try sometime!
I have the same green backpack you had on embarkation. :) I love them for travelling!
These vlogz are so awesome!
Thank u! We had fun filming them! SO much more fun to come!
Get it Sheri!!! Loved your dance moves!!!
+Ms Maree woot woot!!!

Great ideas but the one I never thought of oddly enough was the vacuum sealed clothes. That brilliant but how do you get them small again when the cruise is coming to an end?
Kristen Fortune that’s what I was wondering🤔
I love watching your videos ❤️
You must have been on Aloha deck!? We were in A 516 which was a room that was orientated differently. We sailed June 7 to 17....loved every minute of it!
+Merewyn Janson yes, that’s right!
CruiseTipsTV and we spent nearly every night in the club one five, dancing the night away. I loved our cruise to Alaska on the grand and you gave me back some time on there... See familiar faces too in the video
Great video! What kind of compression bag did you use? Can you hand roll them?
+Mel Weathers ill show them on Saturday's live vlog :-)
How was the noise from the deck above you? I've looked at these cabins, but didn't want to hear chairs scraping across the floor above us.
Going on my first cruise to Alaska on the Disney Wonder cruise going to go BB to white pass rail way and river boat adventure
Here's a question for your Saturday Vlog. I see you like Lacroix water as much as I do. Do you happen to know if Princess serves Lacroix? A girl's gotta have her Lacroix.
+Pam H haha, okay I'll answer on the vlog :-)
Great video as always
+Brian Yawn Thanks so much :-)
So, I love the idea of the compression bags, but how do you repack them to go home, without a vacuum?
Ah- great question! I will answer on today's livestream at noon Pacific.
Do the same trip on NCP in May... glad to see your vlog.. thanks.
Hi Sheri, do you know if Ruby Princess has that platinum members lounge too?
16 a day parking is cheap it's 300 for a 7 day cruise is NYC and 450 for a 10 day cruise
Why does the bathroom smell like vinegar? Is that what they use to clean with? The way you said, it made it sound like you expected it!
+8jlp8 I don't know! I just kind of noticed it- must have been the cleaner !
"This nice young man" ❤
Our family booked an interior to Hawaii and a representative told us (along with past guests) the bed can be in "king" position with one pull down to use for our 3rd guest. Did you ask your steward for a different bed arrangement?
Yes, we've asked on our last three cruises with an inside, and they don't allow it.
Thank you! We will hope for the best, also we actually booked an ocean view so hoping that extra 8 sf makes a difference.... doubt it! Boarding the Miracle today for Mexican Riviera! Thank you for all your great videos.
bon voyage! I love that ship- so jealous!
We are booked for Oct. 7th on 8 day Eastern Carribean with the Vista. Worried because all of our islands have been destroyed that we were suppose to go to. And hurricane Maria is still out there right now, any advice?

Hey Beth! I will answer on today's livestream at noon, Pacific, if that is okay with you!
CruiseTipsTV thank you! I'll be watching!
What time of the was this round trip Alaskan Cruise from San Francisco?
That was a fantastic vlog and your excitement is contagious!! :-) I can't wait to see the rest of your trip. I was curious about the compression bags. We live in the center of the U.S. so when we do take a future Alaska cruise (and we will!), we will fly to the port. +Shelly Smith don't laugh, but we pack the pump!!
I won't laugh, lol!! But that makes sense... what comes out of a suitcase HAS to go back in somehow. I've never used compression bags and in my mind, I imagined a great big pump.
Great vlog !!!! Is it better to pay as you drink or is it better to get the drink package ??? Whi ch one do you do ????
I'll answer on today's livestream.
When exactly did you cruise? We are planning ahead for a 2019 Alaskan cruise. We had some family members who sailed the first week of September and they experienced extremely WET weather the entire trip. We are thinking about maybe going in May. What month would you suggest?
Dawn Couvillion we are going to try mid June. Hope it is warm enough and not wet!!
If it's okay, I'll answer on a vlog soon. This is a terrific question and I've totally learned my lesson with this one!
Thanks for the awesome vlog and great info.
Dumb question. Is there a loyalty area on the royal. We are on there in 54 days. Yay!!!!
Hope you are feeling better.
+Julieanne Hall never a dumb question here! There should be but the venue varies :-)
Julieanne Hall i
CruiseTipsTV found out it is in club 6 prior to dinner:)
When did you cruise to Alaska? What is the best month to cruise there?
This cruise was late August, but we prefer mid to late May!
Omg I was on that same cruise😱
Your pac pack looks crazy heavy.
I love your top!
Thanks! I got it at Express!
OMG. $18 a day? I wonder is Amtrak California would have been cheaper and it would be a blast for your son! I just though, than u would have a taxi on the other end.
Sounds like you got lucky with embarkation. My mother and I were cruising out of Vancouver on the 23rd with 2 other ships. What is the name of that song that is playing while your dancing? I love it!
+Ms Maree hey there. Unfortunately it’s from royalty-free music shop called artlist.io so it doesn’t really have a name or the ability to buy it on mainstream music stores.
Ms Maree it's called Wansui by Oliver Michael
Your sweater is very PRETTY. Is it from stitch fix?
It's from Express- they still have it in stock! www.express.com/clothing/women/open-stitch-balloon-sleeve-pullover-sweater/pro/08269916/cat430028
I have a question, I have never had to wear my life vest at the muster drill. I have only cruised on Royal. I go on Norwegian for the first time in Dec, will they make us wear the vest.
I will answer on today's livestream at noon, Pacific, if that is okay with you!
Oh my where did you get your sweater!?
+Shannon Paquette Express- they still
Have them!
Is princess a family cruise or is their a better cruise line for families
+Dashiell Horowitz depends on what your family likes to do. Overall, royal Caribbean, carnival and even Ncl cater to families a bit more
CruiseTipsTV thank you I’ll definitely take that in to consideration
Love black bear diner.....
No idea what happened to my previous comments. I am going to blame it on ny iPhone! Sorry!! I am looking for a hotel in the SFO area that will drop off at the cruise terminal. Anyone have some tips there. So far I've found zip...
keep up the good work =)
+unknowncsd thanks!!
Does the ship do the love boat horn?
+Lynn Kihara sometimes!
I am so afraid of the inside room. You make it look not so scary
You use the compression bas which is awesome . But my question is how do you deflate on the ship when your packing to get off the ship?
+Earl Louks we packed the little manual pump- it's Tiny :-)
Cheri YOUR SO PRETTY
Aw, thanks!
What song is playing @ 12:05
Hey! We use a royalty free site called artlist.io- it’s pricey but we can’t use mainstream music here on RUclips. I’m not sure what it’s called :-(
It's taking me all my will power not to go book another cruise after watching this.
Which we did, 4th of July in Alaska, but bringing the kids this time.
Somebody's got some moves on her..lol
Haha! Thanks ❤️
#CruiseTipsTv ⚓
Loved this video! Very interesting.. Check out mine! I have different vlogs 😬
Love your videos except for the Alaska ones. I'm in NY so I prefer the warm weather ones. Sorry.
Haha! I feel ya!
That cabin is horrible ,,, Norwegian is a lot better and I'd have paid for the balcony
I'm sooooo here for this lov ya guys!!!!!!
Yay! Thanks for following!
