I prefer the Japanese cut in my training so I can have more freedom for movement inside the gi 😊
What is your favorite type of gi or do you prefer training in normal clothes? 🥋💪

How about the different "grade", 10oz, 12oz, 14oz and beyond?

Good question! Weight gives cotton gi more structure and durability, but it also effects your training. A more heavier gi, the more work you have to do training in it. Also a 8 oz cotton gi is more like a t-shirt compared to a 12 oz gi. The material also has a big effect for that and for example the Seishin gi weights 9.5 oz, but it looks (and kind of feels) like a 12 oz gi as a material. The same goes with my Hayashi Tenno Premium. It's made from blend of cotton and polyester. The most usual weights for cotton uniforms are 10 oz and 12 oz. I have no experience for 14 oz and heavier gis. Thank you for the question! 👍

You should review some brands as arawaza or tokaido.

Thanks for commenting Dolan Duk! 😄 I'm definitely doing some reviews in the future. I own two Hayashi, one Tokaido and Seishin karate gis at the moment.

What type do you recommend for beginners ?

Hi Dario Milani and thank you for commenting ✌🏻 It is up to your budget most of all. If you are beginner I would use something around 60 euros worth so it would not be a pricy investment. I'd stay away from the cheapest "club karate uniforms". They are more like t-shirts (< 8oz). The type of cut does not matter but I'd buy heavier side of cotton. It's also good for your overall stamina training to have a bit heavier uniform (around 12oz). Also the heavier uniforms tend to be a bit more durable if you buy one that is good brand and good stiching. On my behalf, I can recommend Hayashi and Tokaido uniforms. I hope you find the perfect one for you 😁✌🏻

Terve Aytay! Itse olen ostanut karatepukuni tähän mennessä netin kautta, mutta kivijalkaliikkeitäkin löytyy. Eniten olen käyttänyt Nippon Sportia Helsingissä. Toinen hyvä on SABE (kwon.fi) Turussa.
