Doing great work, man. Nice utilization of the light. I’ve had this lens for about 7 months and mostly use it for video, which yields amazing results. Past few weeks I’ve been testing it for photography and the center seems slightly soft at 1.4, 1.6, and 1.8. It’s subtle but noticeable, which is somewhat annoying for a lens of this price, even if the price has dropped considerably. In short, for nighttime photography, it doesn’t seem like this lens gives the best results wide open. I’m still gonna run some more tests, but it stinks that such is the case currently. Nonetheless, keep up the great work. Great video, too.
Great video! Wonderful shots and Liz is stunning! Trying to decide between the Zeiss and the new Sony G master 1.2. From what I'm seeing on a lot of the sample shots out there is that the Zeiss may have a slightly better look to the images .he subject separation with the Zeiss is magic. Waiting to see a few comparisons on the lenses!
Thank you! I just got my hands on the 50mm 1.2 GM and after my first couple shoots with it I think it’s the clear winner. I have a video on it and a comparison coming soon.
Yes I did. Both a hands on and long term review, as well as comparing it to the sigma 35mm 1.2. That last one made some people mad though cause I really like the sigma haha
The reciprocal rule is very much a beginner concept and doesn’t apply to modern cameras very well. With the new sensor stabilization sometimes you can go way lower and get clear shots, but higher megapixels also means motion blur will be more noticeable. Generally when I’m shooting people I like to be at at least 1/100 because people are never perfectly still, and I’d rather have a bit of noise than have a shot totally ruined by motion blur.

Is that for low light?
Hello, i have a problem with my lens 50mm f1.4 zeiss, every time the AF tracking motor focuses on an object, there is a slight noise. is that normal?
Yes, that is completely normal.

Too much grain. You can set your shutter down up to 50
