Stephen feeling that everyone was brighter than him is comical. I suppose there might have been one or two, but few would have lead a life as extraordinary as his.

Oh, please. As if Ox ridge is welcoming to us plebs. I like Stephen but I am so bored of him whilst fully reminiscing. His life has been absurd, and good for him, but he has nothing in common with me and I’m sick of being told that these elitist institutions are for anyone but the sons of gentlemen.
