    Thank you. I am going to try this. I tried other inkscape tutorials to get the bottom text the way I wanted it but it never came out right. What you did looks great. And then you gave us a way to make sure that the text is exactly where it should be within the circle. I really like that. The software that I usually use has a lot of nice features but making things fit in an exact way does not seem to be a priority ... at least I cannot find a way, so far. And fitting the text to the bottom never ends up like I want there. THANK YOU

    Been using Inkscape on and off for over a decade and never noticed that 'Do Geometric Constructions' mode.
    Not that I know a lot of all the functions (quite the contrary) but I thought I knew pretty much all about the toolbar, since that was up until recently all I used and needed.
    In my last projects I looked into filters and textures pretty much for the first time (and fell in love with watercolor and felt - explains how I found Your channel ^^), since in the past working with gradients and such in vector was too much of a hassle for me.
    But I'm pleasantly surprised how far Inkscape has come and how easy it is now :)
    Also glad I found Your channel, since I love maps and stars (btw when You download Stellaris You're able to change a lot more settings) and of course vector graphics, and I admire Your workflow!

      Most important tips:
      In the Sky And Viewing Options Window (F4)
      in the SKY Tab:
      - Toggle Milky Way and Zodiacal Light
      - Lower Absolute and maybe Relative Scale
      - Toggle Labels And Markers
      - Choose Projection (I'd say Perspective for Rectangular, Stereographic, Fish-Eye, Orthographic for Round Star Maps/Charts)
      In the SSO (Solar System Objects):
      - Toggle Moon's Halo, Sun's Glare and Corona
      - Maybe Scale Moon, Planets, Sun
      In the Hotbar on the bottom left of the screen
      - Toggle Fullscreen (F11)
      - Toggle Meteor Showers (Ctrl+Shift+M)
      - Artificial Satellites (Ctrl+Z)
      In the Configuration Window (F2)
      in the TOOLS Tab:
      - Choose path and file type for Your screenshots
      When everything's done, You can hide the toolbars with Ctrl+T and screenshot with Ctrl+S
      Feel free to copy/paste anything above ^^
      Wish You well,

    Just one quick question, I'm using Inkscape 1.1.1 (3bf5ae0d25, 2021-09-20), but I don't seem to have the Geometric Construction tool. Has this been lost or superseded on the latest version release?

    Rick, fyi: at 03:09 that red circle one should get after using PATH|Path Effects|Offset is extremely small over here. In fact, it's so small, I simply cannot select it, nomatter what I try. Therefore I cannot resize the blue outer circel. I have no idea why the red circel in your video is so much bigger then the one I am getting, very strange, but a workaround I used is manipulating the + and - sign in the Offset Menu.

    I'm making a Circle logo, the Visual in the middle is an angel, so when I'm coloring everything using the Fill paint Bucket tool, it colors everything in the middle but if you zoom it you cam see a small white gap that has not been filled up. Sometimes when coloring the blank space the outline darkens and thickens, what do I do??

    • @IronEchoDesign
      @IronEchoDesign  Год назад

      Great question. Paint Bucket is very frustrating and you've highlighted one of the main reasons why. The tool is actually doing a trace bitmap type of function on the fly when we use it. It "screenshots" whatever is in view and does its math on that image.
      What this means to us as the designer is the amount your object is zoomed in or out effects the quality of the Paint Bucket. Crazy, right?
      So you can try adjusting the settings for Paint Bucket, of course, but one way to improve the white space gaps is to zoom in as much as possible and then do Paint Bucket. You can do two or three if its zoomed in to a point where the whole design doesn't fit. Hope this helps!

    Could we use inkscape for professional use? Recently i came across some vids in which they were telling inkscape doesnt support cmyk mode . How do you deal with this problem?

    • @IronEchoDesign
      @IronEchoDesign  3 года назад +3

      Outstanding question. I took this to heart when I started learning Inkscape. Inkscape doesn't yet support CMYK, but technology, especially the current digital landscape, has reduced the issue down to very specific uses. An example of this is some professional screen printers may require CMYK files for perfect color accuracy. However, many POD sites require PNG files (like Inkscape can produce) and PNG are not CMYK. It really comes down to how your artwork colors appear to you on your monitor vs what is produced in the physical world. In my experience, the best way to make sure your colors pop or blend the way you want is to have a sample printed and see for yourself. Modern DTG printers have come a long way. Finally, if you're designing for mobile or web, it doesn't come into play. Pros out there- please feel free to correct me and add your thoughts.

    Hello again Rick. I have other questions for you if you don't mind. What page size do you use in inkscape for creating a logo that would be printed on a shirt? does it matter?
    Is there a proper size you would create the logo at before exporting it to a PNG file? I used a page size of (14.500 by 14.500 in) for a round logo similar to what you did in this tutorial. I had shirts made of it which turned out pretty good I thought. Just wondering if I was doing it right and or could have done it better.
    Could you please tell me what I should set my Portable Network Graphics at when I save my logo? For example. Should I check the "interlacing" box? What Bit Depth should I set it at. By default it is set at RGBA 8. Should I set a "Compression"? By default it says "0 - No Compression" I read the pHYs DPI should be set at 300 which it is by default. The printer where I had my shirts printed stated that as well. Antialias is set at "2". I don't know what any of these setting are or do.
    I read once the file is in PNG format that you can't resize the image after without undesirable results. I think.
    Thank you

    • @IronEchoDesign
      @IronEchoDesign  Год назад

      I know what you mean. Don't know why the default can't let us mirror both sides of a whole without that dividing line. Try starting with only half of the shape. Then the top and bottom nodes of the centerline will connect into a full shape without the division.

    • @IronEchoDesign
      @IronEchoDesign  3 года назад +1

      Another very good question. The page setting stays constant no matter how far you zoom in or out. I know what you mean though- sometimes when I zoom in and start working on details its easy to forget the original scale of the project. Scale everything back to the right proportions relative to the workspace page before exporting for print.
