    The links were not open and couldn't be because of the wind even locals at the hire centres were left wondering why. There was no wind at all Tuesday !! and the bowl was closed the links too , funny that they suddenly open at the weekend , when the wind has been no lighter. Our group has been going to Sauze for many years and we have made the decision not to go any more its just not good value when there is only a couple of runs open and have to get taxis to other parts of the ski area . No refunds on the life pass either. Horribly icy in Sauze because of the rain early in the week and temperature hit a high on Friday of 24 Celsius in the town. I think it's unfair that you're not a bit more honest about these reports to set peoples expectations before they arrive and so they can make plans to visit other areas like Sestriere that had all of the lifts open and was in fact good skiing.

      The very reason we stopped going to the Milky Way. Love the area but if it’s not open why bother going!!!

      "Links shut, icy conditions, patches appearing" this was all mentioned in the video so I'm not sure why you're insinuating that we're hiding anything. We filmed the report on Friday when conditions were a lot better. We can only report how we find it. If you have non typical winter conditions then you have to expect variable piste conditions. Also we spoke to many people that week who despite the conditions had a great time. I accept that not everyone did and there was frustration with the links being shut. We are not going to engage in speculation or conspiracy theories as to why the links were shut. Vialattea said it was gusting at the top of Fraiteve so that was the reason they were shut. The same week Cervinia had 1 lift open so it's not just here that suffered. I think judging by our email inbox we are setting expectations as many people are requesting information on how to get to Montgenevre or Sestriere. We will continue to report it as we find it as that's all we can do.

      @@Sauzeonline James, your reports are much appreciated and looked forward to every Friday. The problem is whoever is running Sauze d’Oulx doesn’t seem to value the end user. So many years I’ve been and hardly any investment in infrastructure. It seems they close runs mid week when tourist want to use the slopes but then open them all at the weekends for the locals. Is this just trying to save on running costs? Why are the links closed at the slightest puff of wind? That’s just an excuse to save money midweek. How can the Monty slopes stay open with the same wind/weather? It looks like this years conditions are poor, very poor everywhere. I’m in Andorra at the moment and I’ve never seen such warm temperatures and thaw/freeze conditions…..horrible, and no more snow forecast for the next 2 weeks !! You have a business to run promoting Sauze so it’s in your interests to paint a rosey picture, understood. My perception is visiting tourist/skiers love Sauze (and your reports) but hate the way it is being managed and run. Looking forward to your report this Friday 😊

    Hi James, for the beer afficionados that are not keen on lager, you can get German weissbier (I think thats how you spell it) in many of the bars both on the hill and in town and........ along with the sunniest smile in Sauze you can get a Dunkle (dark and very tasty beer) in Bar Clotes. Cheeeers!

    We've just returned today from Sauze d'Olux. We had a fantastic week but snow conditions were very poor on our last day (Saturday 27th Jan). Most runs were very icy throughout (hard pack ice) and challenging for even the most experienced skiers. Not sure if this snow report is reflective of the true situation...

    Aren't the tea lift running just beside the colo chairlift only open in the weekend as well? Because that was the case last year, when i went to Sauze... only open in week days. Thanks in advance, Albert from Copenhagen.

    • @Sauzeonline
      @Sauzeonline  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Albert, the button lift in the bowl (Rio Nero) only opens at weekends as it there to alleviate the queues at the 2 man. There's no need for it to run during the week.

    • @NordicRail
