This song is the defenition of "I'm a bad bitch with manic depression.", at least that's what I think the "roaches" are.
Roaches represent the negative thoughts that plague the mind when going through a manic episode. The entire song is about the highs and lows of mania.
I thought it was about Anxiety (any form, "classic", as i refer to it, AKA Generalized Anxiety Disorder or "Social", which is, you guessed it, Social Anxiety) when I first heard this track. And I still KINDA think it, though I know it's about Mania. It could also be used for Depression and ADHD, as people WITH ADHD tend to have a lot of negative/intrusive thoughts. Mine are rampant and almost debilitating. Yes, I've got ADHD. And I believe some form of Autism.

I'd take flies over roaches any day. I can squish flies with my bare hands no problem, that doesn't gross me out too much. But cockroaches make this disgusting crunch when you squish them. Like a cracker being snapped in half. And their blood can have various colors like white, black, red, etc, it's so disgusting I'd rather set myself on fire than get that on my skin.

With the context of this being about manic episodes, I LOVE the bits near the end with the alternating serious and grinning faces. I've only experienced a precious few manic episodes courtesy of my "hey, what if it was only the lows" brand of Bipolar, but boy those visuals felt _right_ in my brain for the few times I've had 'em.

Can I get full explanation on how this potraits a manic episode and such?I want to make artwork based on this song because I feel like it fits one of my friend's OC so I know how to potray her better into the art
Basically, this is my own representation of how my manic episodes make me feel. A lot of the "hyping yourself up" kind of lyrics that come and go in the song is about the highs you experience when the episode starts. You feel as if nothing can take you down and you're amazing and capable of anything.
But as the lyrics go on, they start to mention the roaches and how they "crawl all over me" which is in reference to the sudden overcoming feelings of hopelessness, self doubt, self hate, and immensely low feelings that hit when the bad part of the episode starts to dip.
The roaches, in my song, are actually meant to be a metaphor for the constant uncomfortable physical and mental sensations that come from the swings of a manic episode. Manic episodes are merciless. As are roaches, which are something I fear greatly. Just as I fear my manic episodes.
