Basically, this is my own representation of how my manic episodes make me feel. A lot of the "hyping yourself up" kind of lyrics that come and go in the song is about the highs you experience when the episode starts. You feel as if nothing can take you down and you're amazing and capable of anything. But as the lyrics go on, they start to mention the roaches and how they "crawl all over me" which is in reference to the sudden overcoming feelings of hopelessness, self doubt, self hate, and immensely low feelings that hit when the bad part of the episode starts to dip. The roaches, in my song, are actually meant to be a metaphor for the constant uncomfortable physical and mental sensations that come from the swings of a manic episode. Manic episodes are merciless. As are roaches, which are something I fear greatly. Just as I fear my manic episodes.

A lot of the "hyping yourself up" kind of lyrics that come and go in the song is about the highs you experience when the episode starts. You feel as if nothing can take you down and you're amazing and capable of anything.
But as the lyrics go on, they start to mention the roaches and how they "crawl all over me" which is in reference to the sudden overcoming feelings of hopelessness, self doubt, self hate, and immensely low feelings that hit when the bad part of the episode starts to dip.
The roaches, in my song, are actually meant to be a metaphor for the constant uncomfortable physical and mental sensations that come from the swings of a manic episode. Manic episodes are merciless. As are roaches, which are something I fear greatly. Just as I fear my manic episodes.
