You didn't smuggle anything. You're allowed to stay on that train when it goes through the old station to turn around. I've done it a few times. Gonna sneak in to Central Park next?
In"My haunted diary" video, the guy is actually in the station with a bunch of people getting off the train in the city hall station. Does not look like the impossible mission to me either...
You guys didn’t sneak in at all Lmao. I’ve ridden the 6 train around the loop a few times and the subway conductors are very nice about letting me do it. I got the chance to actually stand on the platform in August 2019 with the NY Transit Museum LEGALLY. It was ten minutes in my life that I’ll remember FOREVER.
I came here to say this, since I've taken the Transit Museum tour twice-which included an informative above-ground walking tour immediately before the tour; I also regularly ride the 6 train around the bend from downtown to uptown, although visibility of the station is ridiculously poor. I'm more interested to see the now-closed lower-level City Hall station on the N line going out to Brooklyn Heights, since you can actually see the station by looking down through the locked gate. I'd love to visit the 18th street station on the 6 train, since that station was closed in the 40s; that's one I've only experienced by pressing my nose to the window when the 4 or 5 train slows just before it reaches the Union Square station.
New York Transit Museum has Old City Hall tour. Old City Hall station tours begin above ground with a historical walk in the area, followed by a visit to the station itself. Tours last 90 minutes and tickets cost $50 per person.
@@whaur1394 Not exactly. You must become a member of the NY Transit Museum (it costs 60 $ per year) and after that you can book a guided tour for 50 $. Total = 110 $ for the 90' visit. Sadly, it's too much for my pocket.

Great video . I wouldn't say smuggled is the right word though.. This little trick is well known by many New Yorkers, I even made a vlog about this at the end of the winter. The conductor generally doesnt' care if you stay on the train.. Now if you had hopped off the train and walked around the abandoned station yourself, THAT would have been interesting.

I've done this a bunch of times. It's very cool. If anyone else decides to do this (perfectly allowed, btw), I'd recommend going during the day when there is sunlight streaming through the glass ceiling. Otherwise it will be very dark and hard to see.
+Jacob Carlson Um... I guess in the sense of legality, yes, but they opened the door which says not to, and they have a rule that says you cannot be on the train past the last stop, so, no, this is not "perfectly allowed"... XD
So as the train is going around are they going slow enough to jump off to explore around I guess the only bad thing about it is you have no way of getting back out unless you wait for the train to leave and then follow the track or tunnel to the next open area... but I guess if you try that you might get arrested

Correct. Staying on the 6 train while it loops around through the old station is completely legal. They even changed the announcements at Brooklyn Bridge (on the newer R-142(a) trains that have automated announcements) to say something like "This is the last downtown stop on this train. The next stop is Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall on the uptown side." It is the only line where the announcements at the last stop don't say "Everyone please leave the train." They used to say that, but the MTA responded to pressure and changed them.
This should be series with these two guys where they try to get to old forgotten places called forgotten Edit: wow I've never gotten so many likes and replys on a comment before thanks guys
My father worked for the MTA for over 20 years - There IS a way in. Every station has "escape tunnels" that lead to the street. You would need to find one of those. People pass them unknowingly every day. Find the "emergency escape exit", and you will have access to the station.

I respect buzz feed workers, this is one the best video I've ever watched on this channel. Please continue it, it's a top series worth being as high as buzzfeed unsolved and worth it
back in the seventies and eighties if you rode the trains at like 1am the trains would usually be rerouted. you would travel through all these abandoned stations with the arches and beautiful tile work. amazing stuff.
To everyone who's about to comment something related to buzzfeed unsolved, please remember that Shane and Ryan aren't the only people in Buzzfeed. Also, this is an entirely different concept from buzzfeed unsolved. People work hard to make these videos, let's take time to actually appreciate these videos for what they are, and not for what they're not.
If you're willing to pay for a membership to the New York City Transit Museum + $50 each person, you can get a tour. They do them 16 times a year. These are the dates for the rest of the year! September 28 6pm-8pm October 8 at 6pm-8pm October 21 at 11am-1 pm and 2pm-4pm November 12 at 2pm-4pm November 18 at 11am-1 pm and 2pm-4pm December 2 at 11am-1 pm and 2pm-4pm December 17 at 2pm-4pm
You guys realize the New York Transit Museum offers tours of the City Hall station right? All you had to do was pay $50 bucks to walk in it. You can't film though lol
I don’t get, why they don’t offer guided tours down there? Here in Berlin we have „Berlin Underworld“, where an association has the rights from the city/transportation authority to visit old abandoned bunkers/subwaystations and with the money, they keep them from falling into disrepair.
VERY cool ! I know it was brief, but it was really glorious to see all the beautiful tile work , arches and skylights. I just can't believe there wasn't ONE REFERENCE to Ninja Turtles!
I usually just watch unsolved and worth it but Buzzfeed could actually make a series out of this that I'd enjoy as well. Yes, there are other youtube channels that do these types of videos but it wouldn't hurt to have another and to have actual journalists research and discover these places for our entertainment. It's interesting, to say the least. I really enjoyed this video. Good job, guys.
That's wrong Buzzfeed hires Writers for their "News" on their website but they also employ content creators for their youtube channels who don't report the news. The people in this video are not journalists there are cameramen and a host, no journalists.
Since you guys are NYC based, you guys should go to the abandoned Seaview Asylum in Staten Island :^). Staten Island is gross and it totally sucks but it's well worth the trip, this is the asylum that season 2 of AHS was based off of!
To me it’s funny because not a lot of people get to step foot on that old abandon city hall train station stop. But since I work in the MTA I got to walk on that old abandon station and it’s really nice the colorful tile, and the way it was built.
While this was very interesting and that platform is absolutely gorgeous; I would love to see them do something with the abandoned train platforms in London. They are pretty famous.
When I worked for Transit Authority summer program, they took on tour which included the City Hall train stop. We were able to stay on train as the 6 train was getting ready to go back uptown. Like you mentioned there is large gap between train and old platform. It looked really nice
Dude - everyone knows (in the area) the 6 train loops around the old City Hall station to go uptown. And they have tours. Now, never mind that dopey station. The 18th Street abandoned station further uptown on the Lex is the real deal. More surprised the train doors weren't locked... BuzzFeed Blew.
Lol this is funny why don't you guys just do one of the transit museum tours they do for this station and you can actually go walk this station legally? They supposedly do about 16 tours a year and tickets are $50 bucks but act quickly as tickets sell out fast. I have seen photos down there but no video is allowed I guess hut all you have to do is pretend your taking photos and record video.
It's $50 for the tour, but you have to be a Transit Museum member to sign up. That's another $60, for a total of $110 per person. I don't want it that badly.
7 minutes of buildup just to watch these 2 stay on the 6 train loop?? Which is perfectly allowed btw. This was so lame. There are so many other videos of people actually sneaking in. 2 guys celebrating because they sat on the 6 train... awesome. Whats next? You gonna stay on the 6 train to see the abandoned Worth St subway stop and slow-mo it??
NYCHeckler I just have you Thumbs Up #100! 😉👍🏻 ALSO...I'm with ya 100% on your comment, I truly am. Don't hold back on ANYTHING ya find lame, because without quips from people like you, things wouldn't get changed up at all, and lousy crap after crap would continue to get churned out.
the buzzfeed video about this station that I watched before this one.. really sucked. they had a guided tour into the station, but didn't show much more than what can already be seen in pictures. an elevator and a door to the train car.
For one the Proper People did avoid going to this abandoned station. They explained this in one of their vlogs in NYC where they also rode the 6 train loop to see it. People need to wisen up. When it comes to subway stations, you are asking to get yourself killed unless you take an official tour or find an explorer who know the schedules and tracks in and out. Even then, there are always delays and hiccups in the schedule, express trains etc. so your safety is still not even guaranteed even if you know what you're doing. Steve Duncan is one of those experienced explorers, and his video they were not far from getting flattened.

Agree 100%
I like the historical hidden gem aspect of this video. I hope there's more to come.
Agreed!
I mean just give a chance to new comers. They too have ideas to show us.
EXACTLY
I agree but I live for "wheeze"
Janssen Bozon did buzzfeed hire you ?

VanillaCupcakes13 You Are The Real MVP!!! Thanks for the info
You guys realize the New York Transit Museum offers tours of the City Hall station right? All you had to do was pay $50 bucks to walk in it. You can't film though lol
lmao
James Gold I accidently saw the city hall subway station when I went through the loop. I looked it up and you have to be a member of the museum.
true story.
$50 and you cannot even film that means he could not put it on youtube which is why he is doing it
That's what hidden/button cams were made for...
I don’t get, why they don’t offer guided tours down there? Here in Berlin we have „Berlin Underworld“, where an association has the rights from the city/transportation authority to visit old abandoned bunkers/subwaystations and with the money, they keep them from falling into disrepair.
Waiting for buzzfeed unsolved xdddd
You gonna be waitin' a week, booboo. lol
Only 4 days, actually.

Isn't that the train station that fantastic beasts and where to find them was filmed
It's not where it was filmed but I guess it's where the scene was set. Not sure about that either though...
I WAS LOOKING FOR THIS COMMENT I SAW IT AND I WAS LIKE OMG

Molly Campbell fantastic beasts was filmed in Liverpool in the U.K. But it was set in New York
1 min through and I thought the same lmao
“This is a City Hall bound (6) Local train. The next and last stop is *City Hall* “
Is it weird that I got a little emotional when they finally got to see City Hall? idk lol
No, not weird at all.

I was thinking what if they actually filmed there
It's possible
This station was the inspiration for it
Yesss
Guys if you want to see the city hall station and not act like children, join the Transit museum. they do tours a few times a year free! and legal

I agree that this is good but I wouldn't go as far as to call these people journalists.
Wood Elf but they are journalists. That's their job. Buzzfeed may produce fluff pieces but journalists write them.
That's wrong Buzzfeed hires Writers for their "News" on their website but they also employ content creators for their youtube channels who don't report the news. The people in this video are not journalists there are cameramen and a host, no journalists.
Lol journalists
Since you guys are NYC based, you guys should go to the abandoned Seaview Asylum in Staten Island :^). Staten Island is gross and it totally sucks but it's well worth the trip, this is the asylum that season 2 of AHS was based off of!
Soybean Wind did you just say a whole burrow is gross....
Soybean Wind yes they did and I completely agree being that I live there but seaview, amongst our other various abandoned places, are a gift
I love that place!
i just was in yesterday lol
Staten Island isn't gross you dolt
What a waste. They could make money with that train station if they opened it to the public for tours. I'd pay
To me it’s funny because not a lot of people get to step foot on that old abandon city hall train station stop. But since I work in the MTA I got to walk on that old abandon station and it’s really nice the colorful tile, and the way it was built.
Would you be able to take some photos one day and post them online?
@@VincentIrkallaOfficial they're already online.
Try here
Nycsubway.org
Please do it Steven.
YES YES YES FOR THE LOVE OF GOD BUZZFEED MORE OF THIS
While this was very interesting and that platform is absolutely gorgeous; I would love to see them do something with the abandoned train platforms in London. They are pretty famous.
When I worked for Transit Authority summer program, they took on tour which included the City Hall train stop. We were able to stay on train as the 6 train was getting ready to go back uptown. Like you mentioned there is large gap between train and old platform. It looked really nice
Umm the station isn't forgotten. You can request a tour from the New York Transit Museum.

Up until recently you can go on the tour but it was abandoned for many years. Also the tours are only like 3 times a year.
Go to the Central Terminal in Buffalo, New York. I heard there's amazing history there and maybe even some ghosts!
KRISmas Eve it's so cool there
Dude - everyone knows (in the area) the 6 train loops around the old City Hall station to go uptown. And they have tours. Now, never mind that dopey station. The 18th Street abandoned station further uptown on the Lex is the real deal. More surprised the train doors weren't locked... BuzzFeed Blew.
18th street station looks horrible. why would that be better?
Those doors between cars are NEVER locked. They are emergency exits.
Grew up in NYC writing graffiti in the mid 80s. They're ghost stations everywhere.
@@Onetwothreepeanuts thug you should be punched in ur tiny peanuts
@@bradleycooper5112hahahaha. Hold on Mr. ADAMS. O.G. Lol
The person operating the train is called a Motorman or Train Operator, the conductor is the that opens and closes the doors.
*you're
This feels cooler lol
It's $50 for the tour, but you have to be a Transit Museum member to sign up. That's another $60, for a total of $110 per person. I don't want it that badly.
Video is very much allowed. No tripods though. www.nytransitmuseum.org/oldcityhall/
Thank You!!!! I was watching this fake news saying all along "they give tours" the whole time...
This right here is what you call CLICKBAIT
Just needed to Google the station and read the Wikipedia article.
Yeah, this is like the highest high for clickbait.
Clickbait 101
Logamus Prime littrally the definition
Pure Matrix black police was nice other white guy say u can’t go there something like that but they went thou 8-18-18
In The City Hall Station (R)(W) On the lower level there is an abandoned platform it’s kind of a yard
Make a series called:ABANDONED
There’s already a better series called abandoned. RUclips it, it’s very good.
Alex McNeice I think it was a joke. Also, "WHAT'S UP GUYS?" :)
Welcome to aBANdoned!
"This is Jaaaaake"
7 minutes of buildup just to watch these 2 stay on the 6 train loop?? Which is perfectly allowed btw. This was so lame. There are so many other videos of people actually sneaking in. 2 guys celebrating because they sat on the 6 train... awesome. Whats next? You gonna stay on the 6 train to see the abandoned Worth St subway stop and slow-mo it??
yeah but they have beards and a over abundant self absorption
NYCHeckler I just have you Thumbs Up #100! 😉👍🏻
ALSO...I'm with ya 100% on your comment, I truly am. Don't hold back on ANYTHING ya find lame, because without quips from people like you, things wouldn't get changed up at all, and lousy crap after crap would continue to get churned out.
right lol
Clickbait bs
but the super grainy / out of focus footage was soooo worth it.
i somehow expected them to jump off and start exploring the place
"We'd gone to the station without breaking any law"
LITERALLY A SIGN SAYING:
*Riding or moving between cars is prohibited*
THIS MADE ME WANT TO CRY OMG SO HAPPY YOU GUYS DID THIS
C'mon guys that was totally lame. The Proper People would've found a way in and not chickened out and rode a train through it. :/ smh
the buzzfeed video about this station that I watched before this one.. really sucked. they had a guided tour into the station, but didn't show much more than what can already be seen in pictures. an elevator and a door to the train car.
There is a video of people sneaking into the station and they recorded it on foot, not on a train if u wanna see it
@@vexpho4512 where is this?
MY NEW BUZZFEED OBSESSION! I could see this being as is as the unsolved series!
Better to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission. Make more of these. This was great.
This is actually really interesting there should be more
