Miriam, is spondylolisthesis considered a structural problem? I hear you say the if it’s not a structural problem it’s probably TMS. I was diagnosed with spondylolisthesis and degenerative disc disease. I have pain and numbness in my feet but not all the time. I’m now confused as what to do. The doctor wants to do surgery, but I’m not feeling very good about that.
When I was 10 years old my dad suffered a stroke and was paralyzed. I am now 74. And have been going through back pain and occasional numbness in my feet since I retired. Could what happened to my father still have an affect on me now?
I can answer that, as I recently read a book by a noted psychoanalyst, and she wrote about health problems and emotional reactions she had when she reached the age her mother had died. So yes, even trained therapists can have unusual grief reactions and subconscious fears decades later, perhaps wondering subconsciously, "Might this happen to me too?" Miriam could likely answer better, however.
@@joesedlacek7552 You're in the right place. Somatic reprocessing can help you sit with challenging emotions and sensations, and in facing and feeling them, transform them. I've had old traumas come to mind, and as I watch them with tenderness and self love, they lose their power. Best of luck!
I never say symptoms are in your head. All of them are also physical, just not necessarily structural or ilness related. Please learn more about TMS/MindBody syndrome to really understand how it works
Doctors need to LEARN about mind/body /TMS so they can stop causing fear in patients with misdiagnosis!
Thank you for this! ❤
Some great points! I’m keen to discuss another couple of distinct ones too.

I had a stroke in 2015 I now have burning pain in my left side. I know it's TMS it just comes and goes.
So TRUE!!!
I actually feel a little pain but I have severe muscle tension and sometimes it's as if I'm fighting with my muscles to move
