    But if there IS a structural issue (like a misaligned pelvis), can that be emotional?

    • @painoutsidethebox
      @painoutsidethebox День назад

      The misaligned pelvis would be something separate, and probably not the cause of the actual pain you're feeling. Everyone is a bit unbalanced or misaligned somewhere or other, but that doesn't mean that the misalignment is causing pain. We have to get clear on that first. You've probably been a bit misaligned all your life, so why would you have started feeling pain when you did? The reason is probably emotional, unless you really had a bad accident and you're still healing.

    Hi Miriam! So this is gonna sound a little silly I'm sure, but; my symptoms, per assessments like these, are 100000% TMS. On Dr Schubiner's FIT Criteria for example, I literally tick all of them besides one. I suffer from idiopathic red, flushing extremities and they have their own mood, they spread to different areas, they're in both feet (and switch feet!) and then SOMETIMES my hands... but despite believing in TMS, receiving reassurance, etc. I still struggle with doubt - almost obsession. What do you think we should do when we have the "knowledge" on an intellectual level and do believe it makes sense, believe it COULD be true, but this hasn't translated to that deep inner knowing? Basically how do we bridge intellectual knowledge to inner knowing if it doesnt come automatically? Just time, patience?

    • @painoutsidethebox
      @painoutsidethebox День назад

      That's actually a very good question. The next step is to embody that knowledge. Start trusting your body more, take actions that display this kind of trust (e.g. don't move with fear or caution, move as naturally as you can). Also, processing and validating negative emotions so you respect yourself more and have more compassion for yourself (this sends messages of safety to the brain). I explain the 'action phase' in more detail and give tasks and exercises in my Program if you're interested.

      Start slowly with activity. Start with moving your body a bit more naturally, and walking short distances first while reducing your fear. As soon as you react to pain with disappointment and upsetness, this holds you back, so you have to be very disciplined with yourself not to buy into the fear.

    • @painoutsidethebox
      @painoutsidethebox 4 дня назад

      Yes, I understand that would happen sometimes. It's ok to fall into doubt now and then, and you can't change this if it's already happened. The important thing is that you can always make your case again, and cultivate a firmer belief. Sometimes we need to be very strict with our thoughts! We need to give some thoughts less meaning.

    Hello! Thanks for your information. I've been having psychosomatic back pain for over 45 years. I went through all possible treatments and different types of specialists. Finally I came to the conclusion: psychosomatic back pain. It comes and goes anytime and anywhere. In my case it's related to my mental health. Any stress or situation can trigger that. If I don't have it for a while I have noticed I am waiting for it😮 I don't talk about it with anyone but I keep touching my back all the time. Also doing some meditation and self talk. My psychosomatic pain is more tolerable now because of the above technique. I know it will come and go but it depends on my subconscious mind. Keep fighting ❤

Not everyone completes the program till the end (like with all online programs), but from those who complete it and whom I've talked to I'd say about 40% had complete symptom elimination and 50% experienced improvement. The improvement typically continues after program completion as individuals continue implementing the teachings and habits. About 20% need a coaching session or additional therapy / work.

      Because you believe you have a repetitive strain injury. It is still so confusing if it's TMS if an MRI says severe arthritis in hips and I've had the pain for years. I listened to one of your videos awhile ago and was able to get the extreme leg pain to stop for a a couple hours. Whenever I exercise or walk I'm right back in pain with leg stiffened up like a tree trunk.

      @painoutsidethebox 2 месяца назад

      Many individuals have arthritis in the hips but no pain. If the pain changes from day to day, or you've had 'exceptions' as you mentioned above, then probably TMS. Arthritis can be present anyway without pain, and it is often wrongly blamed for causing pain. You also mention just one leg... but you probably have arthritis in both hips right? If you still feel unsure, it's best to consult a TMS doctor like Dr David Schechter to give you a more accurate diagnosis.

      No it's the very opposite of just sitting there and doing nothing actually ;-) Start by reading one of Dr John Sarno's book, then work consistently on changing those habits and traits that you identify as keeping you stuck in pain. I have a program to help you do just that if you';re interested, it's only $143 with lifetime access. But you do need to commit to the work, it's definitely not about simply reading or watching a video and doing nothing. Lots of self-reflection tasks are involved, plus changes in habits that are probably keeping you stuck with the symptoms. P.S. Your psychotherapist is probably unfamiliar with TMS / mindbody principles so he may not be the best person to help you. You need a TMS Practitioner, or at least, read an author who is into TMS, such as Sarno, Howard Schubiner or Steve Ozanich.

      Very likely, when you're walking a short distance or stand you have more time to 'think', contemplate negatively and tune into the pain area, whereas when you're jogging or doing more vigorous exercise you are more distracted. There might be more work needed in the area of emotional processing and expression. Do you journal regularly? Are you able to respect yourself, your boundaries and show yourself love and compassion? These aspects are equally important for healing.

    How do you overcome misaphonia? The brain perceives certain sounds as dangerous and triggers an emotional response. Should I approach it exactly the same as pain TMS symptoms?

      Yes more or less. Re-interpreting the sounds as safe by letting go of your resistance to them. If you avoid exposure you're likely creating more 'danger signals' so you should gradually expose yourself to these sounds, all while also working on any underlying emotional issues (stress, depression, etc always make these symptoms worse)
