Thank you! Sharing my love of music and buying a piano have been blessing gs to my family. My son with autism truly benefits from our drumming together/making music as a release and way of connecting

Music itself is therapeutic, but when you combine it with actual therapeutic techniques, wow! it’s becomes an even more powerful tool for healing. Thank you SOOO much for bringing healing into the world and for sharing this video. I’m inspired by your compassion and your skill as a music therapist.

Great stuff! I don‘t work with adult groups (except with my bands 😁), but I occassionally do rhythm sessions with children - sometimes including a parent or two. Kids are faster learners than adults - often putting them in a spot where the adults (believe) to lose some authority. Some kids give instant support, others just laugh. Adults usually don‘t want either. 😝
So - that‘s what I take away from this lesson - I give a supportive role to a parent. Let them be a co-trainer and let them keep their authority while still being part of the learning process. They can keep up the base rhythm, or initiate the first breaks etc. Anything that will respect their slower learning pace without making it obvious that they‘re slower.
I suppose that will also produce a happy crowd. 🤓

I imagine you're right about adults vs. children with regard to learning speed. Some of that has to do with confidence and risk taking. Adults tend to be more conservative. Yes, "Happy Crowd" for sure. It's all about the feeling.

Hi, I'm a therapist and want to play music during sessions, I need to have my voice present and have control of the music to use in the background during sessions. Is this possible?
    Thanks for the video 🙏
