This recipe was one my stepmother made back when I was a kid over 50 years ago. I was never able to replicate it. Too hard and crunchy. Never occurred to me to add a bit of water to maintain that chewie factor. Ordered all the ingredients and cannot wait to try your version of this fab recipe. Let's eat!
Made these tonight and they came out perfect. Thanks for yet another awesome video with just the right amount of detail to make the recipe turn out really well. YUM.
Great snack/desert. My wife is a nutritionist and she liked it. It is already gluten free by using the rice. For lactose intolerant people a dairy free chocolate chip makes this great for us to. Thank You
Mmm these look delish! I just made some melting pumpkin spice marshmallows with 3T butter then added chopped walnuts and dried cranberries. I also use strawberry marshmallows and coconut with Cocoa Pebbles and sprinkle with m&m baking bits or mini chocolate chips. I'm always making different combinations. I'll have to try yours!
We call ours Sweet Marie Bars. The recipe is very similar, but we use butter, golden corn syrup and brown sugar. I also preheat the oven broiler, put the chocolate chips on top of Rice Krispies and place under the broiler for about 30 to 45 seconds then take out and spread the chocolate with a knife. Been making them for over 30 years. Delicious.
I appreciate the simplicity of your recipes short sweet easy to understand and follow and I’m especially GRATEFUL 🙏🏽that you have links but you post the ingredients and instructions right here!!!🤗
anytime i have made rice krispie treats (by myself or with my mom or sister) we've used butter and marshmallows for the mix. i've never heard of this corn syrup and sugar mix. how do they compare? from the pictures they look quite dense
i0 i think marshmallows are just corn syrup and sugar thats been whipped so its soft and airy, it does look denser but probably because the candy mixture isnt whipped
For regular rice krispie treats, the butter and marshmallows work great. But these are peanut butter treats. And adding peanut butter to an already soft mix (butter and marshmallows) will yield a soupy mess that will never set up. So to make something that *_will_* set up requires you to use corn syrup and sugar to make a candy first. That's the difference. And yes, they are dense but they are not hard. They are just as soft as regular rice krispie treats if done correctly. With all that said, the only time you need to use corn syrup and sugar is when making peanut butter treats. For plain treats, stick to the butter and marshmallows.
Crouton Crackerjacks lol soupy and slightly greasy from the pnut butter and butter mix right? i love your channel and watch it frequently, love your way of explaining everything and using what you have at the house, i cook like that. keep up the good work👍
Try inverting the pan and shaping the foil to the outside of the pan. Firmly press all corners and the sides of the foil to the inverted pan. Remove the 'pre-shaped' foil and flip the pan back over. The pre-shaped foil will fit perfectly to the inside of the pan.
Crouton always comes through Was looking fir a PB treat reciepe that didn't require marshmallow. Have several bottles of light 🌽 syrup that I'm trying to use up. This reciepe is perfect!
Beginning at 7:01 there is a 💗 in the 3rd crispy treat (top square). In your french toast video I found a heart in the skillet. I love your videos. Not only do I learn something for my kids & me, it's a.m.s.r. (autonomous sensory meridian response)='s RELAXING 😉
I will be making these tonight! Love - Love your video. Simple and easy to follow. Also, ALL the tips are great. This is for the office b-day party tomorrow. Check back with you then.
I did a twist on these with a single box individual serving rice crispy cereal. I’m awaiting the results rn got it in the freezer my recipe goes as follows: -1 single serving box rice crispy cereal -3 table spoons peanut butter -2 table spoons Nestle chocolate milk powder(optional) -1 to 3 table spoons honey(optional) -1/4 cup eggnog/milk(optional) Ina bowl add your peanut butter and pop in microwave for 1 minute. Before doing this I add a spoon of neslte chocolate milk powder and a little milk few table spoons and mix it up. After the peanut butter is done heating up I then add my cereal to the peanut buttah and mix away, it’s best to do it while warm as it’s easier to mix and once I got it all incorporated I add it to a small rectangular Tupperware lined with foil, (i know I am speaking like I’ve done this before I assure u I’m still waiting for it to be done setting in the feeezer) Once I had it spread out I took a cup, added the milk and a little egg nog followed with a few table spoons of honey and the choco powder and made the chocolate topping and added it tk the top and covered and put in my feeeezer. Now I’m going to check it and comment for the results I’ll let u know how it came out
I made these today and they are sooo good. I used a dark 13x9 pan and just brushed some baking spray on it. I also didn’t add salt because I love sweet sweets. Also I found that because I used a longer pan you will definitely need the whole bag of chocolate morsels in my opinion! Turned out great thanks!
I follow the rice crispy recipe. But my twist I use the 9x13 pan. And it calls for so much chocolate semisweet and so much butter scotch. I use the bag of each .we never had any complaint about our bars. " Chocolate scotch aroos"
@Crouton Crackerjacks We miss you!!!! Also, I love anything with strawberries. How would I go about making a strawberry topping opposed to a Choc/White topping? I wanna attempt this but I really want a strawberry topping. Thank you
I made this for Christmas but I made them into 1" ball's. It's the same recipe I had. When rolling them to keep from sticking just dampened your finger with a tad of water.
You can but they will be uber sticky and not hold their shape well. It actually makes more of a mess than anything if you try and lessen the sugar. The better solution would be to just not eat as many. ;-)
Thanks for such a simple recipe! They came out great. I appreciate your content!
Just what i was looking for. Thank you for not Overcomplicating it.😊😊
love these!! i pour chips over top of cookies in pan and use my blow dryer to melt and spread with spatula

did they come out gooey?
@@spr6577 chewy more than gooey. Rice cereal still gives it a crunch, but the end product is nicely chewy.
This recipe is a gem !
Thanks so much. I have NEVER had such a simple put-together success before .. Love it

Never heard of corn syrup in rice crispy squares? My mother always made them with melted marshmallows and butter and they were great.

Loved your recipes.will.
woah a vegan rice krispy treat recipe! well vegan if you use dark chocolate. this is a great recipe for people that can't eat gelatin thank you!
sujurean dark chocolate is not suitable for vegans as it contains dairy. Has to be vegan chocolate with no dairy!
I have really missed your videos. These look amazing btw
This is excellent, thank you!
Awesome Sauce😊!

Can this recipe also work with Coco Pops?
Yes
I made these today and they are sooo good. I used a dark 13x9 pan and just brushed some baking spray on it. I also didn’t add salt because I love sweet sweets. hi can I use it on popcorn as well?

Thank you.
I would use baking paper rather than tin foil also I would use the back of dessert spoon rather than your fingers but even so they look great😊
@Crouton Crackerjacks We miss you!!!! Also, I love anything with strawberries. How would I go about making a strawberry topping opposed to a Choc/White topping? I wanna attempt this but I really want a strawberry topping. Thank you
those look wonderful! :-)
I'm not sure, but I think brown rice syrup might work in place of corn syrup.
Ok, those are up next! Your recipes are always so good! Thank you!!
ummmm, delicioso!!!
mm smakówa........
Just butter the pan. Not everybody has foil. Delicious treat
What 3rd world country do you live in?
Can you substitute corn syrup with mapley syrup?
No. They aren't the same type of substance.
I use non stick spray for my pan
Can we use nutella instead of chocolate chips? 😊
Where’s the description down below? I can’t find it ti get the ingredients!
I think I would prefer only adding melted marshmallows, unsalted butter then vanilla extract.
And you'd be wrong.
i like to make this and i like to make caramel flavour , can you advoice me to make caramel insted of penut butter flavour ?
I made this for Christmas but I made them into 1" ball's. It's the same recipe I had. When rolling them to keep from sticking just dampened your finger with a tad of water.
love your voice
You can use aluminum pans as well
can we make it with less sugar.
You can but they will be uber sticky and not hold their shape well. It actually makes more of a mess than anything if you try and lessen the sugar. The better solution would be to just not eat as many. ;-)
