I bought the ingredients because my mom wanted some homemade ones. She’s hurting because she had surgery not too long ago and just wanted something sweet. So, I’m gonna make them as a surprise, but also add peanut butter. I remember her making them for me when I was small, so now I can make them for her 😌
I've only ever made these squares using the amount of butter stated in the recipe. However, you could try making them with more or less butter if you like. You don't need to line the pan with paper, you can simply butter or spray it with a non stick vegetable spray.
Poetry N'motion reread my comment before passively insulting me. “No offense” clearly mean you will say something negative afterwards 😒 The thing with Cannabutter is it has its own taste, which don’t match every desert. I tried this rice crispy the sweet taste covers it up. I tried to bake it with something more healthy that don’t have much sugar, nope won’t do the taste of the cannabutter is way to strong for it.
Stephanie, I am sure that you have heard this many times but you are the most reliable baker in the baking department ! You have been my “ go to” for years . Thanks you so much.
Who else was eating Rice Krispie and thought it was so good you wanted to know how to make it 😂😂😂😂😂 ( oh shit Im back after 3 yrs , follow my instagram tho @consueloaguilar_ )
This is my favorite sweet. MY sister once made me a big round one and frosted it for my birthday. It was so colorful and great. I just loved it. Has anyone used coco puffs? Those are so good, I always thought those would be good????
Hahahaa I see things like that in recipes ALL THE TIME and I find it hilarious. my best guess is that it's better to use unsalted butter then use butter to be able to control the saltiness
I can’t thank you enough. I am starting a week long vacation and was looking for some ideas for my daughter and myself to do. You made this seem so easy to do, and I can’t wait for daddy/daughter time ❤
Hello, A few years ago I got into cooking and baking for the family; I was retired at the time. Then I started taking part time jobs prep, some cooking, some baking. Now I’m with a child care center and responsible for getting snacks and meals together, 3 times a day M-F. Today I made this recipe for 80 kids and while I haven’t served them yet, I think they turned out quite well! Your tip on spraying Everything was right on the money. Thank you!
Thank you! I've cooked a lot of foods, baked an OK amount, can make an amazing filet mignon with 5 other courses. Never made rice crispy treats before. I figured it was this simple but needed this video and made some delicious chocolate pebble treats tonight.
Ive always liked well done home-made ones better than the ones you buy pre-made. Different texture and the buttery flavor of home-made freshness is lacking in the ones you buy.
In a big pot I add a stick of salted butter. A pound of marshmellos and a pound of cereal. The spray is not needed at all. Any rice krispy cereal is fine but my favorite is cocoa pebbles or fruity pebbles. I like my treats to be around a half inch thick. Its a real good breakfast snack on the go.
I’m watching this for the 100th time in 2023, I love this so much and I’m glad that I get the opportunity to get step by step that tasted delicious and with clear steps ❤❤❤❤
Thankyou for this recipe. We used to make these years and years ago when i was a kid. Haven't made them for ages. See so many different recipes for them. I was searching for the original classic recipe and this is it. Thanks so much. Will make them tomorrow. Might try to add m&ms. Never did that before😊
Returned home in the wee hours this morning from shooting pool thinking something sweet would be good and noticed the box of KRK and package of mini marshmallows on my kitchen counter. Checked out a couple RUclips RKT recipe/instruction vids liking this one the best. I appreciate Stephanie’s use of pure vanilla extract for added flavor. I used about 15ml of Knob Creek Bourbon. I also appreciate Stephanie’s idea of spraying cooking spray on her hands but that is messy. I buy 50 count box disposable latex gloves at CVS for handling garlic, onions … so spray gloved hands and personal clean up is easy and fast, just dispose of the gloves. She is right, great after pool treat!
Was just checking the many recipes for this easy treat and came upon your video. I found it helpful. I have never added vanilla, but I am going try it next time. Thanks for sharing your recipe and time.
I did it differently. See, it was my first time doing this so what I did was melt the marshmallows first and DIDN'T put the butter along with it. By the way, I used a different kind of marshmallow. My marshmallow was a lot bigger than yours. Is that bad? Anyways, after the marshmallows exploded in the microwave, I immediately took it out and then melted the butter separately. Once the butter was melted, I mixed the marshmallows and butter together. Then I poured Cocoa (not the Fruity kind) into the mix and whisked it until it was... ready. It's fun making this but mine was sort of a disaster.
I just got done making these & I just needed help with a tip on the easiest way to pack it down into the pan!! I tried the spatula, the wax paper & everything just stuck lol I tried the oil spray on hands & it WORKED!! Thanks!!
I'm doing a Halloween baking thing at my job, so I put candy bones and red sprinkles in mine! The video really helped me get everything ready in the right order, and prevented a sticky mess!!
I refer to this video every time I make Rice Krispie treats. I make them maybe once a year so I am always like “how do I make these without it being a sticky mess”. This video is so great. And adding the vanilla makes them so much tastier!
I made these on Christmas Eve, and my family devoured the whole tray. 😂 Hadn’t made them in years, and I added some marshmallow cream into it as I mixed the melted butter and marshmallows and Rice Krispies. They were extra gooey and so delicious, even mom had a little bit!
I'm a vegetarian and I found at in the health food section at the grocery store where I shop gelatin free marshmallows that are the same texture as regular marshmallows and are very tasty. I've actually made this version of rice Krispy treats with the gelatin free marshmallows and they came out great! The store had both regular size and miniature gelatin free ones. I tried the marshmallows fluff for these treats a coulee of years and the fluff just doesn't work and the treats are very soft, not set like with regular marshmallows. Tonight I'm going to make these but I'm going to use the chocolate rice Krispy cereal instead.
Isabella Forte other than the vegan gelatin free, regular marshmallows are made from cow hooves which is where they get the gelatin from to make a lot of things, including marshmallows.

This is the perfect Rice Krispie treat recipe- very moreish! I do it all in the microwave and use my favourite marshmallows (the pink and white ones sold in the U.K.) but I don’t bother with the mini ones as they’re a bit more expensive. I’ve noticed homemade marshmallows don’t seem to work well in Rice Krispie treats as it makes the cereal soggy… Let me know if you’ve had success with this. Next time I will top the Rice Krispie treats with melted homemade soft caramels, roasted peanuts and a layer of chocolate 😋.
Late to the party but... I'm the rice crispy treat maker in my family. Everyone wants my treats. Why? Because along with the butter, which I always increase a little bit, I add one teaspoon of butter flavoring. I also add a few more rice crispies than the recipe calls for so they don't collapse when you pick them up. Then after I pour them out onto my baking sheet (I always double the recipe so a big baking sheet is necessary), I put a little butter on my hands, rub them together and pat down the treats pretty tight. I slice them up after they cool and wrap each three inch square with plastic wrap. My sister requests...no, demands, these every Christmas. They are a big family favorite. Happy Holidays everyone!! 🎅🎄
Lets just tell the entire internet that you're 7 years old... by the way nobody cares how old you are, only the pedos out there want to know your age... so go get your parents and tell them to start supervising you more often cause you definitely need it.

I just made this a few months ago with your recipie it tasted way better.
I’ve literally watched this video a hundred time before since I was a kid whenever I wanna make them I watch it and it always turns out amazing ❤️
This is probably my favorite simple recipe and it’s amazing how great this is even almost a decade later
Unsalted butter, add salt, lol
ikr I was thinking the same thing too
+LucisFerre1 lol i think it's because she only had unsalted butter in her fridge
Hahahaa I see things like that in recipes ALL THE TIME and I find it hilarious. my best guess is that it's better to use unsalted butter then use butter to be able to control the saltiness
1. To control the amount of salt added
2. Unsalted butter is fresher than salted butter
+sapphirekongleeje do you have to add vanilla ? does it make a difference without it ?
I can’t thank you enough. I am starting a week long vacation and was looking for some ideas for my daughter and myself to do. You made this seem so easy to do, and I can’t wait for daddy/daughter time ❤

Isabella A Rossellini do u know what marshmallows are made of?
Isabella Forte other than the vegan gelatin free, regular marshmallows are made from cow hooves which is where they get the gelatin from to make a lot of things, including marshmallows.
About to make this with m&m’s
I made them, they are amazing!!!❤️😋
I would of never thought of spraying down everything with PAM, such an easy fix to a sticky situation. That’ll save me so much time and frustration when cleaning. Thank you for posting.
This is one of the best recipes on RUclips I enjoy this
Thank you so much, I love the thought of putting raisins into this. Now with quarantine, this will be fun to make for the grandkids.

I think I'll make these with xmas spinkles for everyone at work!
Yuuumy!!
How different is the taste from the already packaged crispies ? And can you add food coloring ?
Yes you could add food coloring. I’m sorry but I have never tasted commercially made treats so I don’t know the answer to your question.
watching this in 2022, followed the instructions and they are amazing ! i also added some chocolate chips !!
This might be stupid but do you eat it
KillerB Velasquez of course!
Noooo u stick it up your ass
randomstuff come on dude... still, that was funny.
randomstuff don't forget to spray your ass with that PAM too!!! :D

Thanks for the video Stephanie looks Tasty
Why spray the pot if you're putting butter inside
she sprays it at the side of the pot
To coat the sides. You can do that with a stick of butter too.
right
So it won't stick.
For the sides
That’s very good and thanks for your sharing tips.
