I grew up going to an old church that had a Hammond B3. I was also a fan of DP as a kid. I remember watching the lady organist playing her hymns thinking how awesome it would be to see Jon Lord stroll in with a Marshall and a Leslie. Lol RIP pal. You made your mark!
I was on Jon Lords concert with Symphonic orchestra in Saint Petersburg, Russia in 2011. I got his sign on the promo booklet and also one of the 2 drummers stick which drummer played all concert. That was one of the best day of my life, also cos the last song was Child in Time. My man, that was incredible. God bless you, Jon Lord.

Так что косвенно этот человек повлиял на моё рождение, за что ему спасибо.
Where can I find the whole video, ie when Lord talks also about his organ sound? I know it was available on youtube but taken down (due to copyright issue?)
так он закончил играть на этом месте, обозначив, что дальше идет часть импровизационная, хотя на концертах он почти все соло импровизировал, оставляя 4 такта на основную идею, спёртую у Баха.
Jon was the coolest rock star from the 70s
The coolest would be Bill ward in my opinion
@@RoRo-vr6wxJon Lord calm and always a gentleman in my opinion top cool man .
Yes, and he also had the best mustache.
Whatever: DP never dies

Rest in peace Maestro ❤

and then Jon cranked it up to eleven
0:41 love how he says so nonchalant: we played it loud.
The world was never the same before nor since.
Ive smoked so many amps and speakers whenever this comes on. Ya gotta.
Sorta speaks for itself...most excellent!
He's legend❤

How amazing that all the years I could have lived I lived in the life and times of Jon Lord.

I love this video so much RIP JON!!

cette musique aurra été un bonheur toute ma vie . ❤

It's such a GREAT part!!!
JOHN IS A "LORD"!
The only person in music I wish I had of met when alive fascinating character ,he just exudes confidence. .
Today, we take sounds we hear in music for granted. When this came out, it was a very novel sound from a Hammond organ.

Purple weren’t a hard rock band they played space age .. 🚀 rocket ‘n’ roll .. cunningly transmogrified from the 50’s. The best live rock band on 🌍
