One aspect of Fantasy Music I always wanted to try is Dungeon Music. Thinking of the Ayleid Ruins of The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, I clearly remember the intimidating atmosphere wandering through those dungeons, even in the late game as a skilled character. But it wasn’t only the zombies, the faint lights and deadly traps, but also the music that created this immersive atmosphere. An impression that lasts till today. I decided to take a similar approach as I did in Natura on the underworld journey, going for different chapters. I chose a dungeon, a cave system and an underground tomb complex. Each got a short, drafted background story, a main potential threat (bandits, monster spiders and undead creatures) and based on all that, its very own distinctive character in music. I wanted to create some connections to my game memories, but also add my own interpretation of how it should sound. To make the experience as immersive as possible, I didn’t want to stick to an animated still image, so I chose to dive into the world of the Unreal Engine 4 creating a level scene with some asset packs - the world of Obscura came to life. I hope you enjoy the journey! If you like the video, please consider hitting the Thumbs Up button and share it in your community. Really appreciate your support! Cheers ;)
Oblivion dungeon music is exactly what I'm feeling right now. I think that's okay! Especially while I build a terrifying, brutal D&D Horror Adventure, with slimes, undead merfolk, necromancers, blights, banshees, spectator (which is like a beholder, but will attack it's own kind...very aggressive monster), a puzzle, a timer, a vampire, his mind controlled doppelganger to set a ruse, and end it with a pit fiend. Maybe even a couple of mimics for good measure? A lich too?? The possibilities are endless, you see...
I wanted to put this on as background music but ended up so engrossed in the incredible animation that I sat and watched the whole thing! amazing work on this, i hope this gets the attention it deserves for all the effort you put in and how gorgeous the level is. would love to actually play through something like this!
Epic music is like a sonic journey through the peaks and valleys of emotion. The dramatic highs and lows in the music create a powerful narrative that resonates with the soul.
This is EXACTLY the type of music I've been looking for to build a sense of suspense/dread in my players when DM'ing tabletop RPG's. Excellent work, hits all the right notes, will definitely be using this in future games.
I just have to say, this feeling of immersion is phenomenal. This music is so...tense. I've watched this completely about 5 times, and yet I feel like if I was actually there I would still get lost. Plus, the music adds this sense of paranoia. From the video, nothing comes out to get you, but you FEEL like it will. Every turn of a corner, you're just waiting to get jumped. I LOVE IT!
Thank you so much for your comment! :) Glad to read what I attempted worked out like this. The basic idea is that you hear the threat, but don't see it. The rest is experience from computer games I guess =) Thanks again!

Absolutely genius. This reminds me of Return To Castle Wolfenstein last mission when Blazkowicz returns to the oldest part of castle and explores underground.
Wow! Beautiful! It resembles the nightmares I sometimes do when I sleep. Walking through unknown buildings in the dark with any escape. Stairs and stairs, up and down without an end. The music by itself was certainly inspiring but I was surprised at how entrancing the video was. There was something about the pacing that made it hard to tear my eyes away, details like how the camera seemed to slow down before entering large chambers, or the displays of curiosity in how the camera would shift to look down stairways and glance between bars or doorways. I couldn't help but imagine all the moments you would have stumbled into a boss
The initial idea back then was to just build a scene and put a static camera. But I somehow ended up telling my whole story visually too. Glad I did. Thanks for the comment!
My D&D party that I'm DMing for went through a terrifying, Saw-esque dream sequence that required them to solve puzzles together or die in groups of two. My partner, one of the players, put this on as background music (which was very nice, this worked really well!). I was describing a musical puzzle, with soft single notes playing in succession, for two players. They were trying to figure it out, and the table was almost completely silent, save for the music and one of the players thinking aloud quietly. Then the music box notes at 20:00 played and we all jumped out of our skin. It was beautiful.

11:30 sounds like the music that plays in Lost, when Jacob is explaining the properties of the island to Richard. In this context it gives the sense of relieving anxiety in contrast with the drab and unforgiving horror that is the rest of the castle, a sort of light at the end of the tunnel literally and metaphorically.
Must admit I never watched Lost, but checked out the scene and you're right! Musically it's pretty simple, just swinging back and forth between two chords (i-vb), but the nature of this progression lets it sound ambigous, unresting, nervous or dangerous. It's used like that in many different movies, it just works so well. Thanks for the comment! :)

I use atmospheric videos as background and I have clicked on this one whenever it is re-suggested; the music is sublime! This is the first time I see the video and I find myself unable to look away especially during the 2nd half. I so want to walk there lol I love the graphics and the camera frames and the pace. Thanks for your interest. It's a thriller novel I am working on. Still in the exploratory phase, so, far from done. But I'm working on getting some short stories published. If that happens I'll let you know!
I sure wish this would be an epic PC game with mage-sorceress-kind of NPCs and great story. Filled with monsters, unhuman screams, echoes and dark-like magic. Always loved the adrenalin these kind of games give. Especially in the night. And these great visualisations are like made for that. XD
@@papa2000ism Sure! I am working on a medieval village/ town scenario at the moment, and more scenarios are planned. Just don't know when it will be done, it's a ton of work =) I'm posting some sneak peak material on my Patreon every once in a while: patreon.com/askiimusic

Believe it or not, I put this on when I go to sleep sometimes. I used to wake up several times during the night. Not because I got scared, but to press repeat. Now I figured how to put it on a loop. I love the cinematic animation you do here. It sends us to the depths of the dungeon . we listen to melancholy as our doom approaches
Thank you, glad you like it!
This is awesome. Thank you ASKII. I will be definitely using this at some point in my campaign. You have an incredible talent my friend.
Glad to hear, thank you very much!
feel that I was inside world else ..... this is the work Very beautiful .... I can't describe it 😭❤❤❤❤
I use atmospheric videos as background and I have clicked on this one whenever it is re-suggested; the music is sublime!
This is the first time I see the video and I find myself unable to look away especially during the 2nd half. I so want to walk there lol I love the graphics and the camera frames and the pace. Outstanding concept design and execution!
Thank you so much!! :-)
Some of the most fantastic dungeon music that I have ever heard. Bravo!!!
Feeling honored, thank you very much!
just found this tonight, amazing work gave me a better sense of scale for my dungeon building for my D&D group thanks! did not expect it to be a tour of awesomness
Thank you very much!
Well made, our session was more immersive thanks to this music.
Glad that it worked so well, thank you very much! :)

Thank you for your comment! :) Much appreciated!
I also found this music for the same purpose!
This is really great! Usually, this kind of synthetic music really sound... well, synthetic. The quality of this is impressive! Thanks!

This dungeon is breathtaking 💀 😱Subscribed immediately.
Thank you very much!! Means a lot to me to read that :)
Just subscribed to your channel as well. Those ambiences often help me to get into the right mood for music. Keep it up!
@@askiimusic You're welcome, I love the atmosphere of dungeons, and dark ambient music. You blended it so well, that vid made a huge impression on me. I'm going to visit regularly. Big Thanks!🙏
Very nice atmospheric creation! We use it regularly on our sessions!
Looking forward to more mystery themes like these!
Thank you so much, I'm glad you can use it in your sessions! =) There's a new episode in the making, medieval towns/ villages, but it may still take a while to get it done. Cheers!
@@askiimusic are you finished the medieval town village ?
@@papa2000ism Getting close! The 3D world is done, still hunting down the last bugs before the final export. There's still some music and audio SFX to be done, though. I estimate the final video for November, maybe December. Working on it daily and I'm as excited as you are to finish it at last =)
Dude I really hope that you are going to do all the possible ambience!...graveyards, haunted houses, desert, viking village, etc... I really dig your animations!
That's the plan, eventually ;) Glad you like it!
This is so awesome! Just what I've been looking for. So pleased I could 'look around' while listening to the soothing, yet emotionally stirring music. I want more!
Glad you like it! There are two more videos on my channel, another one coming in April
This is awesome work! Congratulations and much more success!
Thank you so much!
This just came up on my youtube feed, and it's awesome.
Thank you very much! 🙂
Perfect for my AD&D campaign I’m running
Thank you! 🙂
@@askiimusic yeah
My son and I love it
Totally spooked him as I’m DMing his 2nd Dungeon crawl

Huge plus for this dungeon exploration animation. 💀🍷
Thank you :)
Over an hour of excellent dark ambient music and deep atmosphere. Well, really good.🎹🎵🎶
Thank you! 😊
@@askiimusic 🙂
Got to be one of the best dungeon mixes
Thank you! :)
This reminds me of some Assassin's Creed dungeons or assassin bureaus. I absolutely love it!
Thank you very much! :)
ooh, this is perfect for my d&d games. my players are gonna be so freaked when they find that underground entrance in the forest they're in right now and THIS starts playing. i'm definitely gonna check out your other tracks, this is fantastic! 🖤
Thank you so much for your comment, that's much appreciated! Always amazing when my music is used in gaming sessions! :)
OMG this is sooo amazing. I'm going to use this in my dark fantasy dnd game! It will be perfect ambience during the darkest hours.
Thank you very much! Glad you are using it for your games :) Cheers
Massive, dark, and hidious !It's like anything I ever dreamed but in a nightmare! Ghosts haunting that place ! Skeletons and torture chambers !!Yet, it seems so much like an ADVENTURE trip from dungeons to crypts!☻💀☠🖤🕷🕸
Glad you like it, thank you very much!
Standing ovation !!!
The best video I've ever watched in my life!!!
Have more ???
Wow, thanks! :D Check the Hegelburg videos on my channel. Different scenario, but same type of content. More is in the making!
Came here not expecting much, thanks for the amazing music lad, cheers :)
I'm glad you like it, thanks a lot for the comment! =)
This is the best horror film ever made, imo
Feeling honored! :D Thank you!
and as always, our hero is going to the darkest and most dangerous places. cool 👍
Dude, just want to say thank you. This is tremendous work and dedications on all fronts. Listening to this really helped me get the atmosphere down in a sewer sequence I'm writing. Thanks and subscribed :D
Thank you for your comment, I'm glad the video inspired you! :) What exactly are you writing? Is it possible to read it somewhere?
Thanks for your interest. It's a thriller novel I am working on. Still in the exploratory phase, so, far from done. But I'm working on getting some short stories published. If that happens I'll let you know!
This is so incredibly immersive!
Thank you very much! 🙂
I found this on dungeon synth bandcamp, love it
Thank you! :)
That's something Diablo 3 and 4 designers should understand.
These are ESO environments, I'm waiting for the Falmers to jump from every dark corner!
I sure wish this would be an epic PC game with mage-sorceress-kind of NPCs and great story. Filled with monsters, unhuman screams, echoes and dark-like magic. Always loved the adrenalin these kind of games give. Especially in the night. And these great visualisations are like made for that. XD
Maybe some day in the future :) I built upon on my gaming memories here, as well as adding some of my own ideas. I'm glad you like it!
Perfect for ransacking the Arkovian Undercity or Steps of Torment in Grim Dawn.
Ohhhh this is so creative and original from you, I love the medieval ambiance. Godd work
I'm glad you like it, thank you very much for your comments! :)
@@askiimusic you will make more videos like it in the future ?
@@papa2000ism Sure! I am working on a medieval village/ town scenario at the moment, and more scenarios are planned. Just don't know when it will be done, it's a ton of work =) I'm posting some sneak peak material on my Patreon every once in a while: patreon.com/askiimusic
@@askiimusic it will take a fews months ?
I know this is hard but I want know :)
@@papa2000ism My initial plan was to have it done by summer. I honestly underestimated the complexity of building a whole settlement, so I assume something around autumn now.
There's a work in progress screenshot on the interview I recently had with Professional Composers network: professionalcomposers.com/how-to-use-visuals-to-enhance-your-music
I just wanted some ambiant music to listen to while I would be drawing and writing but I can't stop watching the animation and getting drawned into the ambiance
Really nice work !
Thank you very much! Glad my work can inspire further!
This puts off Amnesia the Dark Descent vibes.
You extraordinary person who makes very beautiful music and very beautiful fantasy worlds!
Thank you :)
This is way too underrated
This! Is how ambient music should be done!! ASKII you have set the standard with this video!!
I just followed an idea =) Thank you very much!
Believe it or not, I put this on when I go to sleep sometimes. I used to wake up several times during the night. Not because I got scared, but to press repeat. Now I figured how to put it on a loop. It helps me to sleep simply bc I can't think of much else when listening to this. And it's the thoughts that keep me awake.
Interesting effect for sure 😉 But good when it helps you to sleep. Thanks for the comment! 😊
Suddenly the music stops. You get up in the night to figure out what the hell just happened.
