      @@Winterstick549Well it was her decision to write two bass parts on each of the Remain In Light songs.
      You should maybe wonder how Byrne felt about Adrian Belew being there, since he almost replaced him for good.

      And two drummers!

    • @BeggarsNight
      @BeggarsNight 2 месяца назад +3

      There’s an answer for this now. In Chris Frantz’s recent book, he says that Byrne hired a second bassist for the tour without consulting the rest of the band. This was when tensions between him and Tina were super high. The guy who was brought in was horrified when he realized what was going on, but Tina just worked out two bass parts per song with him instead of making an issue out of it and the tour proceeded.
      Byrne was always super weird about Tina from the start. Was honestly a jerk about it a lot.

    • @corailgris
      @corailgris 20 дней назад

      @@BeggarsNight A jerk ? I think not ! Byrne was the leader & the main creative force behind TH so he always made the right decisions, given the extraordinary musical outcome he has created.

      There are a few Talking Heads shows to consider. Central Park 1980 is a seminal piece of sound and fury from everyone. Stop Making Sense 1984 must have been a fever of a show.

    Didn't know that Belew joined on the tour as well :-).
    Nice to see they were already doing the more relaxed start of the song already in 1980. In the live version on 'The name of this band is TH' (11/9/80), it jumpstarts in the more frantic part, just like on the studio version. The stop-making-sense version does have the relaxed start. I had imagined that was a later evolution of the song.
