Nice demo. You skipped showing that you can lock the icons in place to avoid accidental removing and rearrangement. The Pressure Reveal is cool too. If the dock is not there because of other settings you can make it show by moving the mouse over the screen border. I will miss this gem when Wayland takes over.
I LOVE plank.... use it all the time... and it may not be perfect..... but it's as close as it gets--- thing is- it WON"T work with WAYLAND---(but then- Wayland is crap anyway-- it's NOT ready and shouldn't have been released... ) I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed and this one is SO much simpler and easier than Latte or Cairo....which are a lot heavier on resource uses too.. GREAT VIDEO-- thanks..
Nice insight, yes I'm in your corner... about WAYLAND , a lot of things do not work , but maybe some day , but we are not there today. Also Thanks for the kind words .
Plank is awesome, much better than other docks imho. Wayland will be a problem, as more and more distros not only default to wayland but also will disable X11😑😥
I have installed LMDE omto am old MacBook Air. I cam load Plank, but cannot putt up the Plank configuration menu by pressimg Control and Right Click. Suggestions?
Odd..NOTE : if you are using a touch pad on your old MAC , try a regular computer mouse if you have one. Also Important Note, the Video you are responding to was filmed on LM 21.3 not LMDE... they are slightly different , thus have not tried Plank with LMDE. Regards, t
I do not use enough of this software to best answer your question , sorry. But if someone posts something that is of nature as a reference , I will pass along.
Linux for Seniors. Will you publish my tip of how to get to the config menu? RUclips will not show the method. I guess configuring software is against some rule or abusive in some way. I've tried twice but the replies are blocked.
I personally do not use Plank on a daily basis, so not going to say is the Best... some feel it works for them, others state the standard Mint Panel Bar is best for them . I was asked to do a video on this , again I am sure so will say yes , while other's no. Regards, t
Can you review Garuda Dragonized I am in love with it over the Steam support I am starting to hate Windows and might give up on it for Linux it's sad people claim Linux is hard I have NO EXPERIENCE in using Linux and it's perfectly fine I keep trying to go back to Windows 10 but this time I am passing on Windows and letting Linux redeem its self so far it works the layout is better and I am hooked on KDE Plasma all my emulators work that I want on it and I don't think I am switching bye Windows you won't be missed! Also I consider Garuda Dragonized to be the Linux version of Windows 11 some people report bloat but I see no bloat in any Arch Linux distro it's part of the design.
Perfect demo of Plank. Thank you!
You're very welcome!
I prefer the launcher applet on the lonely panel fixed to the right side of the screen.
👍

Thanks for the tips!
To access the Plank menu with the mouse only, position the pointer between the icons and right click.
Thanks for the tip
I thought this was the same as right clicking icon, anyway thanks for the tip.

Personally I do not think Wayland is ready for prime time , and certainly will effect many apps if X11 goes away.
Great video. Keep these coming. I love your format.

Is it possible to ad the full cinnamon program starter with the "mint icon" to plank?

Could you do a video on SIMPLE SCREEN RECORDER? I use OBS because I couldn't get Simple Screen to do right... THANKS. (and why do you prefer it?)
I will put that on my to do list :o)

Right click the mint icon.
do you consider plank as the best dock for LMC?
