Port of Dover | How to find your ferry

The Port of Dover (UK) is the world's busiest ferry terminal. So, how do you find YOUR ferry? Well, A2B via Sea and The Bearded Blogger (Instagram: thebearded_blogger) will show you!
All ferries, whether it's DFDS Seaways, Irish Ferries or P&O Ferries depart from the Eastern Docks. The Western Docks is home to the Cruise Terminals, marinas and the Cargo Terminal. Dover Harbour Board manages both the Eastern and Western Docks.
You can access the Eastern Docks by the M2/A2 via Canterbury or the M20/A20 via Folkestone & Ashford. All roads lead to the M25 London orbital in around an hour.
Upon arrival at the Eastern Docks Ferry Terminal follow the signage for 'cars'.
If you have a booking head straight for Check-in. If you have a query or need the WC follow the signs for the Terminal building.
You will pass through three check points before reaching the Check-in;
1, French Border Control: have your passport, ferry documents and Covid-19 documentation
2, UK Border Control: have your passport to hand
3, Security
After this you may proceed to the ferry company Check-in; DFDS, Irish Ferries and P&O Ferries; follow the signage.
Upon arrival have your booking confirmation to hand.
You will be given a lane number which relates the the car lane you need to park your vehicle in whilst you await embarkation.
Follow the signage for your lane.
When the vessel is ready to commence loading you will be directed to the ship.
If you are early there is a 'Welcome Break' rest stop near berths 7, 8 & 9 which has a Burger King, WH Smiths, WC facilities, Bureau de Change and a viewing gallery.

Hi. Thanks for watching! Although I have reached the car lanes for ferry embarkation from the entrance to the port in 15min having passed the three check points, I would always allow at least an hour as the port can get very busy
