It should be Samoa Joe. They have history in TNA together. It feels reminiscent of Sting vs Vader because Joe can work like a monster. Joe’s the AEW world champion. A win over a wrestling icon would be huge for both Joe and the AEW world title. And Joe gets massive heat for being the guy that ended Sting’s career. Joe is good enough to work around Sting’s limitations. Build the match around Joe’s coquina clutch and Sting fighting it off to do his big moves but being unable to put Joe away. And when Sting is exhausted, Joe locks in the clutch and chokes Sting out and leaves him lying. After Joe does his celebration and leaves, Sting can come to and receive his flowers for a valiant effort.

Jeff as a single, even referencing that he still feels bad over Victory Road and this is his last chance to 'clear his conscience'. There is history between them in an infamous match that went bad for the worst possible reasons. Then Jeff should wait a month without performing and declare that Stings last match was his farewell too. [The month is to not steal Stings limelight by doing it straight away.] We saw during his 'Anti-Christ' days that Jeff CAN work a safer non-high spot style so this is where I would have gone with it. To wipe off the stain of Victory Road.

It's amazing how the Bucks have worked so many people into seeing their selfishness as benevolence. The way their grift works in AEW is that they have a 'great match' with a tag team but know full well that Tony Khan is incapable of getting anyone over. They are already over with their subset of fans that will yell from the rooftop of their greatness so that just leaves them with "They are already great and put on great matches with these new tag teams" and they move onto the next team because they already have their spot. Meanwhile the new tag teams have one and only one good match - with the Bucks then are cratered by Tony's incompotence which makes it look like the only reason they were ever any good was because of the Bucks.

    • @Fencellisk
