Absolutely perfect lesson. No drawn out history lesson (I watch biographies for that), no intro to technique like alternation thumb (lessons out there just for that). Concise, direct, effective. I'm sub'd.
Thanks for both - comments and subscribing! I'll be doing more acoustic lessons in the Spring -- including Blind blake's Guitar Chimes - another great Blake instrumental.
I've listened to this more since making this lesson and realize that I've missed quite a bit - which is not hard to do on a Blind Blake song. I will try to update this once I figure more of it out. I think this is a good basic version of the song for those just getting into this kind of playing.
I do Blind Boy Fuller's version of Pistol Slapper Blues? I could do a lesson for that one easily. I perform that one live with a vocalist who also plays harmonica. I'll post a version of it when I get some time. Thanks for the nice comment!
Thank you for the lesson, I've been trying to learn the tune & your video has been a help. Btw, that is a pretty sweet guitar, what model Tacoma is it? How did you find one w/o the notorious finish issues, yours looks absolutely perfect?
A friend of mine is a guitar dealer. He sold it to me a long time ago. I did not know it had problems. Thanks! I'll check the model for you - it's at work and I'm at home right now.
Let me know if there is anything you'd like to learn in particular. I don't claim to know everything, but if I don't know how to play something, I'm always interested in trying to figure it out. Thanks!
That sound is excellent. I think the picks give it that snap that the earlier players really strived for. Love the music.

Old School Blues Guitar Looking forward it! Spent 3 hours hammering this lesson out. Calluses were getting a little soft!

You are right, you are no expert on Blind Blake. Just stop.
